I like the Theory that Yuji is heavenly restricted by not having his own inate technique, Kenjaku likely made him to be the best of all worlds, having a maybe unawakened heavenly restricted body like maki but rather than his ce being taken, his cursed technique gets taken, while having the ability to be a walking cursed object that's able to obsorb multiple techniques that technically don't really belong to him, that has potential to become the next evolution of a sorcerer, a sorcerer that is everything the world of Jujutsu has to offer
This makes perfect sense, given that he definitely should have had a technique as the son of Kenjaku/Kaori's body. It could also tie into the twin theory though, like what if Sukuna's black box WOULD have been Itadori's but it was taken, so the world gave Yuji an advantage in another way.

I think that's right on the money, *except* I don't think it's technically a "Heavenly Restriction". It's an artificial one, manufactured by Kenjaku like you said, an experiment to see how much extra physical power a sorcerer with their innate technique removed would be able to access. Obviously it wouldn't be Toji levels, but a person like that could have a leg up on other sorcerers since they can focus on pure cursed energy techniques like reverse CT and black flash...AND could potentially *still* get a CT through the use of cursed objects. The potential of Itadori is actually higher because he didn't have an innate CT.

So I think he had a heavenly restriction EXACTLY like pre awakening maki. And after eating the fingers and consuming the other death paintings he just got a massive pool of CE on top of a heavenly restricted body. Giving him an optimized best of both worlds scenario where he’s a powerful physical fighter who can hit black flashes. Putting that on paper and even giving him a curse technique down the line makes him a force to be reckoned with. And makes a lot of sense as a main character who has to learn the very basics and then outclasses people who’ve been sorcerers to their whole lives with just a few months of experience. He’s like a min maxed character in dnd.

I think Sukuna is commenting on how boring Yuji is when it comes to Jujutsu. All he's doing is throwing punches. Sure they're punches that gut and shake the soul, but it's still just punches at the end of the day. Gojo had freaking spatial manipulation, Hakari summons a goddamn pachinko parlor, and Sukuna can chef it up. Meanwhile, Yuji is just a brawler. Sukuna has called Yuji boring all series long. Not to mention Sukuna has shared a body and touched tips, I mean souls, with Yuji for a while. He knows Yuji better than anybody else and what he could be capable of. Which us likely why Sukuna hates Yuji so much. Yuji is a perfect Cursed Womb and Human Hybrid and has so much damn potential but he doesn't even realize it. That's why Sukuna calls him a brat or someone who is afraid to leave it all behind. To unlock new heights in the world of JJK you need to be prepared to leave everything behind in order to evolve. We have seen this time and time again in the series. Such moments are: Yuta making a vow to die in order to release Rika's full potential, Gojo on the brink of death realizes the secret to RCT, and again with Higuruma who gets put on death's door by Sukuna and learns RCT on the spot. Look all the way back to the juvenile detention center arc and we can see Sukuna denouncing Megumi for running away from a chance to grow stronger
Yuji didnt rely from Sukuna technique but learn basic technique from the battle. Megumi was protagonist along with jujutsu tech and Yuji and Sukuna were the antagonist or rival.
Yuji is also boring from a personal motivation perspective. Gojo fights Sukuna because he is the strongest. He wants to see who is stronger, and wants to impart some knowledge onto him.
Kashimo wants answers to his questions about existence as the strongest.
Yuji doesn't think about anything like that, he just kills evil curses. It's an extremely plain and thoroughly uninteresting identity.

I wanted to ask you what do think about Jogo's thoughts about Sukuna. I don't really understand his position. Jogo wants to to create "curse spirit era", but mentions that if you revive sukuna, era of curses will still come. Before reading manga i actually thought that Sukuna is curse spirit too, so that made sense. But now when we definetely know that Sukuna is a human, i don't understand why Jogo thought he will somehow bring curses to dominate the world.
Is it because collective fear of mankind to Sukuna will produce more powerful curse spirits? I still think that's not enough to fulfill Jogo's dream

