  • Sport Jets are some of the nicest flying RC Airplanes ever made. The BRAND NEW E-Flite Viper 64mm is a top notch fun sized EDF that has top notch features! The weight of the 64mm Jets make them great options for people looking to venture into EDF flying and with Spektrums Software update on the receivers, the guess work of setting one up to fly is GONE!

    I had my first 3 flights on this smaller Viper and I had a blast! Two flights with gear on last one hand launch. The launch assist in safe mode does a great job getting the plane in the air with just a easy toss. I flew 2200 4s w/flight time of 3:45 min. and 3300 4s Zee battery a flying buddy loaned me and got 4:30 with an additional 30 sec to land. you will want 50c or greater. This plane fly's like it's on rails. SUPER SMOOTH!

    Love the iconic slam and go. I just purchased a new eflite viper 70 mm and it's orange. Did not have option for the blue. The orange is kinda cool. I would love to get the 90 mm.

    Hey jay, if you like some of those crawlers so much, you should definitely give the rc excavators a try, i dont think youll regret it
    (Especially filling sand in your crawlers boot using it)

    My biggest concern is with the AS3X+ programming the switches HH way it is inconsistent with the way I set up switches for all my planes.

    Hey Jay, Love your videos, they're awesome! Can you please share with us any knowledge you have regarding that nice, slick landing strip you have? Wondering about materials used and any installation tips. We recently lost our flying field with paved runway in Central NY, and would love to create a nice landing strip at our new field. Thanks!

      Tom Hunt can give more info! But it was leveled by our landscaper as smooth as possible. And the material is geotex! You stake it down and tar the seems!

    One day they'll make a 64mm jet with retracts (twin 64mm models don't count). I believe in that dream.

    • @Jays_rcgarage
      @Jays_rcgarage  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am with you! Although the durability factor of non retractable as well as weight I think plays a factor. I would love a 30mm with retracts !! Lol

    Lovely plane. Great flying plane too. But i guess its also down to your skills.. i have the fms 70mm viper. Is this easier to handle than the 70mm?

    • @Jays_rcgarage
      @Jays_rcgarage  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Way easier. I love that Jet also. Making a video about it soon. But the 64mm class is lighter and floats! The AS3X in this is so perfect it almost feels like it has heading hold.

    How does this plane compare to the Habu SS 70mm (not the Habu STS 70mm that you and your daughter flew.) The Habu SS is a bit hotter than the Habu STS. So I am wondering how it compares to this plane.

      Personally, I find the Futura 64 from FMS a better value and much better for experienced pilots who want their first EDF.
      The Viper 64 costs 249 dollars PNP. The Futura 64 is 189 dollars PNP.
      I have flown the Vipers and, while they are wonderful once airborne, they have this nasty characteristic of tip stalling violently and without warning when slowed down just a tad too much or if you flare with just a very tiny bit of too much flare. And they must be landed perfectly or they do this kangaroo bounce until they stop or the landing gear is broken.
      The Futura 64 is much mire forgiving and flies slower- perfect for getting used to handling an EDF.
