Suggestion: I dunno if caring for the animals is time sensitive, but if it is, you may be able to cut down some time by taking their temperatures before collecting feces. It takes time for them to poop and temp checks are instant. The penguins having a rainbow of different spot colors makes me wonder if they're a species of penguin I've never seen, or if the penguins mutated to have hot pink cheeks. I got so stressed when Mike kept mixing the medicine wrong! But I can't complain because I'm too afraid to do a playthrough myself. And sometimes you can find secrets by messing up. Keep up the great work Mike!
My guess is to get the best ending you 1. Don’t give your wife the meat, 2. Cure the animal since I think there was a text thing about curing them, 3. Deal with all the animals.

It might be poisoned, does the facility have some sort of cafeteria with regular meat? I don’t want Paul’s family to eat poisoned meat. 🥩 he said he wanted his girls to eat normal food, but I hope that meat isn’t poisoned.
This game looks good in many ways, but also incredibly half-baked in many ways. The animations of the animals after they are mutated, is so glitchy that it ruins the fear factor for me. And the jump scares are not worth writing home about. Another thing that bothered me was that when an animal mutates, the other animals just walk around like nothing is wrong. They should be panicking. I had such high hopes for this game. I still love the art, the concept, and the mutations.
There are WAY more issues with the game. I was honestly excited and played through it so quickly, and... well the game just 'resets' after you tend to each enclosure in a 'night' with a few more unlocked. My first playthrough, I felt robbed of some key info during the tutorial (blood/sound sampling) and hen the fist mutated animal attacked, i panicked and ran to the train, just to see that it wasn't following me. I felt like... 'where's the horror? where the survival?' and I ended up losing many of the animals because things weren't fully explained. And Paul BARELY reacting to these elements, or not asking the right questions? Like... wow... Voice-acting seems ai generated at times, and there is much that doesn't sync-up correctly. Not worth it right now as-is, but hopefully there's an update that fixes a lot.
Ahh, who can forget a job interview? Filling out papers, signing papers, laughing at not-at-all-funny jokes, getting injected with bright green mystery goo, being abducted to risk life and limb that night before you get the job...tale as old as time, really.
I really wish Doc wasn't a villain. I enjoy his character but it feels kinda boring how he doesn't even try to hide that something is horribly wrong in this place. As an example: the injection would be so easy to disguise as an actual shot for health reasons cause that's just a part of the job when you are working with animals. Voice acting and graphics are pretty good, though, and the monster designs are absolutely awesome.

I understand the hesitation to pay people for this, but it’s strange that this is becoming a problem in newer games. They look amazing but sometimes sound like they developed by aliens with no concept of human nuance of speech.

Something that should also be a red flag I don’t see people talking about Setting aside penguins who eat fish. There’s only two animals in the game known to eat any level of meat, gorillas which are omnivores (but fed almost exclusively herbivore diets in captivity) and hippos which are mostly herbivores. There is no carnivores like lions, wolves, bore, bear, ect This zoo DOESNT need meat on hand, no it SHOULDN’T have meat on hand.
As Jacksepticeye said at the end of his play trough I think part of the way to the better ending is instead of euthanizing the monstrous animal you feed them the meal with the meat in for the infected to calm them down

Luved it so far but gonna be honest its a little buggy with the subtitles not always matching thier voice lines but bugs like that can get through the cracks as this is a small indie game and not a giant 1st party studio making this game.

Been interested for a while but am not good with horror so watching you play is a nice substitute. Tho I though release would take a bit longer.
Btw, "Metzger" means Butcher in german. Thought it was an interesting detail
