I really hope Samantha gets the recognition she deserves for how well she portrayed Bev. I don't think that's gaslighting, that's simply an argument and everyone should be able to convey their opinions in public forum. The thing is, I think she believes she's doing the righteous thing all the time, it all stems from what I call religious panic. Extreme fear of going to hell, or be a bad person, it makes people unable to introspect and be honest about their mistakes. She's a pitiful delusional person.

Hamish Linklater deserves an award for his performance. He literally made the show. He is EXACTLY like how priests act in life. The way he always quotes the bible and honestly I loved how he became a protagonist at the end of the show. He throws his Priest collar away and says "Forgive me?" That was epic. What an actor! Edit: I would know as I talked to many priests when I was younger, trying to find my faith. This was before I became a "Mainline" Christian with various different beliefs, anyway, they all were like that. Hamish was really good. Even though he unleashed this thing on the town and you kind of hate his blind dogma, he was able to convey the overriding belief what he was doing was good. That he’d convinced himself it was a godly act. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. The show was great because in many ways, the demon was secondary. The character’s interpretations of the events, that was more the story than the events themselves.
