I don't know how it got so bad, is just like the characters were developed out of screen and we have to acept that they changed without even a explanation of what made them chance
The mispronunciations are too much, couldn't finish the video.
Thanks for this, I thought I was going mad watching S2. It was not just too fast, it was bad. And the worst is that the fan won't admit that it is bad. You did not understand it, or you want to be spoon-fed bla bla bla.
Yeah. As I finished my first wacthing of season 1 I was shocked at how good it was and each watching gave me more and my appreciation deepened. Season 2 finished and I was pretty sad and disappointed and after each further watching, more and more becomes apparent that is wrong with it. I'm guessing the writers they let go of between seasons was where the talent was.
I feel like in order to be inclusive they removed every inclusivity they were popular with in season 1. A lot stuffs were forced to season 2 while season 1 remained small and yet a lot retrospective than we what we got
A lot stuffs were different from what should've happened after season 1. Jinx should be more insane, the fight btw Piltor and Zaun should be main thing, the characters we got should have more screen time (my opinion ofc)
I agree 👍
Thank you for this video. It’s nice to hear some honesty while most others are glazing this poorly written season.
season 2 was not only rushed, it represented a massive drop in quality from season 1. most of what made the first season so legendary is absent from the second, plot points are speedran and just handwaved, character motivations flip flop on a dime and only justified on a surface level, and character actions often just don't make sense
I love Arcane but one big problem... They did Maddie dirty, and everyone laughed at her death. The betrayal plot doesn't work for me, and all I did was defend the VA and her character, but I'm too weak for commenting.
Great channel and amazing narration! Keep it up :)
Thanks so much for the kind words)
If you had to live in Noxus, Demacia, or Ionia, which one would you choose and why? Let’s hear your thoughts)
Ionia!
Personally think this season develops characters and relationships even better than season 1 in some cases, and that can be seen when you look at the finer details and use implicit reasoning. The show doesn't spoon feed you ever, not in the first season and DEFINITELY not in the second. The plot points in season 1, while I do agree with it being a more down to earth storyline, were still just as complex and implicit as season 2 has been. You still had to use your head.. I can understand some disappointment from those who didn't get the plotlines they wanted to see, but that doesn't mean the season was mediocre. Also just as a specific example, if all you got from episode 7 was that they made the z-drive and everything else that happens is pointless, then you are straight up not watching the show correctly LOL
Wow, honestly I liked S2 a lot more I think is even better than S1 and it raises the stakes with more epic moments
league of legends massive lore arcane may be final season its not final story at all. this leading to next show which they making now they started working it last year, next going to be focus on noxus and the black rose and mel gonna be recuring char as main char. the pitlover and zaun story no near is being finsih they will come to it tell the rest. there is many chars and storys left to tell in that city. im not surpise u feel like this alot of people never know about the lore lol. they wanted tell story of the world itself so doesnt feel like small world
i felt they needed a few more episodes to flesh out a lot of the ideas they had also. i felt they were trying to balance to many plates at once
Imo it was rushed and the pay off was very bad Like why is victor a god randomly Cait become a dictator for 5 mins and then she was all good
Arcane season 2 in my opinion hit its peak in act 1 and then kept rushing through its character arcs and plot points due to a lack of time....
Finally someone except me mentioned this cringe sex between vi and katelin after jinx literally gave vi understand she is going to commit suicide Couldn’t watch
It feels really out of character for both Vi and Caitlyn. It's bad fanservice.
Season 1 was a great story because it was two forces, the undercity and Pilt'over, struggling for power in their own backyard. And on top of that there was a fascinating development of Jinx's characterization as she is caught between two worlds. It was lightning in a bottle. However.... There were plenty of hints that there was a bigger world out there. Vander telling Benzo that there are worse things than enforcers. Finn telling Sevika that there are bigger fish than Silco. Ambessa looking so strong, yet being afraid of someone with even more power. This looming threat of a much larger, diverse and powerful world outside of the immediate conflict makes the season 1 story arc even more compelling. But if that was the setup, then we have to move on to that larger and more powerful world with different nations, characters and powers. Now, if you want to critique the way season 2 took that step out into the bigger world, I get it. It became a very different story. But still found it compelling and very, very entertaining. At first I did think a lot of the things you said, but on my first rewatch it became clear that my problems with it were all coming from the expectations that season one's quality had set. When I let the entire story just be itself, it became much more clear that the whole story is much, much more than one character or conflict; it's about a first look into a complex world and lore and I am ready to see more of it.
i really felt they did us dirty with mel. all of season one, we could she was manipulative and engaged in trade related corruption as a politician. but she seemed to use her corruption to invest in the city, so we weren't sure if we should trust her or not until we met ambessa. that's when we could see her as an altruistic fox of sorts. so i was really excited to see her go up against ambessa politically, where ambessa would try her warmongering to make jayce and victor weaponize hextech, all while having mel attempt to de-escalate the need for it by balancing peace with zaun and justice around jinx.... when she was kidnapped and we got none of that i felt robbed.
