It was tough, but it helped me decrease the commission rate quickly and I got a number of reviews so when I increased my price new students came in numbers. Had to let go of some of the low payers, but such is life. I've been working on Preply for over 2 years now, highest I've charged is $20, but I generally charge $15 or $12 in the slower months. I was able to pay off my credit card debt, buy a second hand car cash, do stuff at my parents house and start saving again. You are so right, sometimes it boils down to luck, you never know until you try, even if the trends or stats say otherwise. You gave me courage and got me started. Thank you.
