Actually, this has been Kai's style since the beginning. He said since debut that he loves R&B, it's his favorite genre. This style of dancing and theatrics is actually started by Kai in kpop, the whole modern contemporary that you see other idols do, he was the one who pioneered that. In the past, all everyone knew to do was breakdancing and popping and krumping. Watch his solo teasers 2011, 2012 where he choreographed his own routines. That's when idols started to do the whole emotive lyrical dancing. It's a shame not a lot if people know and thinks he's being influenced or copying someone else. If the visuals and production are the same, that's because it's done by the same people at SM but the dance and style is totally Kai, tailored to him.

It's been almost 8 years that I'm into kpop I've seen many solo debuts. But istg I haven't seen anyone putting this much effort and creativity in their solo debut like Kai did!! He really is the standard!!
The concept, the visuals, the production, it's all Kai. It's an 8 months preparation. He chose the director for the film, the choreographer, the dancers, etc. SM gave him a budget but the majority of effort and money is by the artist if they want to have a solo project. The whole album is brilliant. It's no skip album.
Best thing SM did, was to let Kai have the creative control of his project. That's why he has given us a small masterpiece in every aspect. You reaction was a pleasure to watch. Thank you!

I have looked forward to this reaction from you guys, and it was fun to watch it all with you three. This is truly a masterpiece on every high level. Kai hit a home run on all the teasers, and there is no going back. REASON is my absolute favorite of all the teasers, because of what the restaurant, the people eating there, and the greedy guy eating, ALL represents. And, Kai's priceless reactions to the overindulgence around him in that restaurant, was amusing and note worthy at the same time. I truly love it!! And, then that full on swagger Kai had in that dance sequence inside that cube with the jeans, black sweater, and black face covering was pure FIRE, along with the Krumping he was doing in there, as well. Kai was really going at it, and his facial expressions made his swag look even more fierce. NOTHING ON ME, I love for the visuals and Kai's beautiful poetic dancing. That blueish pink sky was gorgeous in that particular sequence. AMNESIA, I love the vocals and Kai's sweet and soothing sounding voice on this one. Actually, Kai has a beautiful singing voice, lightly seductive and relaxing. The choreography, of course, is always very expressive and meaningful with Kai. He speaks through his dancing, no words required. Again, the visuals are incredibly brilliant and gorgeous. I would like to think that Kai had his teleportation skills hidden quietly inside him as he transition from one sequence to the next one. Teleporting is such a cool and awesome skill to have and utilize at the ready. And, Kai's movements are so fluid and effortless. He is a full work of art, a true artist. I wish reactors could stop saying Kai learned dance from taemin or something similar. Kai learned ballet since young and was the first to mix contemporary dance with street/Kpop dance in 2014.
