Great fly. I've been tying these things for a couple of years in all sorts of colors and variations with feathers or flash for tropical saltwater, works great!
What are you targeting with it in the tropical waters? 🤔

Nice simple fly. I tie something like this but flip the fly after wrapping the hook and tie the flash in charlie style.

Since mylar and Krystal flash come in other colors in addition to your pearl-pearl version seems you could also make gold-gold, silver-silver, olive-olive, pink-pink, red-red, etc-etc versions. Ever try?

I have tied something similar but seeing this video gave me an idea on changing it up on the one that I tied and I use Cascade krinkle flash for the wing with an opal tinsel body, which I discovered that the body will reflect some of the color from the mirror like krinkle flash, so they look very nice. I also have taken some prism dubbing to make a small collar behind the eyes just to fill the void from the thread. I plan on using these ones for rainbows and dolly varden in the Kenai river here in Alaska but I will also tie a few of these on a stout hook because I know that the coho(silver) salmon will grab these very flashy flies. Your video gave me the final idea on what I tie nowadays. Even though I have not tried them on the Kenai, I already know that they will produce from the fly that I tied that was similar that incorporated the flashy material to make a minnow like fly. I also think the ones in a white color with a tuft a yarn under the eyes would make a nice alevin fly as well.

@@Coastfly it is a lot of fun and even for the reds(sockeye) that many who fly fish really won't get into the long leader type of thing to do a form of chuck n duck for the reds but since I love how the reds taste, I will not shun that style. Now the coho(silver) salmon will crush streamer flies when swinging them or stripping them in and they are a blast with how big some of them are in the Kenai river. The rainbows and dolly varden can also grow to sizes of the salmon that enter but also some are bigger than some of the salmon like reds or silvers because of them having the ruling on releasing anything under 16 inches to keep the guides happy on producing some monster rainbows with monster dolly varden. A Kenai river king has been a dream of mine for years, which I have hooked some very large ones in the 90s there but I could never get them in from being on the bank and now they are pretty much gone. ADF&G trying to save them when I honestly feel that the kings are far beyond trying to save now.
It looks like the one I have been missing in the my flybox this summer. There has been hardly any water in the rivers in northern norway this summer due to a heatwave. I will wil try it next summer.😃

Simple is always deadly 😊 there is a pattern called the Baltic special, kind of similar but has White crystal flash and blue crystal flash over it, and is a deadly pattern on the estuary. Keep up the great work, loving the videos bro 💯💯💯💯💯🎣🎣🎣🎣
