What type of needle did you use. My needle has a hard time with denim and iron on patches I can’t imagine trying to get through leather

No it does not. Just make sure you are not sewing patch over an internal pocket.
So did you sew through the lining ?
Yes I did as the client didn’t want to pay extra to open up lining.

just used double sided craft tape.
