  • Hello again everyone, today we’ll be making liquid soap paste to store and dilute for later use. It is a 60% Coconut / 40% Olive oil recipe. It is gentle yet super effective at cleaning not only yourself, but your dishes, clothes, floors, surfaces, bathroom and anything that need a good natural clean. It’s a fantastic all-purpose recipe
    It can take anywhere from 4-8 hours to cook the paste, it depends on temperature, I like to leave mine on low and let it cook for longer (Just a personal preference)
    Thanks for watching and happy soap pasting!

      Thanks Julie, much appreciated. It can seem intimidating at first I know I felt that way at the beginning, it took me a while to build the courage and attempt to make my first batch of LS, but glad I did 😁😁🙏🙏

    Dear George great video and explained so beautifully. I was really scared to have a go but now you have helped me to try, thank you.
    How can I scent this soap for use as a hand soap, can I use fragrance from candle making or essential oils and how much please?

    • @DawnOrganics

      Hi Saju. Thank you. You will have to check whether or not the fragrance is skin safe and find out their usage rates you can ask the supplier. I will also provide some links with dermal limits for essential oils. www.theresaneoforthat.com/maximum-dilution-for-400-essential-oils/ & www.aromaweb.com/articles/dilutingessentialoils.asp 👍🙏

    Hi George, what a fantastic video, loved seeing the process! I use your liquid paste in a foam pump bottle as a hand wash and I love it. Now for all my questions lol -
    Is the 3:1 ratio you mentioned ok for hand wash? For some reason I remembered you saying somewhere to do a 6:1 for hand wash?
    What should the final pH be of the paste?
    Do you keep the crockpot on Low or High temp?
    You mention in the video you add salt but it isn't included in the recipe in the description box?
    And lastly, I see some people use Shea, Cocoa butter etc in their pastes, what benefits do they add? Is it just the feel of the end product? It seems like you version might be more cleansing with the coconut oil? Thanks in advance and have a lovely day 🥰

      @DawnOrganics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you kindly. Yes 3:1 is fine for hand wash. 6:1 for foaming hand wash as water thin consistency is required for it to dispense properly. Final PH 8-9, I don't add salt anymore to my LS recipes, so ignore that. The butters add a creamy silky lather like in bar soap

    Great video can't wait to watch the cold process. What's shelf life for soap paste ?? Have seen most advise to store in fridge???🤔

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you 🙏 you can store in fridge most definitely it will of course increase its shelf life. I've had paste well past 6 months and it was still perfectly fine. As long as it's airtight and away from moisture and humidity it will be fine. I have read it lasting well over a year in those conditions. I don't see why it wouldn't to be honest. If your using fresh ingredients with long shelf life also i.e carrier oils it should be good. A lot of supermarket oils can have only a few months left of them it not be the best quality, your inputs make a difference also 🙏

    Hey George, I was wondering if you did a cold process video for this soap paste? I think I could piece it together if I knew what to add and when according to the recipe. Thank you so much. Have a blessed day 😊

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Greetings Lacey. It's definitely hot process. I uses a crock pot in this video. Keep cooking until it reaches translucent stage and it's ready. You can add some glycerine to speed things up. Can make paste in a few hours with 100g of glycerine added to the oils (per 1kg of oil) before adding the lye water 🙏

    Hi George, wanting to make a cold process 100% coconut oil liquid dish cleaning soap....can I leave it to harden on its own over time at light trace itself like the soap bars... Or do I need to go through the entire effort until it thickens while I am stirring it.....I am not going to use a stick blender, doing it manually with a whisk.... that's why asking

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can absolutely make cold process liquid soap, you'll have to achieve a really thick trace with a stick blender, and then cover it well to trap the heat, stir every few hours, it will be ready anywhere between 24-48 hours. I make CP cocoa butter LS, turns out perfect every time and retains it's chocolate smell. Whisk won't work, need a stick blender, very important

    • @karan25535
      @karan25535 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DawnOrganics thank you George, gonna try it soon 🙏.....and when u say, stir it every few hours after it has completely solidified and covered/left to mature over 48 hours in the heat.....do u mean stir it gently for 5-10 seconds using a whisk/ladle/spoon as I believe stick blender will no longer work in that hard consistency.

    I’ve made them last night and it took 5hours. The soap paste is made however the glycerine isn’t dissolved into the soap paste. I’m sure some did, but now it’s a sticky wet and dripping glycerine mess! Hahahah! Any advice? Should I recook it again?😊

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there, oh that's so cool. That's okay if it's wet and sticky it will still store and dilute totally fine. The trick is to add it after the mashed potato stage, it fully dissolves in and turns into a nice paste. Either way it will be totally fine to use so not to worry, won't go to waste 🙏🙏🙏

    Hi George can I use Beef Tallow for liquid soap?

  • @paulalynrider4009
    @paulalynrider4009 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Did you use a dual lye solution, or only KOH?
    Also, would you still do the glycerin add if you knew you would only use to make cleaning soap and not hand soap?

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Greetings Paula, only KOH for this recipe. Glycerine is a mild cleaning agent also, and good for lifting stains so it has it's benefits in terms of cleaning. You can go without it's just an optional additive. I quite like using it even for cleaning, it also doubles up as been much softer on the skin and hands too 🙏

      Hi Paula. I'll like to add something else to the mix also. I have read people saying even their diluted liquid soap when stored away doesn't last more than 6-12 months. I have used some of my liquid soap after two and a half years and it was still perfect. I use shelf life oils of minimum 2 years and usually harvested the same season when I purchase. I believe that makes a big difference for soap paste and diluted liquid soap 🙏

      @@DawnOrganics , thanks for the added insights George! I'll keep it in mind. At the moment it's not a issue of how long it will last for me, as I use it up fast even if I make a large amount. When I'm not soaping I clean houses for a living, and now that I am a soaper I'm using my own products for my work. Hoping to switch that narrative up one day soon though!

      Would there be a difference if you substitute all your water with glycerine at the start? And the benefit of putting them in at the end? Thanks! Loving your videos!

    • @DawnOrganics
      @DawnOrganics  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can do that, you have to heat the glycerine though and mix in the lye slowly as it's on heat. I haven't done it personally that way but have seen other's on TH-cam do it. It wouldn't work for me because I add citric acid & sugar and they will be too difficult to dissolve in Glycerine. 🙏🙏🙏
