Please stay encouraged i had a lawn care service for over 10 years and last year my health went bad due to stress mentally and physically i let all my customers go and im now working a normal job however over the past 8 months God has blessed me to get alot of my debts paid down and my health is slowly recovering i know that one day i will have another business and i will learn from all my mistakes and do better next time Hindsight is 20/20. And God is good Praying for you to have clarity
Aye, I haven’t gotten off the ground, I have a 6 color press for at least three years now …. It’s in the corner of the garage… Business, is an up and down rollercoaster from what I hear, you got this far, I definitely have faith in you finding a way👍🏾👍🏾
Thank you for the encouragement. I plan to vlog my process of turning my business around. I think it will be helpful to people starting out and struggling to stay afloat like me.
So I made this mistake, I too started a shirt business. Purchased a 12 needle embroidery machine, DTG machine, sublimation machine and a few others and it failed because right when I started it was in 20219. Then boom everyone started making shirts and knocked me outta the water 😢. Now I’m sitting with equipment I don’t even used and spent at least 30k on in cash.
Wow! Just before covid. I will not let my business go without a fight. I will be documenting everything I do towards my business for the next 6 months. Hopefully I can rejuvenate mine and help others in the same situation.
Sin you did basket making briefly and it can consume your life but those special holidays- Valentines, Easter, Mother’s Day can give you the boost you need in between Tshirt season. You are great at everything you do, you have faith and you’re a good person. You’ve always given good tips and advice and you will rise above everything before the six months is up.
Thank you for your honesty. Small businesses are struggling every where. It’s nothing you have done. People are not spending. Good luck. You have a good plan. I hope things work out for you.
Sin sorry to hear about the rough patch. Happy to see that you're staying positive and sharing your experience. Hope things pick up and we're here if we can help in any way.
I feel where you coming from and I’m going through the same thing but I give you all the respect in the world for sharing this with us because it’s a lot of people out here going through the same thing but there pride want let them come forward. But like they say half of the battle is knowing where we slipped up
Put your mind together, don’t give up. I have two business 1 for 29 years the other ( printing shop) for 3 years. I love your videos and a lot from you. Keep the head wet for the Dtf printed . Do not give up!! Gods bless
Both printers are gone. It was a crazy issue with one not reading chips anymore that no one I talked to haa ever seen. Thank you for the encouragement!
Please don’t consider this as failure. Consider it a pivot, and shift and build upon your new insight. You can do it. Promote your business, look at the advice that others are offering, and build upon that. Wake up each day and know that you can do it. Best wishes!
I appreciate the advice and support! I have went over the thangs I was doing when my business was flourishing and am in process of working to get back where it was before all of this.
Thank you for your transparency. I've wanted to start a craft business, but have not because of my own fear. A lot of people are selling t-shirts, a lot of people are making them as you stated. Take the 6 months to reflect, if God gave this to you, one door closed may mean others are being opened. Keep the faith and keep your head up! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I wish that one day I can reach the level you're on. It's a lot of us started a business without knowing anything. Have you thought about doing hoodies and joggers which most younger people love to wear during winter?
I do those. I did a video a while back of one. People just have not been spending much money. I am working on some things for the upcoming year to reboot my business. I will be vlogging so it can help others. Thanks for the tips!
TH-cam recommended this video to me. I never saw any of your videos before, but I just want to say regardless of the outcome, I am proud of you. It takes a whole lot of courage to not only start a business, but be vulnerable enough to post your low points. I can't really give any signifcant advice, but what I can say is that things happen for a reason; whether or not we can see the reason in real time at the moment. Everything you've accomplished and learned to this point was for a reason and it will reveal itself in due time. Continue to apply yourself, do research, ask for help, and learn from whatever mistakes you may have made, and SOMETHING will come of it. Good luck.
The little I can offer you from my marketing degree is that you should analyze what's happening not only to your business, but in your industry, to your customers, and the world as a whole and where your business falls within that. Within the last 4 years or so, more and more online businesses have gained traction that allow people to order custom clothing without minimums. Not being able to get 1 or even just 5 items from a big company is what kept the in-person businesses alive. What will be the key to your success is analyzing what YOU uniquely do well OR a specific kind of customer whose unique needs you can serve. I hope this helps.
