But that's what being a band is, pulling each other in new and different directions. Personally, I find Gore to be a much stronger record than Ohms. Here's what Steph had to say... "I think my proudest thing about my guitar playing on this record is just playing on the record, because I didn't want to play on the record to begin with. It wasn't until way later once I actually got into it. I look at all the songs on the record and they were all a challenge for me to get into. When we were coming up with ideas and writing the songs, the stuff that was being written, you know, the other guys' ideas, I wasn't too interested in it. It wasn't the style or the sound I was hoping we would take. It wasn't what I was expecting or wanting. My band is going one direction and I am going another one currently. I would never leave the band that I started, but the band started leaving me. I can't control that. We have got issues that I do not want to leave home, but how things will be in the future, I do not know...there are some things that I will not do in the future because I just don't agree with it."

i LOVE this track. i met abe before the concert in berlin and asked if they were gonna play it that evening and abe didn’t know which one it was. 😂 but without a doubt this and doomed user would be in my favourite deftones of all time playlist. pittura infamante is so joyous! it’s like nothing else of theirs, the 6/8 time signature, the major key. i love it so much. 🔥

a lot of people say gore sucks but it’s truly a really great album. one song I don’t hear talked about enough is acid hologram, because most people just talk about prayers/triangles or phantom bride
Love the new guitar! Please put that sunburst on one of your signature 607b SCT's! I love my SCT, and it has never let me down in the 10-plus years I've had it, and that sunbburst would look awesome sitting next to my black one!

Cool stuff. Just did a cover of Root on my channel, partially inspired by these playthroughs. Love getting such a huge collection of these over the past few years.
Been a fan since Adrenaline, White Pony and self titled are my go-tos, and I absolutely love Gore. I think it's quite a powerful album. I had no problem with the mixing since I got what they were going for, especially seeing the older bands that the group loves and are inspired by. I like Gore way more than Ohms, which felt a little too predictable. lt felt like the band responding to fans' negative reactions to Gore and making the "typical Deftones album" that would satisfy those wanting the usual. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate Ohms, but it kinda treaded a lot of familiar territory musically and just didn't surprise me like Gore.
