Where to Catch Puget Sound Blackmouth Salmon Fishing in MA 10

- I show you some of the other blackmouth salmon I caught this season and where I got them in Marine Area 10. The blackmouth salmon are chinook salmon that hang around in Puget Sound and don't migrate out to sea. There is a limited season that varies but this year in Marine Area 10 it was January through the end of March.

Thanks, Wayne. It is tough to net with the boat in gear but I am getting used to it. I had to learn to do it myself since I was losing fish because people couldn't net them. You're right about the meat; not much waste on these salmon since their bellies are empty.

Thanks. I have been using downriggers and they work a lot better than the divers. I haven't ever tried fishing for steelhead.

Thanks. I had a boat booked but then an emergency came up that I had to take care of. I was going to go today instead but there's a small craft advisory. I won't be able to go again until friday or saturday (22 or 23) in a couple weeks. Want to go?

You do. Just keep in mind the season gets shut down early most years so get out there as soon as they let you.

Thanks. It's freedomboatclub so I pay $400 a month and take out boats when I want. Just pay for the gas I use. I don't have to clean, maintain, repair or gas the boats up. Works well for me and they have locations all over the world.

Thanks. An app would be a lot better but probably the reason why is they don't have funds for that. Although they could probably afford it if they put the money from all the people they hire to do the surveys towards it.

man those silver torpedoes really pull hard eh? what you write down? size and for what?
They do pull hard but the boat is still in gear so you are fighting a bit of current so to speak. We have to write the date, area it was caught, species and if it is wild (adipose fin intact) or hatchery (no adipose fin).
Nice blackmouth chinook salmon, they will provide you with some good tasting fillets. Why does Washington make you write down the salmon you catch? Does it help the Fisheries Biologist in their research?
They sure did. They have daily limits and it's probably a way of keeping people honest. The tribes and everyone else split the annual harvest. Maybe it's a way of keeping track.
Peeling Line It seems to work well since there is a healthy population of salmon where you fish. Looking forward to seeing more salmon fishing videos and underwater videos from you.

Thanks. The paperwork is to record the salmon you catch. There are quota limits and they want to know how many salmon get caught every year. They give you a ticket if you have a fish and don't fill it out. If you don't return it they charge you $10.
