The 1st coure does take its time introducing characters like you said, and you'll definitely see more in the next part along with some more time to shine for the people webe already met. Second half just keeps getting better! EZ has a lot of action and comedy, but I love its heart and emotional moments a lot too. And, it's a freaking space adventure, so there's endless possibilities for the weird planets they can visit. As a manga reader, I hope they continue to adapt it cause it seriously just continues to be awesome 160 chapters in.
I'm really looking forward to the second half now! And I agree that there really is endless possibilities for the planets they explore, I also might check out the manga cause I don't know if I can wait for the second part to release lol
I absolutely love Fairy Tail, and given that I love Fairy Tail, I knew I had to watch Edens Zero. Not even 2 episodes in after they leaked on TH-cam before they were supposed to debut, I was already glued. And every episode I would see every time it would debut each weekend, would leave me wanting more. Now I am sad that season 1 is ending with episode 25, but not to fret, Mashima confirmed Season 2, but as for when season 2 will debut, only time will tell. I love the refined story line, the adventure, and the characters in this anime, but I also love how the same heart and soul from Fairy Tail, was put into Edens Zero. I grew to love the characters of Fairy Tail to the point of seeing Team Natsu like family, and it's becoming the same thing with the Edens Zero crew. The characters really grow on you. You feel their joy, you share their pain as they cry tears, you relate to their anger, therefor the bonding the characters is real. I also can't get enough of the comedy, the fan service, and of course the epic fights that come with Edens Zero. But from what I hear, things will get a whole lot better as we see season 2 air next year, along with many others. Also the dub, is VERY GOOD!!!! Sean Chiplock, Kira Buckland, and Tia Ballard couldn't be anymore of a perfect match for their characters. Plus Erza and Jellal's Edens Zero's counterparts, Elsie and Justice got the same voice actors from Fairy Tail as well as Happy, so even better yet. There's a lot more to come, and I'm sure season 2 is not to disappoint.

I’ve already grown pretty fond of Edens Zero, personally, and feel as though I may enjoy it more than Fairy Tail (which would be surprising since it’s a big comfort show for me). There have definitely been loads of moments later on that were shocking!! Even some within just the second half of the first season (around ep 20 or so) I haven’t been able to stop thinking about as it genuinely surprised me in the best sort of way! Super excited to see how all the characters grow and how the series evolves (:

While I like it I won’t love it until it reaches a certain point and I can’t tell you because I don’t know if you read the manga so I don’t want to spoil it for you. Also the only reason I watched Edens Zero was because I watched Fairy Tail and loved it so that’s why I read the manga and watched the anime and I’m glad I did it

Also I think that the last arc was not as good as it could have been, and I say that because I saw some ways that could have made it better. And I don’t think the arc was bad I just think it wasn’t as good as some of the other arcs were, but I really like the last few chapters and I can’t wait to see what comes next
If you liked the first half you will love the 2nd part, from episode 17 to 25 the story gets sooo good, idk why netflix didn't release all the episodes at once

It's great. I actually do love Fairy Tail despite its flaws but I love both series for their different aspects and stories.

Great review However I would like to make some corrections or comments Shiki currently has a motivation to go in search of The Mother, not only does he claim to have met her before and is curious as to why but later on when he is told that Ziggy searched for The Mother too and failed he intends to find her to lead to fulfillment his grandfather's unfulfilled wish and also as a means to overcome him, as he failed to do so before he died And the motivation will change again in the second season, and the other characters will also have their own motivation to participate in this journey

I think Edens Zero is great and it's Mashima's best work so far. For me personally, I'm a sucker for good characters and powerful themes, which is why I loved Fairy Tail despite the plot inconsistencies. This show focuses more on the world rather than the characters yet the vibe of Fairy Tail is still there when watching. Just because there were stumbles in Mashima's previous work doesn't mean he can't make quality work like EZ. People shouldn't attach FT's faults to this show/manga without even reading/watching it.