Imagine a classic GOT/Tywin plot with her vs the Black Rose plot we got instead. God, the storytelling would've been amazing.
Arcane with season 1&2 is a banger start with a bull crap ending. But season 1 from episode 1 to 9 is like those enclosed micro-ecosystems in bottle you see in plant stores, where the water is recycled so it never needs anything from outside to function as all the components in it generate energy once combined. Only now I can see the truly amazing thing about season 1, it’s that it has such packed, clever writing it can stand on its own, only that instead of a convoluted commentary on capitalism, it’s just a tragedy, the lucky vs the unlucky, simple and powerful. It neatly wraps itself up with a bow at the end which is bittersweet, we would’ve assumed that everyone in the counsel (except Mel maybe) died, so Cait lost her mom but she gained a friend who changed her world in return, Vi lost her sister but has Cait, Jinx lost her father but had revenge against the powerful incompetents, and Zaun is free from Silco and shimmer even if it will take a while to pick itself up. Who will take over Zaun? Ekko and the the Firelights, Zaun is not actually a grim wasteland if you pay attention, Ekko and his team represent both its bright side and its bright future, (you know the tree that grew from total darkness?) it’s fun to imagine they’d turn the slums into a kind of solarpunk city, in nice contrast with the more expensive steampunk of the richer Piltover. Jinx’s weapon, being powered by none other than the arcane, is also perfect as it makes the whole story a cautionary tale about the dangers of unrestrained, ruthless ambition, with disregard for patience. Heimerdinger’s worst nightmare comes true and only he lives to warn the next generation.
I did like the 2 season initially but the longer I thought about it, the clearer it was how far away it is from season 1. After 3 weekes from act 3 premiered I am mostly left with a feeling of huge disappointment and failed expectations.😢
Yep. As a continuation of what was established in S1, S2 was a horrible disappointment. I imagine this will be a case study for filmmakers for many years.
Completely agree. I don't think having more episodes would've helped, it's not that they've ran out of time, they could've easily scoped less to achieve more. Instead, due to some baffling decision the writers abandoned the narrative structure that made S1 great - complex characters making difficult decisions driven by clear motives and having to face the inevitable consequences of said decisions, and instead opted for shallow spectacles by cramming as many emotional moments as possible into each episode in hope that viewers will connect to the characters hopping from plot point to plot point without it being earned, and over relying on shocking revelations, as if they knew this way of story telling isn't good enough.
I can agree with the tonal shift, but I really like the story. Vi and Jinx is really good, time passes much faster in this season. And maybe more time for some arcs would have been better, but to me everything gets touched by the arcane and becomes less relevant.
Absolute truth. Arcane`s S2 was utterly disappointing.
agree with everything you said. i also think that they changed jinx a lot from s1, her hallucinations are gone, she's just able to converse with vi after all they've been through. i expected her to be in a much worse mental state after silco's death but we never see that. also this is seriously underrated!
I think it’s because she accepted that she’s a jinx. Saison 1 was about her being stuck between Powder and Jinx, Saison 2 is about accepting that this is her reality, she ruins everything. Hence why her hallucinations aren’t much of a problem.
I dont think she changed at all, she has always been this erratic character that just flips switches from one second to another. Her hallucinations arent gone either, she is just more stable this season for various reasons.
@@nanopix5305 yeah, and i personally feel like the reason for the stability was because the writers weren't really interested in that part of her anymore and just wanted to make her a "good" person at the end (which is bad writing imo, given the level of character depth in this series in the first season). also her flip at the end also felt like it came out of nowhere. she was about to kill herself and then ekko changed her mind with a single speech (that we don't get to see, i wonder why), even though she didn't really show signs of being in a state at which she's able to change her mind given logical reasons for things, she wasn't receptive to what vi said? and it was in the same episode too.

You're right, honestly. The season seems like a patchwork quilt of inorganic or otherwise super useless fan service, outright nonsense and too many ideas/threads for the time they had. It's unfortunate but I feel no desire to rewatch season two in its entirety. I can enjoy it in gifs. I personally feel Isha was a wasted plot device - there were other, more economical ways to get Jinx to confront her past self (should've been via Ekko and Vi) rather than wasting time on creating a plot device 'character' whose only purpose is to die.
