What's The MOST Possible Damage In Pokemon?

  • There are plenty of strong moves in Pokemon, but more importantly for this video, there are a lot of ways to modify damage, including glitches. Rollout storage allows you to multiply any attack's damage by 32, which is the basis of this setup to do the most damage in a single hit. With the help of a... level 88 Camerupt, 2 Shuckle, Sacred Fire, and an attack stat that isn't even maxed out, let's see how it's possible to deal 2 billion damage in Pokemon, but not much more than that.

    I’d honestly really like to see a video about the highest hypothetical damage possible by ignoring the 2 billion limit, it’s a interesting topic I’ve never seen covered before

    • @MEPlaysGames
      @MEPlaysGames  ปีที่แล้ว +17

      I would love to make that as well, but be warned that I likely wouldn't come up with the right answer. This video was made possible by the fact that other people figured out all this stuff about Rollout storage and damage calculation a long time ago. I can do my best but you'd have to take that video with a grain of salt

    i remember the old way to get way to get over a billion damage with Paras from way back when, of course, i don't think that took the damage cap into account

    isn’t a level 1 smeargle with more than 1 move technically illegal? it doesn’t get access to 4 copies of sketch until level 31

    • @MEPlaysGames
      @MEPlaysGames  ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Don’t quote me on this, but I think you can use Sketch, then once it’s replaced with another move, you can go to the Move Reminder and they’ll give you another copy of Sketch. I’m not sure though, could also be some breeding shenanigans I’m not familiar with

      I'm sure it is possible to get the move back with the Move Reminder.

    Last respects?
    Theoretically if you could go above 2b

    • @MEPlaysGames
      @MEPlaysGames  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Maybe, but I'm not currently aware of a setup to make that work. Rollout storage doesn't exist in gen 9, ghost type moves aren't boosted by the sun, Helping Hand doesn't stack anymore, and you can't make a Pokemon 8x or 16x weak to ghost. Plus Last Respects maxes out at 100 fainted teammates, which would be absolutely horrible to set up. I'm not even sure it's possible to max out Last Respects' power without bag items, because you would need to use Revival Blessing at least 95 times to max out its power, and the move only has 1 power point. Maybe there's some clever finagling you can do with Recycle and Leppa Berries, but I'm not sure

      @@MEPlaysGames those are good points, i think you can get 100 fainted if you get 2 pokemon with revival blessing maybe

    So according to Powertricks description, Shuckle and Medicham are the same

    • @MEPlaysGames
      @MEPlaysGames  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Right, about that. I make move graphics as I need them, and I’d mentioned Power Trick in a previous video so I already had one handy. In gen 9 the only Pokemon that can learn it is Medicham, as Shuckle isn’t obtainable in Scarlet and Violet. So that’s why it says Medicham specifically. I didn’t catch that the Power Trick graphic said Medicham till after I’d rendered the video. It was a pretty minor mistake so I decided to just leave it be

    so this is a video about a 6year old outdated reddit post. the author of that post fixed their error later. this bug was only possible in showdown, not in any gen7 game and was fixed in showdown over 5years ago... the actual dmg cap in any game after gen2 (i have no clue about gen1 and 2) is actually 65535
    do your research before posting clickbait that is plain wrong

    And I thought a ghost tera Skeledirge with will-o-wisp and hex against a 4x ghost weak Pokémon was high damage...
    Hex has 65 base power
    Will-o-wisp causes status problem doubling hex to 130, the ghost tera gives a 2x STAB instead of the usual 1.5 so that doubles hex to 260, then hitting a 4x weak pokemón makes it 1040, and if it's a crit it goes up to 1560 power

    imagine using counter on this

    • @MEPlaysGames
      @MEPlaysGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well thanks to the damage cap, I believe using a Focus Sash and countering this hit would do roughly the same amount of damage. Don't quote me on that though, I'm not sure if the cap applies to Counter and those kinds of moves

      counter only does double the damage taken, so unless you have a mon with enough hp to survive all that somehow, counter wouldnt do much

    • @Xbob42
      @Xbob42 ปีที่แล้ว

      @sheeplol2161 Does sturdy or focus sash actually prevent all but 1 damage or does all the damage get applied, but HP is set at 1? Does all the damage get dealt but then it adds 1HP back?
      I assume based on your reply that it's common knowledge (based on low HP Pokemon with focus sash using counter and not dealing insane damage I bet?) but I personally don't know.
      Or does it "deal" all the damage but only n - 1 (n being the defending Pokemon's max HP) damage is "applied" and counter only works off "applied" damage?

    • @MEPlaysGames
      @MEPlaysGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      I left another reply to this comment, but I deleted it because I wasn't sure about that very thing. This whole hypothetical depends on whether the full damage is actually applied and just blocked by the Focus Sash or not. I'll do some testing at some point and find out