Hey, what we do is Walmart Spark, DoorDash, Uber eats driver and etc. Use side gigs to stay going not only during slow months but slow days and weeks. Good luck on your journey
Have you thought about getting with the Dept of Education and opening a non-profit training program or school for kids maybe afterschool or in school to teach them or opening up an in person school for adults in the evenings after work? Just a suggestion. You would definitely do well. I want to learn myself. On another note, the economy is uncertain and ppl are shopping for cheap clothing.. Temu, Shein.. I think when Trump puts those taxes in place more ppl will shop in the USA so get your supplies up and get ready and don’t ever EVER give up. Make sure whatever you do, direct all of your sales towards God’s work in one way or another. Much love to you ❤
Yess through the Library they have Embroidery machines, Sublimation, HTV, Laser printer etc…..They have to do a class on the machine they want to learn and can use the machine just bring their own supplies
True! Inventory is one of the things Im working on. I don't have any craft cutters to teach on which os what most locals have. I would also have to learn to use them myself.
14:16 I’m sorry about the DTF printer messing up. Order transfers. I don’t have an embroidery machine or a DTF printer, but I use wholesale venders and press with my heat presses. I have three presses and a handheld that I can easily transport, as well as three mini heat presses including the new HTVRONT mini 3 digital with the timer. You got this! May the Lord Jesus bless you and your business abundantly beyond what you can imagine. Amen.
When people come in wanting 1 or 2 shirts its not possible to screen print every order. I still do screen printing but I use the best and most economic process for each order so I make a good peofit. If I only do screen printing I would have to turn away orders that are too small
Theres alot of business plan examples online. It's just like a resume. Are there any small business administration offices close by. Also, wear your business on your shirts where ever you go. Magnetic sign on your car. Just a thought. Your videos are great.
Thank you for the tips, I appreciate it. I usually do wear my business on my shirts. We dont have one but we have a different organization. They tried to get me to sign up several years ago when I first started but I didnt
After 2022 were all in the same boat sister my prayers to you and to all the good people who are struggling today to keep up with their work, business and even family’s may God change things around may everything change to good in 2025 🙏 best wishes
if you don't advertise your business, you will one day advertise it going out. During the winter or whenever it slows down, I'm actually thankful because it is then I have time to think, strategize, organize and work on marketing materials. I make sure we have plenty of brochures, flyers, website is updated and cleaning up and organizing. But we never buy any new equipment unless we can pay for it in cash up front. I never ever want to feel like I have to work in any given day because we need to make payments on machinery. as popular as DTF is, we still don't have a dtf or dtg printers and 78k subscribers.
As I said in the video the equipment purchases hurt my biz in a way once things were slow. I realize that I stopped doing some things that worked for me in the past. Thanks for the tips!
Unfortunately Sin this business is so saturated especially with dtf and vynal that everyone is getting into it. I sold my screen printing equipment because I just couldn't make much money. I hope you get it back on track
never give up, continue to plan, grow, pivot and prepare for the future of Ai. Try to understand Ai and how to use your experience in business to consulting, webinars etc.
There is no such thing as "failure". It's just one way not to do things. One door closes another one will open. Keep your equipment as best as you can.
Do you think it's because so many others are making shirts/crafting? It's soooo many others that's doing it and don't really know what they are doing but just want a piece of the pie it takes away from those who genuinely design and take this to heart. Even etsy is selling designs and they can just print and press.
Can you extend your customer base? Serve other states and/or specific industries? Maybe focus on bigger screen printing jobs so you can comfortably turn away those small jobs. This is what I had to do to save my business too.
I would love to not have to take small jobs because I feel that they are often not worth the time it takes but, at this time I need any and all sells I can get. I take orders from anywhere in the U.S. I have printed for out of state customers. The thing now is that I don’t have any and not too many in state either. I’m working on my 6 month plan to get things back going. The slow normal time is coming up so I’m getting things together so I am ready for Spring.
focus on one core item. you be ok. have a weekly sales goal. sponsor some.eventa that you can make 25 to 50 percent low margin profits one every 3 months. you be ok mama. just struggle of running business. always remember its high and low days always. printing work is seasonal so create work for slow period.
Praying for you as well , now that I know I’m not the only small business owner, who knew nothing about business, I just love crafting , I do go to craft shows to help get my business out there I don’t have a web site bc you got to pay for that as well. If I can help you in any way please message me . I’m on my 3rd printing head I learned to use a dehumidifier in the room with my DTF machine I had to take it from out of the garage where it was getting cold and bring it back into the house.
Screen printing is much more specialized than DTG, and I am wondering if you can offer your services to school, hospital and other organizations for fundraising? since you have an embroidery machine, it’s also a big asset to your business. Maybe you can use them for personalized items.
That's how my bueiness was successful for the 15 years. People just stopped patronizing me. I feel because of economy and custom t-shirts are not a necessity

Hello Syn have you considered selling screen print transfers wholesale? I would be your first customer. What about getting into that chenille patch business. We are still with you and we know your faith will bring prosperity and favor. You will be back on top!!
