What I really love is that song song and the song that players when you get the blades of chaos in the first game perfectly encapsulates your comment on both

This theme hits all the way harder when you've at the very least played God Of War 3 and seen his journey from an anti-hero to a pure hero. From a vengeful warrior to a wise General. I had chills this entire scene and was grinning ear-to-ear during this whole sequence. Hats off, General Kratos.

He is righteous in his vengeance, and his anger is...understandable. and let's be honest the Greek pantheon wronged him a LOT and that itself warrants rooting for Kratos. However, I see the argument for villain too. He has no regard for unarmed, defenseless humans, and his destruction of Olympus also caused destruction of the Greek realms.
I remember playing Ghost of Sparta, and having the Shield and Spear, this was just incredible to add into the game, and most of the movesets came from it too. Love Draupnir a lot, GOW LOVE BABY!!
It’s fitting because it was a conscious decision this time to kill Heimdall. It was a time to be the Spartan ghost again. Time to be the warrior , the general and the destroyer of gods. A father ready to do whatever must be done for his son’s life.
This theme grew on me. When I played the game I thought it was kinda meh. But now, listening to it without dialogue and battle sounds, it feels so much better and superior!
“What do you even know of Godhood? In your lifetimes, has anyone ever worshipped you? Ever prayed to you?” Oh how the tables have turned, Odin. I consider this track to actually be the theme for the Kratos we see in the mural at the end of the game
The nordic god of war (Tyr) used a spear. For GOW Raknarog, Kratos using a spear represents that he is the new nordic god of war that commands the army against Odin.
I hear some of Svartalfheim’s theme in here. Very fitting! That realm and Asgard were my favorites from this game. Alfheim was my favorite realm from 2018’s GoW. Still a good runner up here.

He was pretty damn close to being a full villain in GoW3.
Honestly, anti hero is generous. Greek Kratos was pretty much a straight up villain.

Lots of low tones, a steady rhythm, Kratos' leitmotiv, booming drums... a perfect theme for the perfect Spartan weapon.
In the song Revenge and Redemption, Kratos is described as a shield bearer and wielding a spear.
