Christians seriously lack any imagination whatsoever when they believe there's no meaning to their lives without your "god." I don't even think you actually believe that. It's just a way to swing at non-believers again. Purpose in life is found by a mix of your values, your interests, and your passions in life. Add that to your skills and talents. Voila! Meaning in your life. And with the advantage of being customizable to you - not some blanket and vague "to glorify god."
I think that's to confuse enjoyment and satisfaction with meaning, which still exists when all those things are stripped away. It's easy to think values, interests and passions give meaning when you assume long years of life ahead of you but if there were just a month to live I think they would greatly diminish in importance. However for the Christian a month to live is a glorious and exciting prospect, albeit with pain on the way.
Really enjoying the recent interviews Luke- keep up the good work!
V kind, thanks!
Thank you for hosting such an encouraging conversation!
Pleasure!

Thanks Jenna it's an interesting one. You might find the episode with Dr James Orr of interest. He goes into some of these topics in more detail.
