    Got this laptop 2 days ago for school. Coming from a 5+ year MAC user, this HP has been a dream! Super fast, amazing display, amazing webcam, the battery isn’t as good as the MacBook Air but it’s more than enough for my use case. Got it from Best Buy for $1250 or $500 off. Highly satisfied with my purchase!!

    I have the HP Spectre x360 14 2021 model. (gen before this). And it's been a dream to use. Great screen with 3:2 aspect ratio for more content, keyboard is excellent, battery life lasts all day and performance is very good for an ultra light laptop. Even with the open keyboard design I found no dust or dirt ever entering the keyboard and my model has a full size USB port instead of one with a flap. My only complaints with this laptop, trackpad is okay but not amazing, camera quality is poor but they have definitely improved that and the speakers don't sound the best out the box. You need to up the bass and treble on the equalizer on the Bang and Olufsen software. Also using Dolby Access with Atmos helps a lot. When using on bed with a charger, the laptop can get very hot and the fans will kick in almost immediately. But apart from these small complaints, it has been a very reliable and dependable laptop for school and leisure.

      I have the previous gen, too (OLED) version, and it’s one of the best laptops I’ve used over 28 years in the tech industry! The battery life suffers with that OLED screen and I wish the speakers were a bit louder, but it’s a phenomenal laptop.

      @patrickdowden 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the late 2020 Spectre X360 (13.3" screen, i7 cpu, 16GB Ram, 512GB SSD). I like it in most ways, but it has what I consider to be a very anger-inducing flaw: the keyboard backlight is hard coded to turn off after about 10 seconds. There are absolutely NO settings in BIOS or Windows to fix it. It cannot be fixed. HP has been notified of the error by dozens of users for years and has utterly failed to address it with a simple BIOS fix (which an engineering CO-OP could do in an afternoon). This flaw sounds minor, but frequently and annoyingly impacts my workflow if I'm using the laptop in any location other than a very well-lit room.

    • @anaymakan6989
      @anaymakan6989 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patrickdowden my laptop has the option in the bios to turn the backlight keyboard off every 30 seconds of inactivity. 2 minutes or never. Maybe try updating ur bios and looking for the setting

    • @tdubman
      @tdubman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@patrickdowden In the 2021 version, they increased it to 30 seconds...there's also a setting in the BIOS to change it, but I don't remember what options it has. So at least they took the feedback to improve later versions. I always just press the lower left Ctrl key to get it to come back on without actually accidentally typing something.

      @@herb414 I spent under £1200, which is like $1400 but I also got a couple of extras like the e-pen and fingerprint scanner. I don't game (and the Gen 7 maxes out at Ryzen 7 anyway) but I preferred the OLED screen if I'm using in tablet mode. I'm planning to hook it up to a monitor most of the time anyway, so not worried there. In the UK, the spectre will probably start at around £300 more expensive so it doesn't make sense to me when I can get exactly what I want and avoid any heating/fan issues with these 12 Gen chips.

No overheating issues but I've heard 12th gen is a bit hotter. I think it's smart to go Ryzen on the thin and light maxhines, especially if you care about long battery life. Thinking of telling my mom to buy this as she needs a great laptop for writing and editing documents, browsing the web, and throwing in her purse. She uses the touch screen and stylus on her now 6 year old Surface all the time, and needs something with great palm rejection

    In term of battery life which one is better?
    32Gb DDR4 in this HP VS 16Gb in Yoga 9i, is it affected much?

    I prefer Lenovo Yoga 7 14 AMD with Ryzen 6800U processor and bigger 71 Wh battery, with which you get almost 50% better battery life compared to the Spectre x360 13.5
    A crucial detail reviewers seem to miss is that the Spectre x360 comes with older "Samusng Gen 2" panel, unlike every other OLED laptop in 2022 that uses Gen 3. Gen 2 OLED has an issue where color-accuracy would change when changing the display's brightness which is a MAJOR downside at this price.

      @@MatthewMoniz the feedback was fine it just needed lots of force compared to other laptops i used. Its hard to say its a unit problem because that would have difference between the keys. I dont think its possible to have an issue with keyboard that consistent to a point where each key behaves the same. Maybe im just picky that i find it an issue but it was noticable as my wife said the same and she usually doesnt care about these things at all.
