    Love all your videos. Pixhawk videos, and videos with Ben from 3DXR are specially helpful. This one came one weekend to late, it took me whole day to figure out Pitot and Pixhawk workings for Twin "Believer". Always wait for more. Thank you for all your work.

      Thank you for the feedback. I've been thinking about a video with Ben showing a full flight from the planning in Mission Planner, preflight checks at the field, flying, downloading images afterwards and tagging them and creating a 3D terrain map using them.. would that be of interest?

    Lee, further to the comment about expensive crashes, how about profiling the cheapest reliable way to do FPV on a fixed wing plane? I am thinking if you just had a simple wing leveler autopilot (Hobbyeagle?) and simple gps with onscreen display which shows which way is home so you cant get lost (cheap VTX and GPS with onscreen display) along with a way to monitor battery voltage (telemetry?) you would have all needed without getting into the complexities of return to home, airspeed, etc. Can it be done for $50 or so?

    Do you have the parameter settings for a Buffalo FX79 by any chance? We have been building these in my drone class for fixed wing along with the full-size Talon. I've seen far too many planes crash, fly off, or land in trees and are unretrievable. The worst was a full power dive from high altitude with a complete loss of control due to some bug in the setup or hardware. We have anywhere from $1500 to over $2000 in our planes and to lose one is quite a loss. I've seen one student lose three Buffalos and still not complete a mission. Other students have had to leave the class because they could not afford to build another plane from the beginning with no recoverable parts to offset the cost. If you would rather communicate through email please let me know.

      Sorry, I don't but there will be a new Ardupilot series starting next month. Following the Wiki will get you into the air. Missing out steps will get you a crash. I've seen so many pilots struggle and then I've asked them if they followed the steps in the Wiki it turns out they've 'just tried to figure it out'. See my Common iNav mistakes video for the most common ones on that platform - maybe I'll make one of those video for Arduplane too...

    If an air speed sensor is based on a pressure sensor, would you have an increased pressure under an aeroplane as it came I to proximity with the airstrip? I was thinking that maybe a similar setup could be used to determine the height of an ekranoplan based on the pressure difference between above the aircraft and below the aircraft. What are your thoughts ?

    • @Painless360
      @Painless360  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right. That is why the position of the tip of the sensor far from the affected airflow created by the model is so critical.. In front of the airflow by a few inches is ideal in most cases... Happy flying!

    • @DaylightDallas
      @DaylightDallas 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Painless360 So do you think that a modification of how you use the sencors could be used to determine your proximity to the ground at two feet up or below, based on an increased pressure from ground effect?
