    ROBERT listen!! For the lady with hooded eyes. There is a shadow base(eye primer) is ULTA brand, is the best thing, for oily lids. If she uses this shadow base let it set she can block oils from coming thru she can even try putting some skin color shadow( or any powder) just tiny bit on top for added measure. Try both ways, alone the base or with little powder or shadow to make it xtra absorbent thru long work days. It's called "ULTA Matte eye primer" and it's sold in ULTA the makeup store. I even had my primary physician try it in her oily lids and she LOVES IT!! She is almost 60 yrs and also has hooded eyes and only wears eyeliner but it smudges on her so she did this trick and worked amazing for her

    For the lady with the hooded lids I have had the same problem. I found 2 things helped. First using inglot duraline or something similar and budge proof and mix a drop with your liner helps a lot. Second I set my liner with a similar shade eye shadow to help keep it in place. Hope this helps❣

    *For Hooded Eyes - if your eyeliner transfers, get a gel liner (pot), a liner brush (not too bendy) and some Inglot Duraline ($12). On a palette, mix a little gel liner and a drop or 2 of Duraline. Not only will this make the liner easier to apply but the Duraline will make it bulletproof!*

      I wasn't a fan myself trying to apply the way they show because thats way too much product unless you doing it for IG only (it will crease if you wear makeup for hours in real life) and not on yourself. However once i started using a different brush (i love f 12 from colourpop) and applied a small amount it became my favorite base. The worst eyeshadows will stand out and for really pigmented ones start with a second darkest color for easy blending (in case you go from dark to light which is the way they usually do).

Light hearted positive people will always see your golden heart even if they are new to your channel. There are so many negative people out there who struggle with liking themselves, you shouldn’t take what they say to your heart. Easier said than done, I know. Yes! What she said! It's strange how these videos and tweets (and podcasts 💜) can make us feel like we actually know a person we've never met. maybe it's "the current climate," but I am relatively new to social media and I have to say in the beginning I was feeling...as underwhelmed as I expected to be. Then...one of James's videos was recommended by YT and he mentioned your channel in it and it was like someone lit the black flame candle!! You two are really so .... different in the best possible way from what's out there and it comes across IMMEDIATELY. (And I felt that way before the "current climate"😝) so I guess what she said....and a short novel more, but whatever, we love you 🐾🖤✖

Also tricks for textured, puffy eyes (crepey) would be good... these are extensions on a few things you mentioned, and just hearing generally how you approach such things would be so helpful!

    I love these videos! Real questions and answers! Please list your favorite eyeshadow bases -ones that even out color on the lid. MAC Paint Pot is ok but creases on my inner eye. To the woman with eyeliner transfer- I’m also over 50 with hooded eyes. I tight line and then take a very small pointed brush and wiggle the pigment between all my lashes to soften it and I never have transfer. You’re one of the best!!!

    So my question for you is; what is the most difficult thing to do on a client? Just curious to know :)

  • @jademoon7938
    @jademoon7938 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I have hooded eyes and I find eyeliner pencils smudge far more than liquid eyeliner does. I make the line really thin and hugging my lash line in the inner corner and gradually thicken it on an upward angle to the outer corner, so the outer flick is coming off the top of the thicker line, making my eyes look like they're slanting upwards. The thin line also keeps some of the lid visible above it, so your shadow isn't hidden away. I'll tight line a black pencil on my lower lash line if I want a more dramatic look, but I usually just swipe whatever colour of shadow I'm using on my lids in a thin line along the lower lashes. To avoid having the liquid stamp a line like the one the lady was showing she had, keep your lids lower and your brows higher until it fully dries. I can't recall the last time I tried putting a pencil liner on my upper lash line. Liquid takes some practice to master, but it's definitely worth it.

When i found your concealer trick it helped soooo much but i was still getting creasing so finally i tried not using any powder and it was so much better!! I will naturally still get creasing but like you've said its so much easier to touch up, afew dabs and it looks fine again!! Powder under the eyes just doesn't do me any favours, so glad you've taught me this🧡 xxxx

    I have very prominent smile lines. Recently I found myself looking at those lines in the context of shadows...because the shadow is what makes lines even more visible. So I got a concealer, a shade of two lighter than what i usually use, and i applied it down the area that's shadowed. I used urban decay eye primer first, then a thin amount of foundation, then the concealer. Its made a real difference in how noticable the lines are.

    • @bastdanica
      @bastdanica 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds very close to a technique that Wayne Goss talked about in one of his videos. Same thing with eye bags. Use lighter concealer over the shadow part helps to make those features less prominent.

    • @Esoteraeon
      @Esoteraeon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you put the urban decay eye primer in your smile lines?

    • @vanessamw1140
      @vanessamw1140 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@bastdanica Wayne might be the one that inspired me to try it. There was a male MUA who talked about shadows that made me think about it like that, I just can't remember who.,

    • @vanessamw1140
      @vanessamw1140 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Esoteraeon I do, but not always. Depends on my skin on any given day. Actually, now that I think about it, I might use the primer less often. I didn't today. Because as Robert has pointed out, less is more. It can get kind of cakey with those 3 layers. The main thing is the lighter concealer. You kind of have to experiment with it, but putting the light concealer on the very darkest part just really makes a difference. You dont want the concealer to go anywhere except for that shadowed area though. So I just apply a few small dots down the line and blend really lightly.

    For smile line problem,I found a solution from Jackie Aina.It works for me.I used a silicone based primer then concealer.I let the concealer sit for a while then blended into the skin and use a light a very light dusting of powder.After that I use foundation over top and I barely use foundation in that area.
    I hope it helps!!!

    First of all, you are such a kind and genuine person, as well as knowledgeable! I am so glad I subscribed to you a few months ago. I am 48 and getting rather “crepey” around the eyes. Your concealer technique has me looking so much younger. I have been lied to for many years on You Tube, believing I had to pile on heavy concealer. I am also very oily, so it will feel unnatural to not powder under my eyes, but I am going to try it because I trust you, Robert! 💕

    I have somewhat hooded eyes and struggle with transfer too. I found that using false lashes that look natural and eyeliner on the waterline on the top eyelid helps a lot! It gives me that dark enhancing line around the eye without the mess. :)
