Scale sequences are GREAT for developing consistency and co-ordination on the bass. In this video I show you some ideas to develop a 1 bar idea from a cello etude. I'll do more in this concept soon!
This was immense.. absolutely love your playing. Especially the way you end lines. Sounds amazing. But when you actually break it down it just simple argeggios or triads. Awesome work and teaching
thanks for the study. I've made some progress on your Prelude in D minor. Trying to get my performance up to tempo. There is so much to enjoy in there.
Is there a tab for this. I would love to practice this.. very interesting. Im fairly new to bass. But this would for sure help the focus of fretting ..
No tab for this one, but slow the video down if you need using the youtube controls and you’ll get it. It’s a one bar pattern so i think you will get it down
Thank you for the great lesson. It's another one that I'll have to rewind about 100 times :) Also, it seems a bit strange that you're not playing a set neck or neck through instrument, since you spend time high up the neck? I hate how the neck heel gets in the way, since I also play a jazz bass. I tried a neck-through 6 string a couple weeks ago and playing on the 24th fret felt better than playing the 20th on my jazz bass...
Yeah its a challenge on all my J basses w bolt on neck. I’ve owned Ken Smith and Fodera’s and just end up preferring the tone of jazz basses for almost everything ( for fretless I like my Wal 5)

you're the real deal Rufus! I'm loving the unedited straight up attitude, you are clearly a master study, keep it up, and thanks for the exercise!
RUFUS.......I haven't seen you since the 90's at Wapping. Lovely to see you again. You were and still are the man.
Thanks!!!
