Hmm, This is a kind of problem, after more than twenty years on the market, Qt versions can be so much different. One of the key features of Qt is that it is eternal because of its history and C++. C/C++ remains forever the language of everything.
Every time I attempt an install of Qt on windows, (I've tried three different installations, qt6 normal, qt5 normal, and qt6 custom) and I get a hash error while downloading, and for some unknown reason it is always when the download is at 32%, no matter the difference of downloading I am doing
I need to learn Qt5 for my job but this series is Qt6 and the older one starts out as Qt4, can I still use your tutorials or do I need to find another series or books or something and what series more applicable to Qt 5?
Hey Bryan can you please make a video of drawing a line on DICOM Image on mouse click event in QT. It would be really helpful, I am stuck on it for like about a week and the problem is not getting resolved..!!!
I read somewhere that Pyside6 is a port of QT so will this QT tutorial will also be usable for pyside devs ? I've no knowledge of either at this stage but based on what I've read so far, both UI frameworks uses qml objects for UI design and just the backend logic is either C++ for QT and Python pyside. Is this correct ?
hi Bryan! I was looking for a course on Qt widgets for intermediate and advanced with c++ on udemy but could't find, could you please tell where I can get it from?
I have a question Would it be a problem for you if I downloaded your course video for private use. I have a rather slow Internet connection sometimes and I would prefer not to be distracted by the browser while studying Thanks for your great job man!
The courses have already been pirated several times and for that very reason I don't allow people to download them I'm sure there's several browser extensions that people can use to download them
I typically don't answer these on my TH-cam channel because I get a ton of them, I'd recommend you join the voidrealms Facebook group for help, executable crashing could be about a dozen different things but usually you're missing a dependency
When installing Qt 6 in the exact same way as video shows, including Open GL, which went OK. I got some weird lib errors. If even the simplest installation doesn't get installed properly on Linux, what else can one expect ?? Mind you, the Ubuntu was also a fresh installation. Centos had the same errors pop up. Qt6 ? No, thanks.
Because every Linux distro is slightly different, yes you will have things you'll have to install on Linux mint... I had to install OpenGL, g++, and some dev tools
@@VoidRealms I get some sort of plugin error. "qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found." OpenGL was installed properly. Just weird ... On Win, of course there's no such error. I've googled it, found nothin of use. I'll keep on searching, but will not spend too much time with this, though. This was on Centos 8. On Centos 7, the situation is even worse. I get this error: "Error during installation process (qt.qt6.612.gcc_64): Could not find the needed QmakeOutputInstallerKey(qt.qt6.612.gcc_64_qmakeoutput) value on the installer object. The ConsumeOutput operation on the valid qmake needs to be called first." Thank you for your reply, though.
@@VoidRealms Yeah, I remember us discussing it. I think you are right about the almost total rewrite. It seems like only a couple of years ago I was getting angry at the framework for not working with C++11 properly, now they moved everything to C++17.

Thanks for the vid. However, Windows is always 100 times more challenging than Linux. On Arch-based distros, you could just download everything from the Arch repo with one terminal command.
People like you are like a gem to linux community. Thanks for such high quality valuable content.
start all over from scratch,QT5 is very different from Q6, even the old versions of QT5 are different from the last.I am your big fan❤️

Qt should be paying you for making such dedicated series for free on youtube
You are the best of all - With your tutorial, I have finally installed the right version and way in c++ qt. Thanks
What a sexy installer! Finally I'm happy to see they improved the Qt's IFW in the latest 4.0 Release.
I think the installer is vastly improved as well!
It feels like installing Nvidia driver in the early 2000s...

Is it really opensource? Why I cannot download anything because "Installation from your IP address is not allowed". Please don't call it "opensource".
