Yeah, unfortunately I think the vampire probably survived. Maybe the show expected us to assume the thing died in the sunlight before reaching land, but it doesn't need to breath oxygen so it could've just dove in the water and waited on the seafloor (where there is no sunlight) until night, then finished the sluggish flight to the mainland.
I feel the exact opposite. I think its distracting and handicaps his new work when im always picturing these actors in their other roles. Just my opinion 🤷🏻♂️
There was one subtle one in the first episode where the Flynns are at dinner discussing Pruitt and Annie mentions him acting "scattered", which is exactly how Olivia was described in Hill House when the house started influencing her
There's a small but cool one you missed! In Episode 4 around the 25 min mark, Mildred can be seen reading A Picture of Dorian Gray, which long story short is all about a young man who finds a way to stop his aging on the surface to pursue a life of pleasure and sin. This really emphasizes a major theme in the series as in both they are able to heal or become young again in order to pursue dreams of pleasure and sin. But as we learn in both the novel and the series that their actions would only end up revealing the true, ugly nature of themselves and what they have done.
I love this book with my entire being. But it has to be mentioned that Dorian gets a deal with the devil in order to get immortal. The immortality is destroyed by him trying to erase his mistakes by slicing the painting, the only thing that shows his rotten soul.
Something that non-Muslim viewers may not have picked up on (spoiler alert!): Sheriff Hassan passed away while in prayer. He specifically passed away on his hands and knees, with his forehead touching the ground - this position in the prayer is known as the "Sujud". It is believed that a Muslim is closest to Allah in this phase of the prayer. It is also believed that passing away during prayer leads the person to Paradise. Therefore, Sheriff Hassan passed away while he was closest to Allah and his soul may be allowed in Paradise. What stuck out to me, but I may be nit-picking: Sheriff Hassan and Ali are shown to be praying facing the direction of the sunrise, likely East depending on the weather. Muslims pray facing West, where the sun sets, as that is the direction of the Ka'aba in Mecca. (The Ka'aba is the representation of a specific point in Paradise.) Edit: Thank you for all the positivity! Regarding the responses about directions, I just contribute the rule of thumb I was taught as a child - If I am in a place wherein it is not immediately evident which direction I must face for prayer, I must try to choose the direction in which the sun sets (west, in most cases*). If even that is not evident (i.e., it is night), then I may choose any direction for prayer. That was where my east-or-west points stemmed from. *I say "in most cases" because I was recently in a country during their summer season and the sun rose in the direction I was supposed to pray in, which surprised me. It was an interesting experience.
I really hope I’m not offending anyone but… Would it matter facing east or west as both will eventually lead back to the Ka’aba? With the Earth being spherical and all?
In Riley’s drunk driving accident with Tara-Beth, we see that the crashed car she was driving is a yellow VW Beetle. In Stanley Kubrick’s the Shining, Jack Torrence drives a yellow Beetle up to the Overlook. Kubrick also shows a red Beetle being crushed in an accident while Hallorann is driving up to the Overlook (in King’s book Jack drives a red Beetle).Kubrick’s way of giving King the middle finger it was speculated.

Actually it's the exact actors under prosthetics to age their characters - who are playing their roles in the whole entirety of the show - this is such the case of Monsignor Pruitt/Father Paul (Hamish LInklater) and Sarah Gunning's mother (Alex Rusoe), Riley's parents (Henry Thomas and Kristin Lehman). No other actors are casted as their older versions.
The make up in this was fantastic. I didn't even know that was Henry Thomas until he started to look younger. Then I was like "oh wow! that's Henry Thomas!... but of course he's in this, it's a Mike Flanagan project."😁

Agreed! The old lady make up was really bad. I think in the case of this character, an old, similar looking actress should have been used. It would have portrayed the frailty of mind and body so much better, and consequently been so much more realistic. Apart from this, I also absolutely loved the show.

Midnight Mass is an extraordinary creation. Makes us think that anything too much can blind us even faith. I think it's really cool that Ali reads manga, I chuckled aloud when I saw Death Note on the shelves of his room
Nice catch!
I saw parallels between Bev Keene and Margaret White from Carrie. Aside from the obvious religious lunacy, Bev’s outfit through the last few episodes is very similar to Margaret White’s nightgown in the final scenes of Carrie.
Cool
Who is here after Midnight club Mike Flanagan know his job really well
Would you wanna see a Midnight Club Easter egg breakdown?
Oooh yes
This is a great show so well made
🙌🏽
Kristin Lehman, who played Annie Flynn, was also in an episode of the X-Files.
Nice!
I did notice that my dad is a priest named Father Pruitt. So obviously, I saw the good in Father Pruitt.
Wait priests can’t have kids
Lovely video.
I think you got Annabeth’s name wrong? The last name is Gish not Fish.
Thanks! And yeah haha I was talking too quick 🤦🏽♀️
Yooo that mirror kept creeping me out when they panned in....now I know why 😬
Right!! I love seeing the Oculus mirror hidden in Flanagans projects.
I think I’m in love with your channel 😍
You are very kind!
You missed the obvious nod to Sprski Film with the checkered floor and even the placement of the characters on it.
What was that?
@@kaymaldo Have you seen Sprski Film? ("A Serbian Film") You need to see that first and then it's quite obvious, down to the colors/color cast.
This show was fantastic
Glad you enjoyed it
7 pages, 7 episodes
This was not an easter egg per say but I thought it was very interesting that Father Pruitt had old baseball stuff (catchers gear and a framed photo of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig above his desk)! Its never addressed but as a baseball fan just thought that was neat
Nice call out!
Interestingly, the series finale--though taking place on Easter--features no actual Easter eggs.
hahah the biggest easter egg of all!
Is that a doom chair, Rahul is sitting in?
Yes!
@@kaymaldo fucking legend!
Really liked his character in black mass
the mirror was on hill house too
Yes!
I thought the mirror might have actually Been the “angel” hiding. Was hoping it would bust out
That angel was creepy!
Did you know that the church organist is actually one of the Newton Brothers who wrote the movie score?
Oh wow very cool!
God he reminded me of Joel so much , that’s crazy that they did that on purpose
Right, so cool
Is there a nod to the wizard of oz at the beginning where Bev Keane is like miss gulch accusing the dog of bitting her ???
I want Rahul's DOOM gaming chair
How was anyone supposed to see the Oculus mirror. It's literally hidden and in the dark.
Yeah it's pretty dark haha!
Wish Midnight Club was as good as his previous entries.
The Midnight Club or Midnight Mass?
The angel looks like the serial killer in Gerald's Game.
Right!
I LOVE THAT RAHUL SAID HE TOOK INSPO FROM JOEL WE LOVE YOU FOREVER JOEL
JOEL WENT OUT LIKE RILEY. TOO SOON. FUCK
🔥🔥