So yeah great question, I don't necessarily think Jogo thought Sukuna was a curse, but just someone who probably aligned with their goals of taking out the powerful sorcerers, and then if the sorcerers are gone, no one's going to be around to stop the curses from wiping out the rest of humanity. Basically all Jogo had to fear was Sukuna himself, which he clearly did. And in their little deal they made before they fought, Sukuna promised to obey orders from Jogo if he touched him. So in the hypothetical case where he'd somehow won, they could have just 'made' Sukuna help their cause.
So I think there's that element to it, plus Kenjaku was feeding them information to manipulate them, so who knows what he actually led them to believe about Sukuna, I'm sure that at least had some effect on Jogo's belief that Sukuna would help their cause.
But hey, for all we know, maybe Jogo did think Sukuna was a curse, this is just my 2c! Thank you again 🙏🏻

Why is everyone only using maki and toji as examples of heavenly restriction? Mechamaru also had a heavenly restriction but his was different, thus establishing there could be different kinds of heavenly restrictions.

There's just one problem with this theory. It doesn't explain how he can see cursed spirits after Sukuna left his body. A Heavenly Restriction is pretty severe. Maki needed glasses to see cursed spirits up until Mai died.
Also how can he have a Heavenly Restriction if he can use Blood Art techniques or have demon arms or perform Black flashes?

The point he is making is that Yuji may have been born heavenly restricted but gained cursed energy from the fingers later, kind of like how Mechamaru had a ruined body from his HR that was later fixed by Mahito. In terms of his new techniques, he likely gained them from consuming the Curse Womb Death Paintings.

Yep, you're right. This is another reason why it seems likely. Yuji is the only person besides Toji to fully suppress another soul that was in his body. Not just any soul too, Sukuna's soul.
I'd like to point out that Megumi also stated during the exchange event arc that if every student from both schools tried fighting Yuji at the same time with no cursed techniques, Yuji would beat all of them. This statement includes Maki as well. I think this statement goes towards the theory that Yuji is heavenly restricted as well considering Maki's heavenly restriction at the time.
It was even stated several times, like with his first fight with Toji, that Yujin is STRONGER than Maki initially but we also see that during his training with the corpse dolls that his output and amount of cursed energy is actually on the HIGH end. If Yuji has a heavenly restriction, which I think you could make a great argument for, I don't think it's one that limits his cursed energy. Rather, it seems more like it makes him incapable of creating his own innate technique or creating that initial spark of cursed energy. Which actually makes a great deal of thematic sense. Kenjaku MADE him to be a cage for Sukuna. Having a body that can absorb foreign sources of cursed energy and techniques and make them your own in exchange for never having any of your own to start with fits in line with that pretty well.

Yuji is really confusing but I think that it’s probably because kenjaku just being so naturally strong, or it can be that kenjaku made him to have strength like a heavenly restricted body, but not have his own innate technique cause he obviously has insane potential given how he is now, so it’s probably a weaker heavenly restriction that doesnt let the person have an innate cursed technique in exchange for a stronger body but not as strong as toji or maki’s awakened restriction

Yeah, idk about that part. You'd think that Maki would die as well when Mai did. It could be from being conjoined twins though, instead of regular twins.
If that's the case, Yuji might just put Sukuna's soul back inside of his body instead considering his ability to affect the soul and that body swap he did with Kusakabe.
In my mind I don’t think it’s heavenly restriction but more so tampering with the soul on Kenjaku’s part. In my mind at least, there’s something to how Toji could take over the grandsons body in shibuya that suggests that maybe as a sideffect of the restriction the body and soul are one in the same, which implies that usually there is some degree of separation between the body and soul.
Given that my theory is true on some level, I’d say I think Kenjaku experimented on Yuji’s soul that at least mimicks full or near full physical heavenly restriction, which allows him to consume cursed objects without issue and gives him a superhuman body even before CE control.
Edit: I think my full theory on this is that Sukuna is someone with 2 souls, initially born with extreme talent for jujutsu, much in line with Mechamaru, but as a twin his twin had some degree of heavenly restriction and through Sukuna being a genius, he managed to mostly fuse his brothers soul into his body, thus why he’s so hedonistic, he grew up without being able to experience the simple pleasures of life. Yuji was likely built in a similar way from the jump by Kenjaku as an attempt to recreate Sukuna, hence why he’s so disappointed in Yuji, they have similar starting points but since Yuji doesn’t have the same hedonistic and deranged mindset, he disappoints him because he knows exactly what someone like him is capable of.

