So grateful that I got to see Phil so many times 🙏🏻 rest easy in Phil and thanks for all the memories and wonderful music and times ❤ you know our love will not fade away ❤ a box of rain will ease the pain ⚡️
Lesh is indestructible. Liver transplant and at least two bouts of cancer, and he was 9 days from his 84th birthday when this was recorded! Thank you, Phil and band!
That's what I call the "Keith Richards Syndrome", syndrome not to be taken seriously😉. That's when your body is "wearing out" but your brain "refuses" to😄.
It's usually good genes, but in Phil's case, his mom died at 81 (above average, but not unusual) and his dad died at just 66. And Phil has already lived longer than 3 of his 4 grandparents did. So I'd say it has more to do with diet and metabolism, in this case. You rarely see an obese or even just overweight man in his mid-80s and still be relatively mobile -- or alive at all.
I saw Phil the first time in 73 in Denver and then at least a dozen times until 78 those were the best years of the Dead. He taught me that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole..He perfected his life and even more importantly gave to others, May his soul continue forever to accomplish what he did when he was alive, we will miss you Phil keep up the good work 4:39
I m here in Stockholm Sweden lisen to the show.its so, Great i wish i hade meet him.i Saw the Grateful dead in Stockholm 1990.it was Super.i Meet them in heaven.,.Phil was something , wonderful Nature made A normal, good hearted man from California.Im 64years ,now so i Meet them soon in Heaven..i m goin to look för my Wonderful dog ,that i lost. .Rick Thank you Phil
Without a doubt the Q is the best band Phil ever led. The shows from 2000-2003 with this group were Phil's second peak after '68-'74 imo. The Grateful Dead had some qualities that I miss with the Q, but the Q was much more technically capable of rising to Phil's musical vision.
Nice opening and so tight! Took my 86 yr old grandpa to PLQ in Vermont many moons ago and being very tall you could see his white-hair bobbing around on the floor as the second hand smoke took effect. Later he commented "these boys don't know when to stop!" Love you grandpa. Love you Phil!
Now that's a great quartet! I wish Phil would go back to the 4 string Alembic modified Guild Starfires he was using circa '69 -'74. That was tone to die for, not the characterless low frequency presence of the six string. Thx for posting...🌠
What a great player. As a bass player, I am in awe. He has never been a player that I looked to emulate but I admit I just was not hearing what he was doing. Sorry to all the fans who loved him.
What a treat. Thank you Phil for all the great music. Thank you Cody for helping Phil perform an incredible second act. Thank you lostmydayjob for this treasure of a recording.
Dude, I am a 47 year old guy and I have a hard time just getting up and out of bed most days... How in the ACTUAL F**K did Phil Lesh continue playing live music until he was 84? This concert was only 9 days before his 84th birthday.. Look at him throwing it down on the bass and singing, too? I can't imagine living to that age and still having enough life-force to do this. Wow.
❤"Unbroken Chain"❤ A FUSION masterpiece With VOCALS...sweeeeet.. Phil hanging in there on vocals. Barely God Bless him. He could have used some help but alas, the Band maybe couldn't? Any way..."Mars Hotel" 1974!!!! Still Flanked by two of the best Guitar players there are In any Day or Age.❤ the Masterpiece. Like so many others.
If you watch closely Phil seemed to have some sort of issue with his in-ear monitor during some of those vocal sections, I was standing in the taper section for this show and some of the tapers were pissed at the crew about it lol. Still a real cool jam here, Unbroken Chain rules.
@@siggiotto1253 I think @haroldcromack1065 is comparing this band to Dead and Co not the G. Dead. I agree Dead and Co is a mere shadow of the G. Dead and this band mainly due to Bobby insisting on a tempo for quaalude enthusiasts.
What tempo do quaalude enthusiasts prefer ? Listen to the Booby Weir Incident 10/27/24 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park. 3 days after Phil's death a great and inspiring performing by Bobby & Band. See and enjoy😊@@InService77

Flew in from Alaska to be at this show and am so glad to have made it.

Warren Haynes is such an underrated talent.
"Underrated" by whom?

What exactly is his rating?
Not universally well known maybe, but a giant in his scene.
Viva Phil!

this show deserves a grammy...where are we on that? before cell phones we'd always plan to meet up in the Phil zone. Oh Phil.😢
Thanks for all the fanatical flavorful and amazing runs Phil. Rest well my brother.

Thanks for this show! Seeing Phil is the hug I needed.
This configuration is one of the best that Phil put together, IMHO
Agreed!!!
I'm pretty sure he felt the same way and wanted to make sure to get them all together one last time.

2 SWEET! i was just thinking of these shows & POOF here we are!
We need the Lesh family to release a box set of Phil & Quintet material as well as Phil and Friends material. 3 record set with a great booklet.
Now that's a great quartet! I wish Phil would go back to the 4 string Alembic modified

The Quintet is the most authentic post-Jerry, Dead energy in my humble opinion
Excellent. Thanks
The "Q" is by far the BEST GD related band since Jerry checked out. So grateful to have seen them a couple dozen times.
The Q as in NRBQ??
NM got it Quintet…and yes agreed!!! Also im a big Q….NRBQ fan…thank Q
Thanks 4 all the years
Phil’s band is a fun time. He had a restaurant in Marin. Good food good time.
Phil still dropping bombs at 84
I love the way they played the songs together, without being a "Tribute" or "Cover" of the original GD ⚡⚡👩🚀👩🚀💃💃💃💃👩🚀👩🚀⚡⚡

@@LostMyDayJob yes.
No, it's not the Dead, but do you all realize the other 4 musicians you are listening to? Wow!!! RIP PHIL!!!
How long has WARREN HAYNES been in this particular ensemble. They are outstanding
This exact P&F Quintet lineup first played in like '99-2000 I think! Still killing it.
First time I saw Warren with Phil was In Kalamazoo Michigan. 1999. Touring with Dylan.
RIP Phil
❤️👍
They sound way better than dead and crap 💩 🙏🇺🇲
There are shows by GD that are at least equal good If not better than this good Phil Show. - Comparing is stupid
Couldn't agree more.
I've been seeing shows since 73 and I agree. Wolf bros better than D&C too
