While the statement about Arcane's lore not being canon is incorrect your lore breakdown of the differences between the lore of the game and the show is solid. Good job with your research.
Yeah I thought it was known that the events and characters in Arcane are not cannon and overwrite what’s established for said areas and characters. I mean, how could they not?
he's not lying, he just obviously didn't know Riot went back on that statement. because yes, originally the cinematic universe was supposed to be it's own timeline
@@kiinan231that's kind of the fun of it all though isn't it. Give me 1000 music videos and cinematics. I love lore that I can sit here and think about and theorize over. Yes I'm aware there was lore before the show. But I really don't feel like there was enough to really suck me into the characters. Arcane is 100% canon. Riot has explained that because it exists within a multiverse all events are considered canon the games version of the characters should be treated as alternate versions within the same continuity.
Eventhough the video is only 2 weeks old, it seems he hasn't watched season 2. I'd assume he hasn't kept up with any of Riots's official comments. I mainly watched this to see the differences between them.
They’re doing a good bit of retconning tbh. Vi’s lore was even changed to still be that she saved some construction workers with some oversized gauntlets, but at the same time disappeared for some time and reappeared with a pair of hextech gauntlets and Caitlin. So it could be understood that what took place in arcane is true, and that’s why she can use the gauntlets so easily in arcane also. It’s a stretch, but Rito will be making arcane cannon. They’d be dumb not to retcon the lore again since it’s been done a few times already. Hell 15 years ago we were playing as summoners who summoned champs to fight the countries differences.
I would advise you look into voice interactions between champions too. Because for example, one of Ekko's voice lines to Jinx is something like "I had a crush... until you started talking to the guns." So Jinx is mentioned in Ekko's lore technically. Though not in the story, the voice still implies something. Awesome video tho, subbed. League lore is so vast, excited for more vids.
Arcane was originally its own thing based on the LoL champions and Runeterra world, but Riot developers have confirmed its canon (at least, it is becoming canon). They've been reworking things since 2023 steadily. Anyone can Google it. "Riot also delved briefly into lore and canon, which has become more complex with shows like Arcane and the library of Riot Forge spin-off games. However, there’s one interesting detail: Arcane, which previously was in its own continuity, is now the official story." That came from an October 2023 article on Polygon. th-cam.com/video/pFx2Xb5QIB4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1ybey3Ke8Un_56Yl That's a YT video of some developers talking about lore from the official LoL YT channel. I swore it was confirmed they were sisters in the game?🤔 actually yeah she was literally introduced in the game as VI’s sister. But if you weren’t there and are going strictly off what’s written in the lore dumps it makes sense that you would believe it was never confirmed

Initially, I was planning to make a similar video about the second season. But after watching it, I realized something-the first season at least sort of followed the game’s lore. In the second season, though, things went completely off the rails. It’s hard to even compare them now since it’s basically an entirely different alternate story that dives into the multiverse. So, I decided to make a video breaking down what was awesome and what fell flat in the second season. Oh, and stay tuned-I’ve got some super exciting Arcane videos coming soon, including a detailed analysis of the opening and all the Easter eggs from season two!
@TavernKeeperLoL man that's a bummer. I totally understand but I thought it'd be cool to see another vid like this just for at least the characters because season 2 adds a few other league characters
Riot has a history of reconfiguring Lore roughly every 5 years, from when they frist released the beta version of League. Arcane in all technicallity is just another revamp, however, they have not actually put it all into the game as lore yet. So for everyone trying to debate if this is true lore or not, it is working on becoming the new true lore. This video, however is not actually inccorect, because for anyone that has bothered to read the character lore, this hits it spot on for everything prior to Arcane ever existing. So, before you go calling this video out as false, do some reading and research into what is happening. To those of you who have done the research, giving a compliment after saying that the video is wrong, is what is known as a backhanded compliment. It means little, in other words.
This video gets one major thing wrong. About a year ago Riot announced that they knew the canon was full of contradictions, so going forward there was going to be a single official canon, and Arcane was that Canon: th-cam.com/video/pFx2Xb5QIB4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G5xOO8quW2HsO0OU
If you mean the burns on Singed's face, then yes -- that's from the bomb. But I was talking about the bandages. He has bandages under his high collar that cover his mouth area (as in the game lore). They cover the scratches left by Warwick. You can clearly see those bandages on Singed in the second season of the show)
@@TavernKeeperLoL Also, Arcane Singed is now confirmed to be Orianna`s father Dr. Corin Reveck whilst in the core universe they were separate scientists with very different appearances and specialties(machinist and chemist/alchemist respectively). However, Singed being a more tragic villain is actually more in line with his old lore than most people think, his more monstrous and genocidal aspects have been ramped up over the years.

Why's this guy lying tho. Riot is using arcane and further cinematic releases as true cannon
Overwriting previous lore. Because cinema is easier to explore than dialog in a game.

Its never said in Arcane that Ekko is actually an orphan. He just had a mentor in Benzo.

I'm no, Arcane is the new cannon lore of League. So this video is more like new lore vs old lore.