How is Gojo stronger than people like Yuji, physically? As apparently in Shibuya, he was beating the heck outta Hanami and Jogo. Same goes for Sukuna, without curse energy he should be just a ordinary person level strong, but that doesn't seem to be true.
Gojo has alot of CE, Yuta and Sukuna are the only two people that have more them him so it's mostly CE reinforcement. He can also apply infinity to his physical attacks.

@@chetanJC2021 Gojo always has his CT going, it runs on auto pilot because of the 6 eyes. He only uses hand signs to amplify it when he needs to. He does have to be more precise with it though when fighting someone that is using domain amplification.

This is a really good theory and it would help the sorcerers defeat sukuna in a 1v1 which is a much better outcome and satisfactory than gojo coming back and all the rest jumping him as gojo has nothing left to accomplish in terms of his character arc as he had a really good one and bringing him back just to fight would ruin it and yuji deserves to beat sukuna 1v1 as sukuna took everything from him and the yorozu statement would make a lot more sense
For a while I was thinking this could be a possibility but after the most recent chapter im definitely thinking its really likely. I always thought yuji having a heavenly restriction could explain his profound ability to hit black flashes because of the heightened senses that come with it making the impossible timing needed for a black flash to be done easier for him
Your explanation on this theory got me thinking about Yuji sacrificing all of his cursed energy in exchange for insane physical prowess. What if, the more cursed energy you have as a bearer of Heavenly Restriction, the greater the boost you get in physical might after sacrificing it? Like in video games where you max out your characters and reset them to unlock a new capacity of stats to not only to put your points back into but go beyond the previously established maximum range.

i don't think yuji has the same heavenly restriction as maki because makis glasses imply that no matter what she has zero cursed energy and cant see curses. but i do think that yuji is heavenly restricted in some way most likely giving up an innate technique for a stronger soul and since the body and soul are in some way equal a strong soul means a strong body making him the perfect vessel and dominate any soul.

Isn’t Yuji just a hybrid of Human and cursed painting? That explains everything by itself man is just built different, also manga wise Yuji is def on the levels of Toji and Maki if not Sukuna would’ve killed him immediately
There's one part to this theory that I would like to add. In the volume of JJK that has Naoya on it, Gege drew the Zennin family tree in his notes. The Zennin family has two missing heads before Naobito, one of them was Toji's father. I feel like it's possible that Yuji is related to one of those missing heads.
Grandpa Itadori was alone at the end of his life, what if he's one of the missing heads? He could be Toji's father and this might explain why he died alone, because he was living in secrecy with Yuji's father. It's either that or Yuji's mom could be related to the Zennin as well.
So he’s basically a cursed object that has the body of a heavenly restriction. That would also explain why he potentially may be able to use multiple curse techniques. I think Kenjaku was trying to make a DIY sukuna.

