So this will be like a $100k car. Not mad! Edit: I love how Cleet is the tide that lifts all boats. Every friend he promotes, he generously plugs their channels, gives them air time, lets them play and film at his race track, and I've noticed he will give a little time for others to post their videos first from an event that he puts on before his own videos. Class act, and I truly believe the best thing to happen to motorsports in a long long time.

I second this! The man is a mad scientist, a professor and a genius! And he’s got a good personality. I think seeing more of him on your channel would help both of you out. Your cars get dialed in and you learn a few things while he gets some publicity. We all win.
Ive known kevin since he was a parts counter jocky for the local hot rod shop. His knowledge of this stuff is amazin and he is humble as any person ive ever known . I had him put the headers on my sons v6 import lol he calls me and send pics saying i just couldnt put these on looking like they did with crappy welds etc o and i remade a few of the tubs to flow better and clear every thing lmbo it cost me but dang they did look sweet and im sure worked better than the car even deseerves

Two things from me..
1: The guys at Frankenstein are unreal. That intake is and absolute work of art.
And 2: I, personally, don't feel you need to explain yourself for having Kevin build this car. First of all, you guys are good friends who do a lot to support each other, and this is just another example of that. Secondly, Kevin is a master at what he does, so we all know that car is in good hands.

Anyone else impressed over the last few years how good Cleetus has gotten at drag racing and how far his knowledge of cars and motors have come? Hes always had a thing for racing. But as time has gone along, hes gotten increasingly better over time. He went from a decent driver to a seasoned driver. Imagine where he will be in 5 years.

The Jet sounded fun. A guy I used to work with did a Jet Peterbuilt here in NE Ohio. Its not really a race car as much as a show off thing. Its wasn't long and it was sold and they went back to Super Mod Diesel engines in semi pulling trucks.
Kevin is the perfect guy to be doing that. He is so OCD Every little detail will be taken care of and there would be no corners cut. I cannot wait to see that Elko flying down the street
My favorite part about Kevin is that he not only knows how to collect all kinds of data, but he knows WHAT that data means and understands how it affects performance and is able to use that to make the appropriate adjustments to dial it in and go faster. He has a deep understanding of the science behind going A to B.

Now that I'm no longer affiliated with Pro Fab I'm even more excited about Kevin assembling the ElCamino. This build deserves the level of expertise and attention to detail that only KSR can bring. This would be the build to do a ac compressor for getting the intercooler loop to sub freezing. No more dumping ice in. You can chill below 0 F and have your IAT real cold. (plus ac since it's a street car too)
@Captain MufDyven a regular compressor would work? De-clutch for the run, so no HP loss.
Kill mode will be methanol.......IAT will be fine
@@timopheliac18 engine masters did a special on methanol ran through a "dry" intake. You should check it out....interesting as hell. All of these meth kits on dry ls intakes are actually dangerous unless you run a rich air fuel to start with. Pretty interesting stuff. Look it up...might change your mind a little about meth or at least make you scratch your head and think about it a little. Good stuff. I believe Richard Holdner (however you spell it) was guest host on the episode.
@Captain MufDyven Electric a/c compressors are more and more common now, pretty cheap and easy to find. All hybrid cars have them.

I don't think you could've had anyone better than Kevin building and tuning that car. All the love to Jeremy but wow Kevin is killing it.
Hard out, Kevin is a slow builder of monsters, Jeremy is a fast builder of screamers.. Same thing just different scale

Jeremy is a street/strip oem pcm tuner. Kevin is a hey you started with a 1/4 bolt type of tuner. Both are masters of there craft.
Kevin is a Holly certified guy, and the car is going to run a Holly ECU, but his build knowledge is amazing. Small stuff like coolant temp and pressure sensor in one makes Kevin one of the best choices for this build. Small stuff like that.
Jeremy is great with the GM factory computer stuff. Also, Jeremy is busy running his own channel and building his own cars.
Everyone cleetus talks to seems to be great partner choices, between brands or just people that work for him.
We do course racing in our family, specifically me Dad, and we are all pit, body and what not. But he has a sheet were he enters barometric, temp, humidity, etc. After a race we even measure each tire, outer, middle and inner portion of the slick, its temp. EGTs during the race. Pre and Post race air pressure. He was an accountant before retirement and is all about his numbers. A good driver still has to deal with the conditions of the world, cool to see Kevin is all about that. I remember at Moroso I went with my pops and I asked a lot of questions about the track, was my first time there, and gave him a suggestion about tire pressures. Few laps into his first outing, he had removed 3 seconds from his personal best there and the weekend got better from there. Sometimes racing is nerdy and sometimes it is you and the machine becoming more than there separate selves.

Those shock extension sensors will work for that, John doc just started using them and explained it pretty well.

I know I've been asking for an el Camino project update for weeks now and thx Garrett for this episode. Kevin is certainly building a high degree of sophistication into the car, much more than the magic he's already weaved into Ruby and Leroy. Your suppliers are awesome and it's great to see them on board...did a great job in giving them kudos. For me...the El Camino, the jetboats and where Ruby goes from here are the key entertainers 😐
