I just started sewing again and have found the Friday Pattern Co patterns to be great. I will have to look for this book and see what I can sew! Good luck with your skirts!!
Next time you go to the fabric store get one of those fold up cardboard cutting things. Just looked it up, and it's the Dritz Foldable Superboard. It's cardboard, and it folds up. It's popular because it's good.
When ever you do something for the first time you’re always going to struggle and gradually you’ll improve little by little and be able to see you’re mistakes beforehand
For the hem, if you iron down 3cm and then fold that top down to 2cm, the hem line will be 2cm and you can just sew it on the sewing machine. No handsewing required. Much easier and faster. Just need an iron ruler

Sergers are really hard for me to make inward curves and inward corners are a definite no. Keep at it.
Right I will NOT be doing that again 😭🫣❤️
UGH. buttonholes. But, yeah. Any sewing project includes making up new swears as you rip something out.
No LITERALLY 😭😭😵💫
