- Taken from this Gibson Jazz party video ( • Gibson Jazz Party ), thanks also goes to the Watrous facebook fan page and jazz trombone facebook page for pointing out that they were in this video
Great transcription, chords too of this playing! • [JAZZ] Cotton Tail, Rh... - เพลง
My three favorite t-bone players doing it up right. Frank Rosolino will always be my favorite.
This is THE reference for jazz trombone players.

what i wouldve given to see this live
OMG HOW TF!!! This should be past a MILLION views!! 💎 at its finest
Trombone GOLD!
whoa, the three boys altogether!
Doesn’t get better than that
you can see Al Grey jammin in the background
ITS FUNNY!
HE is NOT jamming! The 3 bone players are jamming...NOT Al!
Shame they left him out
its embarrasing to see Al as a background guy, but these 3 were way out of his league!
Precious: Only one is alive : Bill Watrous!
William Russell Watrous III (June 8, 1939 - July 2, 2018)
RIP
Watrous is gone now but never forgotten.
A very lively, swingin’ trio of tailgate/bone players having a jammin’ ball! Great stuff. G’day & Cheers!
Tres de los más grandiosos trombonistas en la historia del Jazz!!

Cuatro! Al Grey debe ser incluido
How about Jack Teagarden and Tommy Dorsey???
Before Watrous was wont to place the mike up his bell which muffled his truly magnificent sound. Why in later years in the name of God did Bill do this? He had the best natural trombone sound of anyone.
Because he was insane
I’d love to hear JUST their mics !
I love the band buuuuuut…
That’s some playin’ !!
😊❤️🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
"La classe non è acqua...".❤

how do YOU know? Nah, I believe its Al Grey!

@xc vaxtromb Rossolino was a piece of shit. His killed one of his sons and blinded the other. I hope he rots in hell.
@@garylancaster4233 He was also suffering from sever depression dude
Depends what 'who is the best' actually means? They are ALL incredible. However, Bill Watrous did once say that FR was in another league in terms of 'he could play ANYTHING, in ANY key'...like Cherokee in B, or Have You Met Miss Jones in E!
carl nailed his part
Watrous got the best sound
Rosolino was the more thrilling imo.
Frank was the most jazziest player and made somethng new
Add Urbie Green to this trio and you've have the 4 greatest jazz trombonists who ever lived. Amazing to see these guys on stage together considering we lost Frank in 1978
I'd think they'd add Jay Jay Johnson to that list.
I'm beginning to learn there is no greatest trombonist---- too many giants/monsters!
Don Lusher was no slouch!
Add Kai Winding and Curtis Fuller as well
You are forgetting me (-:
Like hearing 3 gods.
Awesome clip . Was this Nov. 1978?

Is there a name for this song? Or performance? Or something, anything? Cuz this was amazing
The tune (heard briefly at the end of this clip) is Duke Ellington's "Cottontail'
Kampioenen ❤
Saw this great transcription - check it out! th-cam.com/video/CBGrmlPuJtM/w-d-xo.html
Did they do a whole set together? Is it available anywhere?
3 mostri
this is basically Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen, and Jimmy Page jamming out. How the hell is it only 41k views???
I knew Bill Watrous's best friends, dentists, dog walkers, psychiatrist's mailman. Really nice guy, who ended up in jail, for stealing Social Security checks. I relish the notoriety of being a "name-dropper"

What is Angela doing at 1:19
Looks like she just did a 7gram rock.
@@richardwigley WHO IS SHE?
Saying "Jazz is stupid! Just play the right notes!"
This is a really obscure reference. I love it.
Screwing dwight
I find it funny that my old buddy Al Grey is reduced to the role of standing around playing bandleader and screwing up those nice "fours" by bringing in the much too loud band in and covering up the fours with raucousness.......
He's not reduced to anything! He's recognizing that these 3 cats, at that moment, should have the stage. Al is a fantastic player, but sometimes ya gotta step back and let it happen. I'd say the same about any of my 3 friends playing there also!
