Physics on Khan Academy: Physics is the study of the basic principles that govern the physical world around us. We'll start by looking at motion itself. Then, we'll learn about forces, momentum, energy, and other concepts in lots of different physical situations. To get the most out of physics, you'll need a solid understanding of algebra and a basic understanding of trigonometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.

I'm really impressed with that face...
"And remember, all reality is just a big simulation going on in our brains." I love this guy.
Remember that for your test tomorrow
That's really tripping tf out... now I can't graduate.....
tripping me*
*Elon musk has entered the chat*
It means like the brain inverts the image formed on the retina.
Image formed on retina is inverted.
Do you also teach Art because holy crap that face looks amazing and u did that like what 5 secs hahaha.
Exactly what i was thinking lmao
And then he throws another bomb a second later!
"All of reality is just a big simulation going on in our brains..." he says, nonchalantly. 😶
Sal makes drawing that face in about 5 seconds look way to easy. Try drawing it yourself. I tried to copy his it took me 10 times as long and doesn't even look as good.
proof that MIT math graduates are really brilliant
I stopped paying attention when he was drawing that face there.
LIFE SAVER! I love how you have trouble drawing straight lines, but then you draw the person and it's perfect first try! So funny :p I wish I was an artist!
"..and remember, you know, all of reality is really just a big simulation going on in our brains". He's totally amazing.
"Our brain creates a model of this image or whatever."
- Sal Khan
Why was that face drawn SO skillfully....
i dont understand how drawing a face is so easy for him but drawing a line is the most difficult think ever :P good job tho
Was anyone else extremely impressed with Sal's face drawing?
1:56 sal why did you have to do that
"Now all reality is really a big simulation going on in our brains" ---The Khan Guy. Physics and Philosophy today, is it not?
He is an artist as well; respect! I agreed with you.
That reflection of the eye was really cool, never thought of how things reflected.
"And remember, all reality is just a big simulation going on in our brain" Getting philosophical up in this shit hahaha.
I feel like I have all the answers, just not in the correct order until I watch your videos. Thanks so much!
this is the best explanation online ... killing it as always Mr. Khan!!
If there were placed before that mirror an object unlike anything the brain has ever seen a real image of,will it still be able to simulate a correct virtual image?
Amazingly explained. Thanks a lot.
Thanks guys that's cleared it up a little
Great Explanation Sir Sal! Thankyou for this!
wow this really helped me for my physics exam, as did your other videos!
So helpful. Thank you so much.
great attempt .best than all other demonstrations.great job
Wow!!! Best explanation of a virtual image yet :D
what a great explanation!
Thanks ! Sir, I actually got this concept which was too hard for me to get....
a real artist!
thnxs a lot u helped me a lot for my science exam!!!
if only one light ray is coming from that arbitrary point as u said and after incidencing on the mirror if the reflected ray is produced backwards will it still form the image or not
sal you're crazy bruh man just drew a perfect face like it was nothing
you've almost penetrate the confusions in my mind
Hahahah "Of course the light is not curvy like that" Love it!!
thx bro it helped me alot
Wow, you draw really well.
Thank you this helped a lot
sal sir I REALLY LIKE WHAT YOU DO
can the book diagram be represented in the same was as the "eye" diagram?
3:53 i think you should clarify that it's not being emitted from "behind the observer".
otherwise, great vid. very helpful
he is totally amazing
Sal "all of reality is a simulation in our brains", he went deep on this one
Thanks, Sal.
thank you again!
Nice experience
Cool!
thank you very much best video
Is it possible to shine a light into a structure that has mirrors pointing to mirrors, etc, etc and for the light be trapped - continually reflecting between the mirrors?
'all of reality is a big simulation going on in our brains" whoa.
thanks that is really helpful for my physics gcse
ThatMathematicalEngineer how’s life
Awesome video
What program did you use to make this video?
Awesome
Holy crap that drawing of the face looks like a chefs kiss
God is reflect knowledge 🤔😊
"THAT IS A MIRROR." I was thinking in perspective of art student lol, no it's a line lmao
thank you
Thanks
The orange is a lie!
Very nice, very clear. Thank you.
@LAnonHubbard No, mirrors absorb small percentage of light every time they get hit and at light's speed...
well
I think images in mirrors are flipped front/back not left/right
Whoa, that was a beautiful face you drew. Man, you are perfect.
@zbe8 Thanks for the answer.
I know right
Sal, just a thought that came to my mind. Total number of videos in the library are nearing 2000. We are nearing year end 2010. Wouldnt it be awesome co-incidence to have 2010 th video on 31st December 2010 and 2011th video in year 2011.
that would've infact been awesome. the real question now is are you still here on youtube (this comment is just a year less than my age.)
Bahahaha I was just about to say that... But so true!! XD
plane mirror always form virtual image but when we reflect sun's rays on a wall we get a real image that can be obtained on screen such as wall . how this is possible? kindly clear my dout.
i
My Picasso cannot draw a straight line, but a perfect face in 5 sec!
🤯🤯🤯
real image can be touched
Sir, but the magenta ray is not falling into the eye.
@NollieSk8 No. You missed. D:
optical illusions
@NollieSk8 Damn u lucky.......
American excel!
Those who put dislike !! You have to be blind !!!
Jon Snow you know nothing
Great face
all reality is just a big simulation going on in our brains huh didn't know that I thought I was real lol
jk
theres something wrong with the last part. you broke the law of reflection: angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection in plane mirror. people might misunderstood that a plane mirror can bounce back to itself but no. you should have drawn a concave mirror to better understand.
ps. i love your drawing
wat. if the angle of incidence is 0 degree so the angle of reflection is 0 degree also
..
@sexysadman If you were to key 95/1550 into Google, it'll tell you the answer.
Why is the sound so horrible that I can't hear normal words?
its so difficult to understand
So reality isnt real. But that's a self defeating statement
what he meant is that the "true" reality isn't really what we perceive as reality
Salman Khan
aise padhayega to fail ho jayenge
tum chutiye ho
You are disoriented!
U can teach art instead
These are great but please stop repeating yourself when you say one sentence
He is human so he can make mistakes and may sometimes hesitate!!
Charlie Kennedy Agh I agree!!
@@BritneyFreak34812 can you reply after 3 years?
