30 years of watching asphalt disappear under my feet. Not sure how much longer I’ll keep going. I miss the days you refer to in this song and they ain’t coming back. Hell, I’m too old for that anymore anyway. Great song and truly appreciate those of you in the music industry that take the time to acknowledge the sacrifices we make out here every day.
Thank you! As somebody with truck drivers (and military) people in my family I know firsthand the sacrifices some people make to keep us fed, comfortable and safe!
Those days are long gone my friend. When you had your cb your AM FM and old faithful the atlas. Those that never trucked in those days don’t know what trucking really is. 🤘
@@anthonyhousewright3180 this is 100% truth. I didn’t even get a cell phone till 2005. Life as a otr driver was a lot better back then. I’m just thankful that I got to experience that and am close to retirement now.
Thank you 😊,God bless you and yours . I’m from Missouri. In the winters when it would snow . I worked nights and had a long commute to and around the KC metro area . Before the plows would be out clearing the roads . I’ve survived my drive . Thanks to the Trucker Tracks !
50 years of trucking my son sent me this song. Can't tell you how many times I had to load up and leave them little guys. Tore my heart out to leave them. Thank you for this music.
My son and i cryed listening to this song his daddy was a trucker before he passed away when my son was 8 years old and daughter was 11 we miss him badly 😢
Been out here 21 in April I don't know if I'll make it another 10 let alone 21 more thank you bud for delivering them loads that fed me when I was little
My baby drives otr flatbed, I miss him everyday. Nobody knows how hard the trucking life is just so people can have the simple things they take for granted. You dont know happiness until you hear those jakes around the corner and the air brakes pop when he comes home, or the sadness and pain when that engine starts back up to leave.
I agree 100% my husband has been a trucker 90% of our 7 years of blissful marriage he works for Coleman those military members are the closest ones that understand about missing your families like we miss our husbands the sweet sound of the air brakes never gets old though then they leave and you pray they will return to you safe and sound
Sometimes I swear these old trucks is all I’ve every really understood. They are a blessing and a curse to those of us who love and depend on the industry. I appreciate all the fellow drivers who commented. Evie definitely knows what being a trucker and a trucker’s son is like. Great song son, we all appreciate it.
20 years trucking 3rd gen in my family. I wouldn't change a thing but damn does this song hit. Sit back and think all that is given to this life and still is. Don't care how the world sees me just my family is all that matters. So I keep them wheels turning.
Yes sir! Got that seat sitting on the floor and lighting up a big Red! Getting right for the flight! Thanks for the song Elvie! I’m 3rd gen Truck driver my dad put in 63 years I’m on 27 years and being from East Tennessee love the video!
21 years out here and I’m a second generation driver. This song hits hard being a dad of 4 missin damn near every big moment so far in their lives. My dad passed in 14 after 32 yrs in this life from a heart attack and then being in Georgia when you get the call your moms goin home and miss her being awake by a hour because of a jam in Chattanooga. Thank you for a song that catches what this life cost and the miles missed.
@@ElvieShaneMusic been a trucker for 20 years here. Got a little boy in my life that isn't my real son too. Between this and "he's my boy" it feels like you're singing my life. Thank you brother for singing songs about guys that usually don't get acknowledged out here. I wish you all the success you deserve
This is the only time I’m thankful for cell phones! Cell phones have ruined trucking and the generators to come. But they sure are nice when you can listen to this riding down the road! Thank you for thinking about us ole truck drivers! Much appreciated 👊
This is good music man! My Mom was so proud because you can write! You were one of her favorites. I told her what you said before she passed. Thank you
As a 3rd generation truck driver or as we call them in Australia (truckies) 🇦🇺 7 years out on the road and still crackin this song somes up the industry pretty well the Job we love the outlaw spirit behind it and the sacrifices we make to do the job we love to put food on the table hats off to ya mate it's a crackin good tune 🤙🤙
@Elvie Shane... It was such an honor to meet you at #CFF2022 in Tooele Utah! You really made my boys so happy when they came up to you in the crowd. Thank you for being so humble and down to Earth. On April 16th, we lost a Truck driving legend. He drove oversized loads most his career, but he was also a driving instructor at the local college out here in Utah, he not only taught my husband how to drive a big rig, but became a Father figure to him and made him a good man. This song touches my husband in a whole new way. God Bless You Elvie. R. I. P. Bill Hall... The rest of these miles will be in honor of you. 🇺🇲🦅❤️
I’ve had the pleasure to meet Elvie couple times and he is one fine person. He came down to see my daughter on her 7 th birthday and it made her birthday so special. I’m glad to call Elvie a friend. Such a tremendous person and talent.
