I went to a show in Seattle last year, my first concert ever. I don't know if it was Stef or Lance but one of them played a solo during the end of the song and it was probably the most ethereal experience I'll ever have in my life.
Man Abe’s drum sound is so massive lol. You legit can’t cover a Deftones song as a drummer without beating the fuck out of your kit and I love it. Dude bangs and still has a drum sound that is 🤌🏼
I knew Deftones by Back to School, but Change was the song that got me addicted to this band. I literally listened to two days straights non-stop back in the day. Thank you for that.
@@shanebrady7647 nirvana was never good lol. Just very good pop rock. Nu-metal is far superior genre in terms of vocal technique, melody structure, rhythms. Breakdowns. And musical skill. This is the song that originally introduced me to The Deftones. 20+ years later and this song still takes me back to being a little kid, astounded by the audio and visual masterpiece that was being presented to me. My taste in hard rock and music as a whole is greatly attributed to these beautiful people. I love you guys🖤🤟
Whatever inspired Stephen to do these guitar playthroughs, I can’t describe how awesome it is to see my favorite guitar player so up close and personal like this
One of the most iconic songs from my high school days. Defined a timeframe of a generation. I blast this in the car and my teenager daughter asked when I listened to her music…..my response “I’ve listened to them since way before you were thought of. It was called the 90s.” And that’s how I was dubbed the cool Dad to her friends 😎
This track and this whole record got me trough some of the darkest times I’ve live ls through. It still hits hard 20+ years later. Thanks, Steph. You’ll never know what it’s meant to so many of us.

Deftones songs have always been around but never won me over 100%. I was at Rock in Rio in 2001 and it was great, but even so, I didn't feel enough to become a fan. These days I heard Change, My Own Summer and Passenger after about twenty years and... You know when songs seem to touch you in a way that they become exactly what you need? Since then, I listened to all albums, I listened to Chino's side projects and I was hooked. I can't stop listening to Deftones, Palms, Team Sleep and Crosses. Gosh, I'm really addicted. What a wonderful addiction!
I will never forget a friend trying to get me into Deftones and playing this for me in highschool. I vaguely recognized it from the radio, thought it was amazing and went out and bought Diamond Eyes and White Pony and those records totally changed my life.
This is the kind of guitar playing that comes from the heart not just technique...this is the kind of playing that u feel deep in your bones. Real fucking music.
