Warren’s Christmas Jam is maybe the best annual indoor get together of a rotating group of musicians on one night. Always a treat for all the music loving locals of the Asheville area over Christmas. It’s been tamed some but it use to start about 7:30 and go until 4am with the finest musicians in the world. Pick a year out of the decades and you’ll enjoy it. 🙏🏽
Hope it is still happening in '24, after Helene's floods and Phil's passing. Community needs it as a big fundraiser for arts organizations and recovery.
Phil and Friends----thank you for all the happiness you've given all of us who love your music so much. Phil Lesh, one of the best bass players of The Rock n' Roll Generation. Love to all!!!! xox
Aww man, thank you. This was my first and only PLQ show. I was 21, had just had my first back surgery for a ruptured disc 3 weeks prior (the day before thanksgiving), and stood for 6+ hours that night. I was in a ton of pain, but wasn’t going miss seeing Phil and the guys. I did skip out in WSP though, having seen them a few times prior.
This band was on top from fall '00 till '02 then Phil decided to play with core 4 , band never got back together. Lucky to have been in attendance for quite a few!
Hey Tom Banjo It's time to matter can I confess Phil&Friends spent more time doing what I loved about the GratefulDead than the GratefulDead did without setting off flame throwers? a steady flow of tasty surprises all along the way and then there are the set lists ... loved the storyline set lists GratefulDead's song selection anti-method method delivered I never once wished they'd play what I wanted to hear at a show -- seeing what they chose & the conversation of juxtapositions therein was a huge part of the fun (so fun we could even enjoy just reading the set lists) & they sure as heaven earned the right to do whatever the hell they liked regardless of outcome or other folks wannabes, but Phil's post-GD bands played what I would have wished for if I'd been willing to wish
@@stevenmeilleur671 bringing me back here to see what you agreed with reminded me this vid is a great show I ought to revisit I minimize time spent living in the past, but, it IS a past w/ many moments worthy of revisiting from time to time so thanks for the reminder. so many gifts of spirit these bands gave so many @ such fine+varied spirit food.
2001-2003 saw over a hundred shows with this lineup. The days before smart phones made everyone dumb and neurotic. Last show of any group was 2019 and that was the last for me. More people cared about their phones than the music. Maybe I would see Phil again if it was a small venue outside of the major cities.
I wish Jimmy would let Warren fly with his guitar solos but he just seems to be a bit of a controlling lead when it comes to letting that other person go for it with the creative path they're taking, musically speaking.
We are blessed to have had all the talented musicians in our life. Phil gave me so much. May the four winds blow him safely home
My best phil show ever. Rest easy brother.
Glad i got to see the Q numerous time... thanks Phil. The music is forever
I was there. One of the best Phil shows I’ve ever witnessed. It hit every mark. Drove six hours just to see the Q, and they delivered.
Worth the drive! 2 of my all time favorite guitarists plating with my Fav Bassist of all time
Thank You Phil. Peace and Love.
I was there for this one!
This is a remarkable band. I had the pleasure of seeing the Q twice. Two of the best shows of my life.
This show was my second time seeing Phil with the Quintet

loved the storyline set lists GratefulDead's song selection anti-method method delivered

I never felt sorry for the singer. What was he doing skipping through a lily field in the first place?
He was Smiling on a cloudy day...
He was ESCAPING! Not skipping! Well maybe, cause it’s Bobby…

Now that's the Phil & Friends band. Now it's just a Garage band every time he plays. Especially when his son is allowed to sing...
North Carolina boys on both sides of Phil! He knew what was up