I spent 30 years of my life doing that but my health took me away from what I loved which was my own fault God knows I miss driving more than anything thank you for this song because there's so much truth in it
24 years for me chasing those white lines. Before cell phones trucking was a adventure people respected you and tried to stay out of the way. But now they will move over to run over you like a cock roach 🪳 watching and listening to this gives you a little hope when you push your park brakes off there’s still good people out there! Thank you for your music it’s a blessing to listen to!
Miss mine everyday, she left our world for a better one many moons ago when I was 22. You'd think I'd be lost without her, it's been the total opposite, I truly believe she's been sending me angels from wherever because I have been blessed by the most amazing village of human souls I could never encounter throughout my lifetime and my journey is still on going. Love youuuuu mama!!! Always
Saw Elvie Shane at Countryfest last week. It was Daddy-daughter weekend for me and he didn’t disappoint. His music just hits a little different, a little deeper, a little closer to home and the heart strings. I had a firebird when i was 17. I’m a father of 4, two of which are girls. “My Boy” is fantastic, but the “My Girl” version I thought was even better. My best friend’s Dad was a truck driver and passed away a couple years ago. My friend has his old Borg-Warner odometer in his office at Bohan in Nashville with over 800k miles on it. I can still hear his Dad calling me “string” growing up. Thank you Mr. Shane
Just got a new fan from Down Under 🤙🤙been driving 30 plus years and have to say this song is one of the best I’ve heard 👍🏻doesn’t matter which country you live in, trucking takes it out of you, but we wouldn’t do anything else🚚💨💨💨
I just fell in love with your music Elvie! I live in my car in a Walmart parking lot. I already was loving truckers, but I feel so much more for their lives now that I heard and understand this song. Thank you
Saw you in Minnesota this past summer and now I can't stop listening to your music! I can feel the emotion you put into your music. Keep putting your heart into your "work" (passion) please!
Thank you for an awesome song and thanks to the Men & Women who do what they do to get us what we need on a daily basis. Stay safe out there Truckers. 😎🙏🏼
Me also and ran outlaw all my life why I'm not dead or in jail is god's plan I'm still running a 30 year old 379 don't know what a ELD is or GPS and I can still leave central VA and put them on the ground in western Kansas in 21 hours
Awesome, awesome, awesome song. Will be a #1 HIT wait and see. Elvie Shane is the greatest. He loves his hometown and shows it. We love you to Elvie Shane!! ♥️
Thank you sir. I mean that from the bottom of my soul. I've only been driving 2 years but I lost my mom earlier this year. It's been a real rough year but when I heard this song it made me realize that she is always riding beside me.
@Elvie Shane Your songs are amazing. I just heard of you today. I happened to see a video of a guy visiting his chosen mom, and it had your song attached. "My Boy" and it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you, we have 3 bonus children that we love as our own. To hear them call us mom and dad, is priceless. That song will be a plus to listen to. It's truly a timeless treasure. ❤❤
All i have to say is thank you for this powerful music you brought to every trucker out there, means a lot to me and i hope i can still learn new things from my dad before he goes
❤ this song! Reminds me of the best 'food for thought' question my dad ever asked me a few years ago. (He's now a retired life-long truck driver)Me working 12-16 hrs/day 6 days/week in construction away from home, missing out on family get-togethers & milestones he once asked me, "Baby girl, are you working to live or living to work? Moments and time with loved ones? Well life didn't come with a rewind or edit button. Really think about & evaluate that for a bit." #lovemydad ❤
Love this so much. The guitar at the end is beautiful. From the uk. I repair and drive trucks. Love the spanners and the road. Got myself a nice pickup and blast country out. Ok it aint a hemi or a f150, its an isuzu owing to fuel costs here, but i love the style and the way you do it over the pond. Love to all you truckers and your families from a uk brother.
People have no idea what it was like in the day of no cell phone or computer log crap . We ran our butts off and had to actually plan a trip on a map . Being gone with no contact except the phone in the booth at restaurant or pay phone which was expensive. Thanks for this song .
