language student and bilingual here! people 100% sound different in different languages. my biggest difference is pitch, i speak very low in french, higher in english and critically higher in german! i've found that most people who just sound exactly the same are people who do no efforts to imitate the pronunciation or accent, so sounding different usually means you're putting in the effort to respect the language and its people! love the cardi btw x
That’s so so interesting thank you for sharing your insight! 💘
Same thing happens to me! My native language is Spanish, though I would say that my Spanish voice is lower than my German voice, but my English voice is sort of raspier? I thought that was just me lol, I'm glad to know it is a normal thing
The cardigan is so sick I love it!!! And the grey top is such a staple I’m getting so much inspiration!!
Those two are definitely my favourites as well
Whats wrong with people that they hate on someone for using a different crafting tool to make a task easier?? Lol. I saw a recent video on casting off in knit stitch using a crochet hook. I tried it yesterday (casting off in purl) and holy hell its amazing! I cast on using a crochet hook (depending on the csst on type) frequently. Just. Ugh. People.
haha i know! Why wouldn’t you make things easier if you can 😅
i speak english and hungarian, i learned hungarian first, but live in the us and primarily speak english other than with family. but anyhow, i have been told the same thing! my boyfriend says i sound more high pitched in hungarian and i have been told i have a bit of an american accent when I speak hungarian. i also completely agree about feeling like you can express yourself more in english!
your knits are always so inspiring and feel classic
That’s so interesting! I’m glad i’m not the only one 🥰
100% can relate to speaking two languages and sounding different. I'm Danish but live in the UK and sound very different in the two languages. I even think it affects my personality in a way - in the same way that you say one language allows you to be more expressive. Because I grew up in Denmark, I feel more "myself" when I speak Danish.
Love Love Love the cardigan…I’ve been saying for the past year or so that I want to make a scrap cardigan…thanks for the inspiration…now moved closer to the top of my things to make list!!! Stay safe and be blessed ❤
Everything looks good & you can even dress up the grey/black top. It looks amazing!!
Thank you so much
I was so happy when you tried the gray cami the other way around because I was screaming at my screen for you to do that!! ❤
I also love to weave in with a crochethook! My ends are never long enough to use the needle so a hook works perfect
That’s it! Short ends with a needle are a nightmareee
I’m obsessed with the gray top and the cardi!!
I finally made one of those scrappy cotton raglan tees I see all over the internet. And I’m channeling your perseverance to weave in my ends!
kind of motivated to get to my pushed up patterns, but then again want to start with new ones. always a struggle.
loving the t-shirts, the baby tee is really cute!
I feel you! I have so many wips sitting around sometimes you just have time wait until the time’s right 💘
I can't stop thinking of how well a 60s outfit would look on you, like a little red straight dress, some colorful tights and big white boots and a little beret
Oh my gosh you are so talented and so young. Good for you! That pale gray sweater at the beginning is so pretty on you. Thank you. Take care.
yayy lovely to hear you're going to pride! the cardigan is so cute and will be perfect for that day :))
I am currently working on a summer blanket(giant granny square in marine tones), and i also want to make a heart granny square tote bag😊 love how the cardigan turned out🌈
So much respect for you for making a blanket, that’s real dedication 💌
With the grey top,you could perhaps use a row of single, or double crochet (UK), an i-cord edging, a knitted, or crochet lace edge, or perhaps a folded hem, if you don't want to have ribbing at the bottom. If you leave a stocking stitch edge without any treatment, or seam it will just keep rolling up like that.
Just a suggestion, but the yarn on the dark grey top could be overspun which makes it twist when knit up 😊 when I have overspun yarns I will use them for crochet projects instead of knit.
That’s so good to know, thank you for letting me know 😍
Started binging all your videos today, 10/10 good vibes. Also, thanks for reminding me that mike’s mic exists lol
thank you for watching! He’s my all time fav haha
the deima cardi is not usually my style but I am obsessed with your version! i made the mermaid top by urth by morg recently and also knit a cotton tie up cardi (used the hack it jacket pattern)
also my bf is german living in the UK and whenever he speaks German he sounds so different to me! (I can only understand a little bit of german though so maybe that's why)
Idk if someone already said this but the skewing in the grey top has to do with how the yarn is spun - sometimes there can be too much twist one way and it becomes unbalanced - and that affects the way your final piece lays especially with stockinette, since the stitches all go the same direction. The extra energy in the spin is still there and sort of moves the whole piece the other way. IIRC it can be counteracted with other stitch patterns like garter or combinations of knits and purls.
Thank you for your comment! Someone else mentioned the same which is so interesting, it seems to be fine now that I have steamed it but definitely good to keep in mind for future projects 🥰
The hdc baby tees are SO cute! Now I cannot decide if I should get that or the granny square version :')
Also, been working on the Gab Top by mmelc on and off & I looove how it looks! It's a really easy project, but because I just cannot follow instructions like a normal person, I messed up and had to do a lot of creative problem solving... it's been a few months now haha
I often struggle following patterns as well haha so I feel you! Fingers crossed you get to finish it soon 🥰
love those knitted tops, glad you got them to fit how you like & didn't give up!
