So I recently went to an interview for a government job and my take home was that interview questions need to be reframed because they were intimidating and highly jargonised(real word 😅) for an external applicant. It felt like a gate kept job to be frank. I love the experience that Given described because some of us are not good at tooting our own horns but need to be given a chance to showcase abilities. P.S. yes Bonga you are on camera 😂😂
I'm very well spoken, and never struggle with interviews. It's true, companies have missed out on better candidates because people like me can deceive them
Thank you B my friends used to say my cv is too ordinary but hv never been without a job with my Bachelor of Arts. One of them used my cv format & boom after 5 years of unemployment being admitted as an attorney she got a job as a Lawyer her specialty. 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
😂😂😂😂😂 ooooh my goodness this is absolutely one of my favorite episode.... "Am I on camera"🤣 Very powerful insight, I had to make sure I share this episode with my little sister because she's still at varsity Thanks you guys ❤
Fully enjoyed this episode as it was quite informative especially as a university student . I also feel like these conversations put my thoughts into words making me feel heard/understood.thank you for that
I did a first aid course in Grade 11 because I wanted to be prepared for potential babysitting jobs or to add skills/values to my CV. It's still something I will renew regularly and include on my CV. We didn't have a lot of money, but my mom saw the value, and my high school (former model C) encouraged us to do that kind of stuff for stuff like employability etc. I have a BA Hons, and literature and publishing was always my plan, but somehow i was proactive about my networking or spaces I involved myself in, even the part-time jobs i was fortunate to get and connections I made when job-shadowing. I was also involved in many societies at highschool. Even applying to my high school, I was able to get a testimonial from my priest to vouch for my extra-curricular activities etc. or my character etc. Odd little things can build a strong foundation or character reference for people. I feel like I just listened to what the teachers said, took it all literally when they said I can put it on my CV.😅
This episode relates to so many aspects of one persons life. And any career field. As long as a person finds themselves at a new job all of the above points mentioned in this episode are soo relatable! This episode was so worth the effort/hours you guys put in. Love love the content!
Thank you so much for this episode,I so wish we had TCC in Uni. I already graduated and I'm getting this info now.😂 I enjoyed the video nonetheless,I hope it helps someone.
But Bonga o tshwanelwa ke go nna Teacher or a Facilitator😊🤗.. We often dedicate an excessive amount of ourselves to our employers, neglecting the fact that we are easily replaced. In our relentless pursuit of professional success, and we tend to overlook our mental well-being and the loved ones who rely on us outside of work.
Arise sa is an independent party we as the people are funding it not knowing that there might be business back us...but there's nothing we get for free
Hi, Student Here. I have applied to some job sites where the job application requires you to fill in a brain-challenging task. How accurate are these brain challenges? Because I try to get ready for them however I do wonder how accurate they are? The brain challenges/ teasers I am referring to are the ones with a pattern and you have to find out the next item in the pattern or fill in the sentence with the correct word.
I wish I had known all this back when I started my first job, It would have changed everything.
Watching this video 6 months later after it's been posted. Thank you TCC team for this important information.
Finally getting to see Bonga❤