I feel a big desire to rewatch Season 1 after this actually 😂
So does Rell's timeline crosspath w Vi and Jinx?
Yep, all the events with Rell, Vi, Jinx roughly happen at the same time. Here's what I found during my research 988 AN (Years after the foundation of Noxus) Rell is first forced into combat with another student. 996 AN Rell escapes the Black Rose academy in search of her friends and foes. 993 AN - 994 AN Jinx starts to vandalize Piltover. By the way, in addition to Vi and Caitlin trying to catch Jinx, they are also busy with other things. For example: 996 AN Vi and Caitlyn manage to stop Urgot's turmoil and catch him, putting him in an isolated island prison despite Vi's original wish to kill him.
Hey friends, what did you think of Arcane Season 2? What rating would you give it?)
Riot has a history of reconfiguring Lore roughly every 5 years, from when they frist released the beta version of League. Arcane in all technicallity is just another revamp, however, they have not actually put it all into the game as lore yet. So for everyone trying to debate if this is true lore or not, it is working on becoming the new true lore. This video, however is not actually inccorect, because for anyone that has bothered to read the character lore, this hits it spot on for everything prior to Arcane ever existing. So, before you go calling this video out as false, do some reading and research into what is happening. To those of you who have done the research, giving a compliment after saying that the video is wrong, is what is known as a backhanded compliment. It means little, in other words.
Piltover is best understood as a Renaissance-inspired city, defined by its dedication to academia, technology, and the trappings of elitist wealth. Its shining façade caters to both its privileged residents and visiting tourists, while Zaun, its undercity counterpart, operates as a grim symbol of unchecked capitalism and industrial exploitation. Unlike neighboring realms like Noxus-rooted in militaristic expansion and feudal hierarchies-Piltover and Zaun are not driven by conquest or war. Instead, their story revolves around the stark class divide that separates them. This dynamic makes the fan beloved civil war between Piltover and Zaun less relevant when viewed through the lens of larger geopolitical concerns. To ancient nations like Noxus and faction like the Black Rose, such internal strife might be of little consequence. This allows the narrative to focus more naturally on the tensions between Piltover's elite and Zaun's oppressed underclass as a microcosm in a macro, developing organically for viewers unfamiliar with the broader context of the world.
I stopped at around 5 mins cause it became inaccurate. Vlad didn't leave the Black Rose, and LeBlanc is gathering black magics to prevent Mordekaiser's return. Isn't that how that goes?
Just to make things clear, please pay close attention to what I say in the video... I didn’t say Vladimir left the Black Rose! What I said was that he TRIED to leave. He didn’t actually go anywhere-he’s still part of the Black Rose, but he focused more on his own cult, leaving LeBlanc in charge of the cabal. As for LeBlanc, I said in video that this is just my guess, but if she ever wanted to, she could probably release Mordekaiser. Who knows what could happen next, right? Since none of the stories are wrapped up yet, it’s all still up in the air
@TavernKeeperLoL Bet I'll finish the whole thing and keep an ear open.
This is exactly what I needed, very well done!
Glad you enjoyed this video)
Rell sounds like a badass and I can't wait to see how Riot handles her story in their coming animated work!!! 😆
Not me thinking this guy is Yandere Dev for a second, he sounds identical to him 💀💀
So most noxians are bloodthirsty psychopaths
I love league lore. Can you make a video on Jayce & Viktors old lore?
That's a great idea) I think I’ll make such a video soon
Amazing analysis thank you so much for sharing!
Glad you liked it)
I've watched so many react and analysis vids on Arcane, but I do believe you're the first I've come across who (finally) mentioned the reference to "Liberty Leading the People." Good job. Liked and subbed.
Thx so much for your support 🙏
Finally someone that pronounce Leblanc without the C at the end!
Isn’t she le Blanc?
Yep
Always loved the Black Rose and their connections to powerful magics, but couldn't ever stand LB. I loved her in lore just not in game lol
Seriously riot would Miss A great opportunity not to make a series based around the noxian and demoxia wars
You mean Noxus and Demacia? I think they may be a little early in the timeline? It occurred about a century before the game date. Better candidates for the next series might be the Noxus invasion of Ionia, or Demacia's internal conflict with its own mages (Lux + Sylas).
@chriswilliamson9993 That was what I was referring to and I guess someone does sound more interesting. I'm honestly getting confused with the timeline of events from this universe so thanks are clarifying it for me
Wonderful use of the word “Despot”. Tickled my literary memory.
Riot already addressed this issue about arcane canon why the announcer is lying
