Love this fly. Du you prefer to buy a skin or the bags of loose feathers? People habe told me either are good as the skins do not have a lot of speckled feathers anyway. Whats your take on this?
@@frederik7511 great question! I actually prefer whole saddles. You get a variety of sizes and patterns on the same piece and it lasts way way longer than a bag of feathers. And sometimes those bags are like really really bad. 😅
@@Coastfly thanks, maybe I should invest if I come across a nice skin. But like you, I have a braha hen which also does the job (for most patterns anyways) and I really like the dense and soft feathers of it :)

Really unique. Do you use dubbing wax or moisture on your noodles or just wind them on the thread? Thanks
I just roll it directly onto my thread. Not a fan of smearing around with wax. lol occasionally i will make a dubbing loop. ;-)

@@frederik7511 I buy with flies in mind I could tie with that saddle or material I look at. I don’t buy materials for one particular fly. 😊
