    Can I convince the meat eating public to eat tofu? During the duration of The Off the Hook Truck Tour we handed out over 1,000 FREE portions of Unity Diner tofish & chips along the south coast and had some incredibly positive reactions.

      @@corison I'm sure you're taking him out of context. The purpose of existence of these animals is to serve us in terms of food, security (dogs), leisure, work, medical research, etc. Knowing the purpose (reason) of existence of anything in the universe is key to knowing how to use that thing. • @Lerian_V
      @Lerian_V 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@corison Yes, absolutely. It's not the pain and/or death that constitutes moral wrong. A moral wrong is committed only when a divine (eternal) rule is violated. Likewise, it's not the harming or killing of a human being that constitutes a moral wrong; it's wrong (and therefore murderous) to kill a human unjustly because it violates the divine law.
      If the mention of "divine law" or any religious term is off-putting for you, then we can stick to the PURPOSE of existence argument... still brings you to the same conclusion - should we go with our feelings and guts (man-made morality), or should we accept and acknowledge that morality is objective and not what we decide.

    It's insane how deep the vegan hate goes - like there are literally millions of people who think vegan food is all gross, inedible, nutritionally dead gray goop or algae. I've heard so many omnis be like "and the food is good....?" Like, let's be real here, I love animals but I don't think it would be possible for me to be vegan if vegan food was disgusting. It is extremely difficult to eat disgusting food, it's against our very DNA, it's why we have taste buds: yummy = calories and nutrition (well, our brain thinks that anyway). This was a really good idea, and even if just a few choose less animal products it's a big win. :)

    Seems like a lot of people think that the bolt is what kills the animal which isn’t true, it’s only to stun the animal before killing it.
    And at least here in Sweden the bolt is mainly used with cows and with pigs they use carbon dioxide. These people talking about ”humane slaughter” should be shown what it looks (and sounds) like when pigs are being subjected to that.

    • @Lerian_V
      @Lerian_V 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mode of killing an animal is an ethics issue, not a moral one. The best method is to stun and then slit its throat and allow it to bleed out. End of story. The vegan moral argument doesn't really hold up because the purpose of existence of these animals is to serve us in terms of food, security (dogs), leisure, work, medical research, etc. Knowing the purpose (reason) of existence of anything in the universe is key to knowing how to use that thing. That's why the moral argument for veganism is the weakest of all the other arguments.

    • @mikk5540
      @mikk5540 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Lerian V Don’t know why you commented that here? I’m not discussing what’s morality and what’s ethics. My comments was aimed towards those who doesn’t know the process of killing animals within the meat industry.
      But for the sake of replying to what you wrote, animals existing for the purpose of being of use to humans are nothing but your beliefs, not a solid fact.
      We don’t need to consume animal products to live a good life, a lot points to it being actually better than to keep consuming animals as we do today.
      I could continue this but I feel that my reply is long enough.
      Just to finish off, you have the right to believe that animals are here to fulfill your needs but framing it as a fact is just plain wrong.

      heart patients have his shape, ask any heart surgeon☝️.

      @@lilithstorm7026 I like how he discusses his opinions in an adult manner and does not shout and scream. I wish more people could behave like this with other subjects. I'm not vegan but eat some vegan food as I enjoy the taste.

      @@sidsnot6952 Oh I see, yeah I agree, I think some people who are vegan respond like this because they feel very emotional about what we're doing to animals and they haven't learned all the facts in order to respond so calmly and collectively. I'm sure this is the case with some other subjects too. People in general also just need to learn to listen to each other instead of like mentioned just shouting lol Out of interest what would prevent you from being vegan?

      @@sidsnot6952 That's great, those all sound really delicious and healthy! :) Is it because you'd miss the taste of meat too much? If so, ask yourself what's more important, our sensory pleasure when eating an animal, or that animals life? I get where you're coming from as 3 years ago I couldn't possibly imagine myself being vegan but now my only regret is not doing it sooner!
      The good news is there are now so many plant based alternatives to meat, cheese and eggs that taste very similar, some even more flavoursome!

    Great explanation of GMO soy from Ed. And I simply must recommend in the U.S. a Fish-Free Tuna by Good Catch. It is everything you might remember liking about eating tuna except it doesn't have that nasty spoiled fishy taste! "Seafood Without Sacrifice" is their logo. It really is incredible, please try to find it in your area. My favorite is the Naked in Water style.
