    Hey guys! Thanks for joining me here again today! I’m so happy this deep clean on the inside of our Shark Rocket Cordless vacuum IS COMPLETE! I added “chapters” to this video where you can skip ahead and go back to different sections as needed. It’s kind of like “table of contents” that you can click on - it’s new to TH-cam videos (or at least it’s new to me 😝). Let me know if it works or doesn’t work - I’m still learning and your feedback will help me make adjustments if needed. Thanks ya’ll! I’m so GRATEFUL for you! 🖤 Love, Cathy

    Not to be a nitpicker but a few drops of that dish soap right there would have made this whole process much faster and possibly even a wee bit cleaner as well. Pin-shaped soap molecules have one end that bonds with water (the hydrophilic head) and the other end that bonds with oils and fats (the hydrophobic tail). "When you build up a soapy lather, the molecules help lift the dirt, oil and germs from...[surfaces]"

      That’s what I do. I know they say just use water but I feel like they just don’t get clean enough. The littlest filter gets black sometimes and plain water just does not cut it

    I use old toothbrushes and very thin small round pointed knives and you would be surprised what your faucet sprayer full force can spray out of crevices. Also on the beater bar there’s a indent line that runs the full length of the bar. Run your scissors along that indentation to get under all the strings and hair and you’ll be able to clip them all at once then pull them off rolling the bar around.

    Couple of further tips. You can remove the red section of the dust cup by undoing the 4 screws. You'll need the right driver of course, but that part will split into 2, and yiu will also be able to remove and wash the large rubber grommit that's in there too. It also makes the cup itself easier to clean too and you wont need to mess about so much with those hard to get too areas. Just soak it all in soapy water, towel dry excess water and leave it all to air dry properly for 24hours. The other thing is there is another filter in the red motor part, easily removed by pulling on where the cup attaches. This is made of paper, so you'll need a brush or something to get the dust out of that. Then just push it back in.

  • @brucerock271
    @brucerock271 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Your 4 minute mark, I agree. Fine dust gets trapped between the gasket and cover because the gasket surface was not completely covered with adhesive. The gasket surface should have been 100% covered with adhesive or, as you suggested, none at all. The wet dust increases the time required to dry, looks as dirty as it is and promotes the formation of mold and who knows what else.

    We just bought one recently and I accidentally used it to pick up the dog hair in the bathroom after giving them a bath. Now every time we turn it on to vacuum it smells like wet dog. Any tips to remove the smell without completely disassembling it?

      Hi there, dogs are the best :) what kind do you have? Assuming you have already done the other things (clean the bin, clean the filters, etc) here are a few tips I found on chat gpt that may help you! Thanks for watching!!

    • @LivingGratefully
      @LivingGratefully  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Here are the other tips from chat gpt: Deodorize with Baking Soda:
      • Sprinkle a small amount of baking soda on the floor and vacuum it up. Baking soda is effective at neutralizing odors.
      • Alternatively, you can add a few teaspoons of baking soda to the vacuum bag or dustbin.
      6. Use Essential Oils or Vacuum Cleaner Fresheners:
      • Put a few drops of your favorite essential oil on a cotton ball and place it inside the vacuum bag or dustbin.
      • Commercial vacuum cleaner fresheners can also be used; these are usually small scented beads or discs that you can place in the vacuum.

      Our smelled like dog as well. The only solution was unscrewing those 4 torx screws and taking the dust cup apart. You wouldnt believe this stinky wet dirt inside. I still can’t get the smell out of the plastic 100% but it’s a lot better.

      Ive just posted about this as I done it myself a couple of days ago...
      You can remove the top section of the dust cup by undoing the 4 screws. You'll need the right driver of course (Torx I think its called, its like a six point star) ), and that part will split into 2, you will also be able to remove the large rubber grommet that's in there too. It also makes the cup itself easier to clean, solves those awkward areas, just use a shower head or whatever on it and / or soak it all in soapy water, towel dry excess water and leave it all to air dry properly for 24 hours.
      There is another filter in the red top motor part, easily removed by pulling on where the cup attaches. This is made of paper, so you'll need a brush or something to get the dust out of that. Then just push it back in.

Take a flat screwdriver and push gently down on the axle where there is a gap and it will pop out one side. Then you can lever the wheel out with the screwdriver from underneath the rubber tire. Do the other side and you can just push them back in when clean. Pay attention to the length of the axles as they are not equal both sides so as to put them back in the same way
