In EXO he showed he's a phenomenal dancer and performer, Idol of Idols, in solo he showed his depth and unconventional outlook, his personal taste and perspective. Kai is Art.
I admit I am biased as hell, even so this has to be one of the most over looked albums of all time award wise. It's a masterpiece. The visuals and dance were anticipated, but just the audio alone is more than fire - it's an inferno!
Yeah I literally have no idea why it gets so over looked.. this is by far one of the best albums ever. I really hope KAI and The Weeknd connect sometime in the future ahhaha
This introduction to his first album was 7 mins of sheer bliss!! I was so blown away with how each track was different and had something special for everyone. But a compilation of so many bangers on one album (debut at that) is extraordinary! The impassioned choreographies, multiple wardrobe changes, location shoots, superior editing, and over all production.., gawwwwwd can you say budget??!! Obviously, all the effort and hard work of Jongin needs to be applauded and appreciated. Because, it would have to be someone of Kai's caliber and charisma to pull something off like this . And every time anyone reacts to it, it's like the first time again for me. Anyway, I still feel to this day it warranted a lot more recognition than it did. Jongin, I'm telling you now what a masterpiece this is... the film, the album and you. Hopefully, the recent exposure in Kpop Flex will bring more light and fans to this amazing film and Kai!!

So, the Film is actually a story - a cycle through which Kai went as an artist: first he's alone practicing and dreaming of his future performances, in the second he's performing in public but nobody really cares or pays attention, then he undergoes different struggles and obstacles, like when he falls onto the ground in NoM his beautiful attire is covered in dirt and can't be restored. There's also a hint at the feminine side of his personality, but the analysis will take a long time then 😉. At the end he's on stage in the center surrounded by 8 other men in the inner circle and more dancers in the outer (Kai's position in EXO is Center and there are 9 members in total). The very end when Kai's thinking alone while the stage is being prepared before a performance suggests that actually this cycle repeats in his head every time, from planning and visualizing to actually performing.

If you think Kai is amazing, you should also check out Lay's solo work. Kai, Lay and Sehum are the main dancers of EXO. Unfortunately, Lay's contract expired few months ago and he didn't renew it. I think it's because he is making way more money solo. He is doing so much work in his mother China. He has become a mega star. He writes, composes, makes his own beats, directs, produces and does his own choreo. Not to mention that he plays a lot of different musical instruments and is executive producer of many reality shows in China; and also an actor. But his music is so good. Just like the EXO albums the members albums are No Skip song..same goes with Kai's 1st and 2nd album. Each members solo albums bring different flavors or vibe if you know what I mean 😊 When your in happy dance mood streaming Kai's song, just good mood songs D.O and Baekhyun will put you up to it. Felling senti and relaxin..Chen and Suho's songs is the one for you..well thats just me 😉😊 Plus the other members singles are just good that putting them in shuffle in your playlist is just musicgasm 😅
Kai is known for his dance so people tend to overlook his vocal capability.
