Thanks for the video. Quite interesting to note the difference between Ballard Lock and the locks we transited on the Erie Canal. The Erie Canal locks did not have sliding bars on the walls -- you had to grab gross old ropes hanging from the top of the locks. You did NOT cleat them -- you had to hold onto them and either slide your hands down them if you were dropping or pull up on them if you were rising. Gloves were a must!
