Robert Welsh , I don’t think it’s the eyeliner nor the technique. I have very hooded eyes especially on the outer side, so if I don’t lift my eye I cannot get eyeliner on the space(especially if I keep my eyes open) so achieving any wing seems impossible 🤔 and doing it as You described is also impossible because it’s not a flat 🙁 surface and when you pull the eye open draw a good line it distorts when you release the skin back to the original shape. Sad but I think we that have these droopy hoods are sol 🥺 but I did enjoy the video and am now subscribed 🙂 thank you

Robert Welsh Oooo and for the one question about what to do about suddenly drier textured skin, I love your advice about using a lip BALM...🙏🏽🤩‼️ I’m gonna leave a link for people who are just learning like I am, the deets and ins and outs of skincare and makeup 💄 🤗🥰and I’m not trying to shade anyone, just truly find skincare and makeup theory absolutely fascinating and I so appreciate you Robert 🙏🏽😎thank you for these videos, and I’ll thank him in a minute, but I thank your twin bro too...he’s taught me awesome things about skincare 🤗💃🏻🤩🙏🏽

I’ve never had a “heavy hand” when applying my makeup 💄 and when I try to show off the absolutely gorgeous makeup look I just tried to do my version of, from a video by any of my fav youtubers ....it doesn’t translate to the dang camera 📸 🥺it always looks way too soft and definitely doesn’t show my skill level, I’m not a pro, but I’m also not a novice either....apparently I’m just a little too shy with my makeup and I’m trying to expand my experience and stuff like that, ya know, just trying to have some fun with my makeup 💄 😑 I was also just watching your video about your #dailymakeuproutine #KoreanBeautyBrands we need to know about 🤗 and I love your explanation for the difference between “camera ready makeup”&”IRL makeup”, I’m trying to go waaaay outside my comfort zone in the more colorful makeup looks, I never used bright chromatic colors for my eyeshadow before (other than an accent color 🤨)& it’s intimidating AF 🥺 I want desperately to do the gorgeous, colorful looks I see my fav TH-camr’s doing...I know I can’t replicate it exactly bcuz I’m not them... I would just like to make my version of their amazing makeup looks 🤗💃🏻🤩‼️

I have noted his saying how important ‘skin care’ is even before applying makeup. I’ve been waiting for some

difference in my skin is amazing to the point were I don’t really need to wear foundation.

A little advice for my fellow hooded eye beauties (at least from my experience): I often see people with hooded eyes not bringing out their makeup onto their hood. Instead of using just my eyelid as a frame for where to stop, I stretch all the way to my orbital bone (don’t do a big circle, still what Robert showed). If you go on just the lid, everything is hidden. Robert’s advice was spot on, but also make sure you’re properly utilizing ALL the space below your eyebrow.
My favorite hooded-eye makeup channels are BrittanyNicole and Smitha Deepak. Brittany gives great advice and is educational. I would have given up on makeup looking good on me if it weren’t for her. Smitha does really cool looks, but her hoods aren’t as extreme as other people’s, so she may not be for everyone. Robert is also one of favorites of course, but not for hooded eyes (no offense, I’ve learned a lot from Robert).

Julia Grubisic I love both them too!!! I initially started watching smitha because when I saw her eyes I thought oh they are puffy hooded like mine! Cuz my eyes aren’t inset at all. They’re like flat. But the hooded part - when my eyes are closed, there’s just this puffiness on top of my lashes (not sure how else to explain it 🤣). So when I saw her eyes they seemed to have that same kind of puffiness, but then when she closes her eyes she has a TON of space! And when she brings the crease up - u especially notice it when she does a cut crease - she has all this space to work with, which I definitely don’t 🤣 So it was nice to find Brittany

Yes yes yes - a hooded eye video would be great. As I am "maturing" my hood is getting to the point where it overlaps my lash-line so a hooded or VERY hooded eye tutorial would be heaven

They make us all think "HEY this is how you should do your makeup, these are the products you should use" and then if we cant get their tutorials to work for us then we get so depressed and sad. Thank you for being real.

Nyx jumbo pencil in milk before the inner corner shadow really makes it pop. Just blend it out after applying with a brush before putting on the eyeshadow. Your tips on hooded eyes is how I have been doing my eyeshadow for years. The sigma e40 or morphe pencil brush really helps with the outer corner and outer crease.

The batwing is super helpful! I've watched many tutorials for hooded eyes but nobody really used this technique and most dragged the eyeliner thick across the lid, which just takes away all the nice space for an eyeshadow. I've tried your way once and while it wasn't perfect, it was 100% better than my previous attempts. I'll keep trying and I shall master it. Thank you so much, Robert. 😘 I've learned a lot from binge watching your videos for the past week lol.

And with hooded eyes, which I have mostly hooded eyes, it's super, super important to open your eyes and look forward to truly see how far your shadows are going out. Closed eyes with a bit of a tip back allows you to apply the shadow smoothly, but opening the eyes makes it all disappear. Opening my eyes more often shows what everyone else will see and will help you ensure you're getting the shape Robert diagrammed. Also, Wayne Goss has an awesome hooded eye tutorial that can be a great complement to Robert's.

For anyone dealing with dry skin during winter try changing up your cleanser. Avoid SLS (sodium laureth sulfate/sodium lauryl sulfate) and try a cleansing oil, milk or gel. If you have combination skin just use it where it’s dry. Moisturisers with more natural based ingredients and little or no silicones also seem to help the best. Hyaluronic Acid has also been a saviour lately for me! Great video as always thanks Robert!