Giving Yuji the same heavenly restriction as Maki and Toji feels anti-climatic. A heavenly restriction would be interesting but the same restriction would devalue Maki in my opinion.
Probably yuji's restrictions might be his cursed technique in place for physical buffs
😱Sakuna didn't "eat" his twin. Not like he bit, chewed, and swallowed. In the womb, he had no teeth, that makes biting and chewing impossible. He means he absorbed him, PARTIALLY! That explains his form. They were conjoined twins?!?!? One twin is absorbed into the other sometimes resulting in some rough combinations. That's why Sakuna says he "was born a cursed, unwanted, wretched child." His folks saw him come out looking like he "ate" the other twin and immediately didn't want him. I just figured out what's in Yuji's shrine: Cleave and dismantle. CTs are imprinted on the brain from birth. So, a CT that allows Sakuna the ability to eat and store other people's CTs is what he was born with. One of the twins had cleave and dismantle, and the other had shrine. Shrine to store and Cleave and Dismantle to "eat." Sakuna was born with both CTs because he's two people in one deformed body!!!
Maki/Toji - CE for a better body, with CT is affected
Mechamaru - body for better CE, CT unaffected
Yuji - CT for better body, but CE is unaffected.
In the womb, twins are considered the same entity. So technically, Maki/Mai DID have a CT. There are two potential reasons Maki could not use her technique:
A) her technique was etched in the brain, but her CE was so low that she could never manifest it.
B) her cursed technique was not etched in her brain, and only went to one of the twins.
Regardless, Mai's death took the remaining CE. Leaving Maki with a stronger body.
Which would suggest that Toji/??? might have been one entity with a twin. Although because a brother was never discussed, Toji may have killed the brother in the womb, causing a miscarriage. Which is why he is the only recorded case of 0 cursed energy being so powerful as its the first case of this happening recorded in the big 3 families. If he had a big 3 levels of CE and it was sacrificed, that explains his strength because it was a stronger sacrifice.
Yuji's creation sacrificed his potential of gaining a powerful CT, of Mother's Anti Grav, Father's ???, and/or one of Kenny's. Giving him a Heavenly restricted body with the potential to use a CE and any CT he acquires through consumption.
It's simple, just do the math: Choso is Itadori's brother, and he is half human-half curse; Kenjaku was involved in the backshots required for Itadori to exist.
Do the math and Itadori is half-human half-curse, that's why he's so strong.
I don’t think yuji has heavily restriction, simply because yuji could see curses, maki even before being awakened couldn’t see curses. I also think it adds more to his character if he DOESNT have a form of heavenly restriction and if he’s just physically gifted because of kenjakus genetic scheming
My theory is this...WHAT IF Yuji will never be fully realized until he kills Sukuna. This doesn't mean he has to be the one to do it but just the removal of "Sukuna" from the world gives Yuji the same awakening as Maki. Kenjaku said that as long as Yuji and Sukuna "CO-EXIST" will the cycle be never-ending. Yuji or Sukuna for that matter can never be fully realized because the other still exist and will always oppose them no matter what they do to get rid of them.

The idea Yuji is some kind of descendant of Sukuna's line, or a cursed womb from that era, that's related to him. (I mean the twin things cool but feels waaaay to far fetched)
Unless they where twins but Yuji died before being born and Kenjaku brought him back as a cursed womb some how, only to somehow revive him again. "reborn" in a sense.

He'll have lineage to Sukuna on his dad's side, Kenjaku was part his mother (plus who ever the actual body he inhabited belonged to which is still "unconfirmed") while being a cursed womb which makes him part curse.

Unawaken Maki Heavenly Restriction > Yuji after Shibuya Arc // Yuji strength is almost par with maki Heavenly Restriction
Awaken Maki > Yuji where they team up fight with Higuruma // Yuji strength in this part is superior unlike the Unawakened maki so in my opinion he can beat her at that time. maybe I'm wrong?
In my conclusion, where Yuji and Higurama fought Sukuna part can beat maki unawaken sukuna itself said it somewhere in manga he has abnormal strength we can see that yuji feats and I have no further explanation because its so long so, its stalemate.
The reason Yuji was able to see cursed spirits in the school was NOT because of near death experience. He himself was not near death, and nor was the other girl before getting attacked. However they were both able to see cursed spirits due to the unsealing of Sukunas finger. By unsealing the finger, cursed energy began to run rampant through out the surrounding area, attracting curses and allowing normal people to see cursed spirits. Megumi confirms this by saying "Wait, you can see them? (Referring to his Shikigami) normally a curse can't be seen, unless you're on the verge of death, OR in special places like this."

