I didn't know if I would be able to watch this. I have this weird thing that, to put it lightly, I'm not crazy about - after a design is finished the designer goes on to chop the pillow. Thank you for letting them sit natural. I really like the "mismatched" perfectly worked combos.
I thought it was just me! I absolutely hate it when they do that, and it seems to be a trend now too, keep seeing pics of pillows chopped down the middle. Does not look nice.

I have purchased about 20 pillows and nothing looks right. I bring them home and need to return them because I am trying to match the color in the rug with the cream and blue and this leaves the gold color out. I tried gold pillows and they just blend into the sectional.

I have lots of picture styles that i love to keep. My couch is that cream color so i should start with a dark pillow. Ok , got that. But what color ? Maybe the color of my chairs ? They are a navy . So should i start there ? Then what a velvet for Traditional ? I need some help. Ive looked for around 10 days now.
You can also start with a cream color pillow. Love the tonal look. Develop a tight color palette of 2-4 colors and play off of those. I think Navy is a great start! We have more tips on the blog!

Just another thing that came to mind: make sure to consider the fill of your pillows. I got a duck feather filled pillow that is SO comfy but always sags if I don't re-fluff it after I get off the couch!
Yep and what doesn't make sense is.... These new "designers" are creasing (or sagging) their pillows in the middle as if to look like they need to be fluffed. It does not look quite fashionable to put a fluffed pillow on the couch then push a crease in the middle as if to not look fluffed.. HGTV must have started this nutty fad.
What is the deal with folks now creasing their throw pillows in the middle? It just looks plain stupid! Someone must have seen this fad on HGTV which always starts "fads" like granite, stainless steel, etc.