i've crocheted a bunch of summer tops but yeah our summer in England is not happening is it 😅
i also got one of your oversized graphic tees! hope to get some more of your designs too 🎉
I think after the heat wave this weekend it might be it for this year 😭 thank you so much fir getting a t-shirt, i hope you love it 💌
Thumbs up! I just subscribed. That cardigan is adorable. I'm so glad I found your channel :)
I’ve been making tons of crochet headbands recently. Such a fun piece to have in the summer and there’s tons of cool tutorials here on TH-cam - just today I started working on the Lucy sweater (pattern by nastja crochets) hoping to have it done before my trip in august
That’s so pretty omg! Thanks for sharing the pattern 😍
bilingual English and French and have always had a lisp on my r’s but only in English, they sound like w’s 😂 ! So totally get it haha
I love the cardi soo much it's soo cute!! You should come out with a pattern for it :))
Thank you! I don’t think there will be a pattern just because Deima Knitwear did it first 💔
Re: speaking in a different voice in different languages, i notice it more when i am going in and out of dialects than languages - e.g. if i speak cologne dialect my voice and also the way i express my thoughts and feelings is very different to when i speak hochdeutsch. when i speak english, a lot of it is just me subconsciously mimicking/parroting my surroundings
That’s so interesting as well! I guess dialects effects the voice even more than the language itself. And tbh that’s the same as me, I literally just copy the way other people speak 😅
Omg I would love the recipe for the muesli if you’re willing to share it! Cute clothes as always💕
I always make a big batch with these measurements:
250g walnuts
200g apricots
500g soya flakes
200g oat bran
200g soy protein powder
300g wheat bran
This can taste a bit boring so I roast half of the portion in the oven until it gets a bit of colour (I don’t roast the apricots and add them to the final mix of roasted + non-roasted musli mixture)
not crochet related, but your skin looks sooo goood! I would def watch a skincare vlog!!!
Please keep us updated on the bikini progress!! I'm a 26DDD and when I tell you I've never owned a bikini top that fits my awkward size 😭
I’m currently working on the Camisole no.9 by MFTk. Hoping it’s going to be a summer staple!
omg i just looked it up and it’s gorgeous what 😍 thank you for sharing!
in your next vlog, I would love to see how you make your muesli breakfast!!! i am a vegetarian and struggle to get my protein in so i am curious :)
That’s so good to know I’ll make sure to show it soon as it’s almost time for me to make a new batch :)
my voice is much deeper when I speak English, but in my native Chinese I apparently sound like a literal child
Love all of em! Do you have a pattern for the grey top with skinny straps?🤩
Sadly not, i freehanded it on my knitting machine but lost all the footage of me making it 😭
Ah bummer, I'll try to freehand it as well 😄
Currently sewing the Willow Dress by Cinnamon Daisy designs!
That looks gorgeous! I love the low back
I loooove the cardigan so much!! Can I ask what stitches you used?
It’s double crochet (us) followed by a rows of double crochet + chain 1 :)
I speak Spanish, English, and French, and I also feel like my voice changes in each language! I feel like it's due to how you have to position your mouth to make the sounds of each language.
PS: I just finished the Florence Polo by Bec's Knits Desings while watching this video :)
Can I ask where you got the blanks for your baby tees? I've been wanting to make baby tees and haven't found a good source. Ps LOOOOVE your vlogs/videos!! always so inspiring
I found gildan 5000b to be the best ones! I originally printed with Printf but have now swapped to Gelato and i’m super happy so far :)
@@averpaula thank you!!!
do you know the yarn for the silver and chain mail like grey? the colors are so pretty
Sadly not, it was on a cone which i got in a charity shop :(
Oh my, I’m knitting a mohair jumper 😮in ‘summer’ that’s more like autumn 😂
At least you’ll be ready when autumn comes round 🥰
Omg do you have a pattern for the bandana ? Ive been wanting to knit a dress or shirt with the little cut out motifs !
I used this video and found it quite helpful: vm.tiktok.com/ZGetK7sHT/
Lol I never thought you had a lisp I just thought that’s how people from England speak 😂 love the pieces you’ve made!
Haha maybe we just all sound like this 😂
OMGGG where is that pattern for the bandana??!?!?!
I think I am no longer a beginner in crochet ,but if I don’t use stitch markers I will never get an even edge😂😂😂..So I always use use them
Honestly i’ve been crocheting for so long now and I still don’t really understand how to do the end/beginning of a row so it doesn’t in/de-crease lol
@@averpaulaSame here😂😂 , I suggest you use stitch markers for the beginning and end stitch
Working on the Ripple bralette by Jesse Mae's design. I messed up my first knit, so I'm going to try again, to redeem myself.
That looks super cute! Summer staple 🥰
I absolutely love the cardigan! I hope you had fun at pride as well 😊
I’m currently crocheting the ribbed tank top by Grace @forthefrills in a sea foam colour!
You are so gorgeous! I need to start a muesli journey bc I'm envious of your gains.
Late to the party, but also bilingual (used to speak three languages but moved away as a child so I stopped using it)- I find that the pitch varies based on the melody of the language, english is a lot more monotonous than my mother tounge, so I speak in a deeper pitch in english because my voice doesn't have to go much lower than my "base tone"
That is so so interesting because i’m the complete opposite; german is more monotone and my voice is lower, whereas in english i’m more high pitched. Language is so fascinating 😍
Also three languages is so impressive!!!
@@averpaula haha thanks, but I got them "for free" because we moved around a lot
where i live is winter, beacuse i live in Bogotá Colombia, and im working on a granny square sweater vest with leftover yarn from a knitted sweater.
sorry if my English it´s not that good, my main lenguaje is spanish
i loooove a granny square project! the perfect project to repurpose old yarn
