What a strange world we live in, I was watching some of your content just yesterday and see you left this comment just a few hours later. Nice to see you here Martin. I definitely aim to make some more content as we head into the winter months. I've been away and had some health issues over the past half a year or so, so sadly that has prevented me from being as consistent recently as I would have liked to have been.
yeah about the price you are saying excatly what im suffring from it now i made my price the lowest accoding to some advice from old teachers it worked im not gonna lie im just started one month ago in preply and i already have 4 student now but like you said gotta talk to the student and it not really comfy im stuck with this and wanna raise the price but the problem here with me the actual students that i have
Hey! I wish i stumbled upon this video before i got started. Number 2 literally happened to me yesterday and i missed a lesson, student ended up leaving a bad review on my profile!
I'm pleased you found it useful. As for the starting price, even though I'm based in the UK too, this really isn't something for me to say. It's completely up to you and you're your own boss after all. Charge whatever you feel is reasonable when you're starting out, what you'd be happy with earning and comfortable earning too.
Great tips. Thank you so much! Just 1 question: When a student books a trial lesson (or any lesson) with us, do we get a chance to chat with them beforehand to know what they expect of us, the topics they would want to be taught, just so we can prepare a better lesson in advance and be more confident?
Thanks for the kind words! Yes you do get to chat to them firstly about the lesson and their learning intentions, just make sure not to exchange any personal details or suggest speaking outside of the platform as this is against Preply's policy prior to having the first trial class.
Thank you for the info. this is really helpful and honest advice, am just one week into preply, no students yet, contemplating reducing my rate(currently at 10 usd), considering that am African any advice for me.
Hi did you end up getting students with $10 or did you reduce your price? I’m asking because I’m also currently at that stage and I’m considering reducing my price too. Also I’m African
I missed a second lesson with a student. Not a trial though but I think my profile is hidden. How long will it be hidden please. How can I avoid being hidden?
You talked about settings, the only 'Setting' I have is the one next to the 'Community' button but there is nothing about booking 2hr before the lesson start, where are these settings?
Click onto 'Calendar', then on the left hand side press 'set up availability' and you'll be able to find the settings there that I talked about in the video. Hope this helps.
I'm new on preply. Do you think I should believe any offer if someone told me they will provide me student. But they're gonna have some of there comission.
Student sent me a private message, before I even realized my account was deactivated 😭😭 I don't even know where, how he got my numbers. How do I go about that? I tried appealing but couldn't get hep😢
Hi. I am new to Preply and I have not gotten any students. However, two "students" messaged me to contact them on WhatsApp and I did. When I asked why they did not book a trial lesson. The person stated that they have an opportunity for me where I can sign a contract with Ziegler Logistics and students will contact me through preply for lessons and I get paid my cut. I don't understand this but I have blocked the numbers and I am thinking it might be a scam. It just doesn't make sense.
Sounds like a scam. I just got a sponsored ad saying "tutors wanted on preply" and I clicked on it. It took me to a completely different company/website... Something just feels off, so I'm not even going to apply there
Thank you so much for sharing this! I'm about to do my application and I still have nerves and doubts. This helped me a lot!
You're very welcome
Very nice and useful advices! Thank you! 😊
This video is a 5 star review
Thanks for sharing. This would be really helpful if someone like me who is not farmiliar with the platform wants to get into teaching on preply
Hola, muchas gracias por tus recomendaciones que son muy útiles para todos los que trabajamos en plataformas de enseñanza, muchas gracias😇🥰😊
Great video. When are you going to make more video content? You are sorely missed.

Im in the UK right now. What starting price do you think is reasonable?

How long does it take to get approved I been waiting 2 weeks
Thank you so much for this video, you did a great job. Please how low or what price do you suggest one can start with at Preply for a starter?
Can you please provide the to the payment platform, I have never heard of it 🙏
It's called Wise
Great video!!!

Patience is key. A lot of people go weeks without finding any students. But once you start getting some and the reviews add up, it should get easier.

Sorry about that, your contact is not obligatory,so you must not put it
I am just starting out and just got a msge from the student to contact them on WhatsApp.. Is that allowed?
@@debbiegrimett8053no
Not so easy to get students bro. Preply is cool anyway
Yeah sometimes it can be tough. I do like Preply, especially since it's been my income for the past 5 years!
@@teachercook-e2572 wow! Great man. I get inspired from your vlogs!
@@teachercook-e2572 can you borrow me some of your students when I get approved 😭😭