This makes me wonder if sukuna really will eat Maki in the next chapter, what happens to sukuna? If a heavenly restricted vessel completely contains sukuna, wouldnt consuming heavenly restricted flesh possibly negatively affect him?
What if Toji ate the fingers?! Edit: I think it most likely would do nothing, but Toji would make a great container for dangerous Cursed Objects if he was a good guy. Imagine a Bank Vault that can beat the shit out of anyone trying to pull off a heist. But it would be interesting if the fingers did work. Would that cancel out his Heavenly Restriction? Or would it stack? Fun to speculate on!
His mom a.k.a Kenjaku hade heavenly back shots, allowing Yuji to be physically stronger than most.
Chances are Kenjaku created a Demonic Awakening/Unlock. The opposite of a Heavenly Restriction and the true version of an Awakening. The only reason why Yuji isn't as strong as an Awakening should be in because he's had bad teachers who only helped him on the surface
Heavenly restriction makes sense for Yuji. Sukuna is shocked because Yuji can take back control of his body in the beginning of the manga and it's later shown with Toji that his body can't be possessed by someone else. The difference is that Yuji can somehow have both HR and CE, probably because of some Kenjaku funny business.
I like the idea, I always thought he was just naturally fitter because he was an invention/experiment of Kenjaku's, but the idea that he is heavenly restricted but gifted cursed energy by the cursed fingers would make Yuji a very good opponent for Sukuna eventually
What seems far more likely is that Kenjaku experimented on Yuji because that's what he does to his children.
It's likely that Yuji's physical state hsa something to do with what Kenjaku wanted to do with him.
Personally I think Kenjaku just noped out too abruptly, even though he had his fun he clearly had a larger vision that hasn't been showed yet. Team rocket will be back again.
So Jusjustu is Mind, Heavenly restrictions are applied to the bodies of the people affected, the soul can strengthen the body to match its own strength. And Yuji was at 10% of his soul while fighting Mahito and suppressing a 15 finger Sukuna even still.
Mai wouldn't get much stronger and would still be much weaker than Yorozu. Mai held Maki back more than Maki held back Mai. Mindsets are important in JJK. Mei never wanted to get stronger and never trained to do so.
I think you forget that Yuji already had genes with Kenjaku the most evil sorcerer to ever exist who has been alive for 1000 years so that comes into play with the physical prowess so technically he is part curse like Choso is also he can use black flash divergent fist and RCT without Sukuna's finger definitely not something a Heavenly Ristricted user like Maki could do
I like to think Yuji does have a heavenly restriction BUT he's bypassed the lack of curse energy thing by consuming and hosting Sukuna, which has let him grow his curse energy. The reason he hasn't shown an innate technique is probably because his energy supply is just too low for it, the plan was probably Yuji eating the finger in the first place.
Not just to be a perfect vessel but to overcome the innate downside of the restriction.
Using Sukuna's bloodline to do so is just icing on the cake.

We have an answer to yuji's strength already. Kenjaku was in his mother's body when yuji was born. The same way he created the death womb paintings, he modified yuji's bidy in some way to mKe him freakishly strong. Thats also the reason why he can control sukuna
can someone explain how can Yuji be Sukuna's twin ? They both were born in completely different time periods. Was he created in a similar way death paintings were done but he was a success? but then there should be a curse involved if Sukuna killed his cojoined twin yuji how was kenjaku able to replicate it?
I personally don't think Yujinis heavenly restricted because he has and can use cursed energy... furthermore his mother was technically Kenjaku as fucked as that is and he might be the result of a curse womb painting having a child
I've been wondering if Sukuna wasnt just a conjoined twin but had a vestigial twin (a parasitic twin) or a vanishing twin where one egg absorbs the other. And thats why he appears like that. It could be that Kenjaku found the twin DNA within Sukuna and used that to create an egg that he used to birth Yuji. So Yuji never properly existed in the Heian era and having been consumed by or a parasite of Sukuna is why he's so versed when it comes to souls and has been able to learn the soul disrupting hits.
I think that heavenly restrictions and binding vows are operated on high by some supreme being or something. Like im just supposed to believe that this is how the universe works with no explantions. The same thing goes for explaning your cursed technique which makes it stronger. That litterally makes no sense unless some one approves it to be stonger. Like what type of video gamw logic 😂😂😂

If Yuji and Sukuna are twins with heavenly restrictions then why is Sukuna not restricted at all and Yuji was only restricted on CE? I feel like if they were heavenly restricted twins then Yuji shouldn’t be as capable as he is even before having the cursed finger
