Leonna herself brought me here. She handed me her CD after I saw her open for the Counting Crows way back in the day. She is such an amazing talent and should have been recognized for it. Love her.
He's the kind of guy who's always passin' by And never has time to spend And he'll take you for a spin And won't look within to find out who you are And he numbs himself with weed, he's from the coldest breed Who judge by what they see And I thought he was smart enough to know that the girl on his arm will Never calm his storms Watch out! He'll charm you. Smoother than the L.A. weather, that's how he holds himself together He's colder than the winter, I wrap my coat around to better Counteract his charm attack that leaves me hungry well, I'm no savior, but I tried to save you Ooh.. my.. love It's raging high inside And he has his minions with no real opinions ‘cause they only walk on glass And your lies become the truth And give me proof that you really care And with your gorgeous friend you have the world so dim Believe an and everything you say Watch out! He'll charm you. Smoother than the L.A. weather, that's how he holds himself together He's colder than the winter, I wrap my coat around to better Counteract his charm attack that leaves me hungry well, I'm no savior, but I tried to save you Ooh.. my.. love It's raging high inside Smoother than the L.A. weather, that's how he holds himself together He's colder than the winter, I wrap my coat around to better Counteract his charm attack that leaves me hungry well, I'm no savior, but I tried to save you Ooh... ooh Ooh... ooh And he stamps out every emotion and He dampens each and every explosion He dampens each and every explosion Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh Ooh
411VM Best of 7. way back when, over 10 years ago... this song, love this song, favorite parts of Best of 7 is thanks to this song. really made it for me!
In high school, I had a situationship with this girl that was infatuated with me, but I was pretty naive and had a wall up around me. One night we were driving around in the dark and this song came on. She said "This song reminds me so much of you" and laughed. I listened to it and remember being really pissed. Listening to it again (I love melody and lyrics), I got that same feeling, especially the second verse, but could see myself in some of it. It was sort of flattering that someone saw me as a "bad boy" because I was far from it. As an LA boy through and through, the chorus is amazing and I can even picture the scene in my mind. "Watch out! He'll charm you! Smoother than the LA weather That's how he holds himself together He's colder than the winter I wrap my coat around to better Counteract his charm attack that Leaves me hungry well I'm no savior but I tried to save you with All my love. That rages high inside."
..this track is all about the gent in grade/higher school who was this beautiful man-child who winked at you in the halls and called you gorgeous or something blushingly encouraging for no good bloody reason in the hallways and you swear to this day that they will and always be the most magical of creatures ever. Thank you for putting to words musically the most magical creature to exist for a young lass in school.
Fyi, she is Diana Ross' step-daughter.......and a superb talent. Her self-titled 2003 disc is stellar, if not unnoticed by the star-making machinery behind the popular song ( thanks Joni)...
Such a great song. Can never listen to it just once. The only flaw here is that this is the radio edit (30 secs cut out). The album version is the way to go.
Just threw on Whatever It Takes, and it takes me back to the night of my first kiss, which was on the night I saw this movie with that first kiss girl. Still loving it in 2020.
I only heard this song once in my life 10+ years ago. I heard in on the radio while I was in a Dairy Queen Parking lot in Boaz Alabama. I remembered the lyrics which is how I found it here. That is how strongly recalled this song. Nice to hear it again.
I've loved leona naess for so long. I hope she comes out with something new soon. my favorite album is her self titled one with ballerina... she is a really nice song writer... feminine soft with an edgy touch... or is it a touchy edge haha
She played a few gigs in New York a year or so ago, she did say online that she was making a comeback. I saw her years ago at The Black Cat in D.C, she was the support act, I went to see her not the main act, after her set she went to the back of the venue and sat at a table to sign autographs. She was so nice, signed my cds and a small promo poster I pulled off the wall, she asked my name then signed the cds "To Robert love Leona Naess"....of course now I can't sell them, unless the buyer is also called Robert. Great performer and person. I wish she would tour again.
One good song does not, a career, make. If Leona Ness had anything more to say to the world, her music would have transcended her contract. One hit wonders are one hit wonders.
It is still the catchiest song of the late 90's/early 2000's era here and now in 2024.
90's babies know how we treasure these precious memories from the early 2000's 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙌🏻🙌🏻
I love the 90/00’s vibes of songs like this, and the movies too, somehow they touch me
You made the most 90s song ever! We all still love you!
Do u know that it released in 2000 ??
I'm not a 90s kid but i freaking love Whatever It Takes for some unknown reason. It really has a charm attack on me.
It was an underrated movie. It was arguably better/funnier than some of the teen comedies of the era, she's all that, 10 things I hate about you, etc.
man, I fucking love dat atmosphere of that years. When I am watching movies of 90s 00s my soul feels lovely)
It was certainly a decent movie. Not a classic but pretty solid
Yes WHATEVER IT TAKES is so cuuuuuteee!!!!
I am a 90's kid. It's an amazing song. 😊
Only 1K like?? Are you kidding me!!! This still rocks in 2018!
Leonna herself brought me here. She handed me her CD after I saw her open for the Counting Crows way back in the day. She is such an amazing talent and should have been recognized for it. Love her.
This is a really classy song. It's delivered with raw expression and with a remarkable voice. Fantastic, Leona!
I was in high school when whatever it takes came out 😊loved it so much and even now.

I was looking up a final fantasy 6 reference in Google and this video popped up here. Lol, nice 90s throwback!❤
I love this song back in 1998 when it first came out on vh1 and MTV
this song perfectly describes the personalities of Ashley Grant and Chris Campbell in the movie "whatever it takes".🤔
Nostalgia Attack
She had to have written this song about Libras. They are the biggest charmers out there, they are pros at it!
