Honestly it's kind of sad seeing what the scientists did to Playtime Co. Because from what we've seen and heard of Elliot Ludwig, he genuinely seemed to only have the best intentions in mind. He wanted to make Children smile with the toy's he created, the scientist and especially the Bigger Body's indicative basically ruined that.

Yes. He's so genuine in his determination to make children smile. And Playcare is nice without the experiment part. Maybe that came later. Once he had his daughter back they took control.

Even if you do have good aim and visibility, you’re still risking a chance of missing the toys’ vitals and Second, using a gun would alert more threats about your vicinity and can possibly hone in on your area. It would also deafen your ears for a couple seconds which can leave you vulnerable. Third, imagine you showed up with a gun after rescuing poppy or when you met kissy. Dogday said he is the last surviving Smiling critter that is until the tiny smiling critters took over him. Maybe Kickin Chicken is into hiding like he said he is
Yeah, she also probably didn't know that he was dead so when Poppy said it Kissy looked like she was in shock (look at the eyes). Also I think that would make sense that the children that are inside of them were close since these two toys are ment to be a couple
Speaking of Nightmare Huggy, he was theorised to be a hallucination anyway. But as for what Poppy said about our hero being tortured, part of a theory believes that employees were experimented on to keep the mad science experiments and that the employees are genuinely good people
That would explain how our employee was somehow able to fit through those small vents and withstand such long falls and jumps with no subtle injuries whatsoever.
I meant to say part of a Kissy Missy theory I vaguely remember and keep the mad science experiments secrets, but yes it explains jumping and fitting in small places with no pain. Also, when I said experimented on, I meant memories were erased to keep the secret of the mad science experiments but I still meant all the great physical feats our hero pulls of
especially judging by how in one of the tapes, the foster worker GENUINELY sounded concerned for her kid, she actually wanted to just hear her voice just to ensure she's ok 😭💀
22:50 re-calling it, the kid is catnap, he’s trying to get to the prototype, the reason we can’t hear his voice by the statue is because it will give away the suprise
Why does Ollie sound he's about to throw us down an elevator shaft after we've escaped an evil robot? Edit: thank you to all 285 people who knew who I was referring to.
@@talesferreiralimadossantos8806 he sounds like gregory from fnaf security breach. I'm referencing the ruin dlc, no spoilers tho if you haven't seen the ending.
Currently 23 minutes in, here’s my prediction: “Ollie” is either the prototype or some other playtime co. creation. If he’s the prototype, maybe he wants you to divert the red smoke so that he is able to move around more and get out, which he can’t because he’s being constantly sedated.
I have a feeling that he will follow a simular path to Wheatley at first kind and helpful but gains power over them and goes bad, hopefully not because I love characters that help you in horror games but they either die or turn evil :(
@@christianparrish3292 From portal 2. For the first half of the game hes your sidekick until you defeat glados (kinda rouge ai) by putting him into control over the robot glados was in aka giving him control over the facacility. Then he turns on you and tries to kill you
I genuinely think that many kids did get adopted by caring employees, but when the kids get 'sick' in PlayCare, they are taken away, leading to the parents blindly trusting, dissolving into emotional wrecks (like the woman on the first tape) demanding their kids back, or just sucking it up and doing their job if they were a scientist. I assume that a very rare scientist would take their kid (if they were chosen or became 'sick') and run, quitting the job in the process. I get the feeling that our character is very tender-hearted because they came back just for any surviving ex-coworkers, and didn't really know what was going on behind the factory scenes.
I don't think it's just a reference. I think the most common complaint they got from c1 and c2 was how it wasn't super scary, so for c3 they looked at other great horror games to see what clicked, hence the bioshock opening and the resident evil mansion.
I feel like Elliot truly loved kids and was driven to madness when he lost his family Edit: also this chapter is way more creepy and outright scary than all the others, especially because this chapter focuses on suspense and slow burning horror whereas all the others focused on jumpscares
Wow. That’s amazing. This chapter was well thought out. Catnap was horrifying, the story was good, and playcare was given a good amount of respect. It’s safe to say that poppy playtime has beat the “for kids” allegations.
I wouldn’t jinx it, but I think they’ve seen their reputation and have tried to fix their game, taking it from a crappy bendy rip-off to its own game, similar quality to Dark Revival or Fnaf ruin
@@theunpopulargamingchannel2116 everybody gangsta till child experimentation looks less like a science fair and more like the tests people do to flay monkeys and stuff
This game looks absolutely incredible. They’ve definitely leaned in more towards the horror in this game. Duller colors, creepier images. It’s insane how much they’ve improved since the first game
51:58 I love the character development! Its really neat how the picky critter thats main purpose is to encourage healthy eating is the one who ended up eating everyone. It also confirms that most of the critters are dead. I really want to see piggy sometime during this chapter, which is unlikely, based on the phonecall with Ollie at the beggining of the chapter, but anythings possible.
10:03 May be a scary speculation but i think in this part when bubba says “want to know what I remember about you” he starts screaming almost like the scientist did during The hour of joy (when the toys went rogue)
So it starts off with you being “rescued” from the wreckage by CatNap, only for him to throw you into a crusher. Huggy Wuggy truly is dead and as expected, that thing that looked like Huggy is an illusion possibly from the Red Gas we inhaled, and the PlayCare traumatizes Kissy Missy that she nearly strangled us before Poppy intervened
The fact that 2 years ago we thought chapter 1 was the scariest game ever, and now when we compare chapter 3 to it it feels like a kid's game, just goes to show that chapter 3 is extremely frightening, so well crafted.
I can’t believe that Elliot did anything to that child. Also I feel like there’s other implications with it being found in a (possibly his) upstairs bedroom. It reminds me of how in real life when men take interest in children and in child care they are shunned, so maybe they’re playing with this real life prejudice
I feel like if The Protype did care about the children, then if Elliot did do what we think about that poor child.. then the Protype will be pissed.. I’m probably wrong tho
Im too much of a baby to play these games myself, but I love watching Mike play and all his theories & storied explained. Also I’m hiding in the comments until someone (hopefully) posts a jumpscare list 😅
WOW that TV bit with Huggy is such a great sequence. Poppy's playtime is slowing moving from mascot horror to a game that will be stolen from to copy the future. Always great to see horror games experiment with those "safe" moments in games.
Love the nightmare sequence also gives us an insight to the motivation of the mc, and how their past is hunting them again even though they mostly don't remember and are trying to find answersm
I really like how the developers put effort into recreating advertisements & news stories like this to make them look like they’re from the 90’s. It’s a nice extra touch that I really appreciate in this game.
The moment I realized they were doing a take on PT I couldn't help but clap. Absolute masterclass on paying homage to one of the more well-known scary games of recent time while also firmly making sure it fits within the setting thanks to the Red Smoke hallucination to justify the non-Euclidian aspect of the hallway maze and the weird radio messages. Amusingly, I think the radio saying "GET UP" is directly referencing the messages from the death screens.
That was insane! Seeing Catnap, that version of Huggy, and the crazy part is that it doesn't give you a moment to breathe since you were dropped into the action instantly. I'm excited, nervous, and terrified of what Chapter 3 will have in store for us all!
I think this is the earliest I've been, is this the actual chapter 3? I hope you have a great day Mike, and I still want you to uncover the secrets of "Little Goody Two Shoes." 2:00 I agree, that was unnerving... 29:14 I hate puzzles and mazes when I play horror games but I like to watch them on TH-cam for whatever reason. 41:28 WHAT THE HECK JUST HAPPENED?! That's like virtual reality, in a terrifying way! 42:07 Or the main protagonist was once a child that lived there, but Idk for sure since it never said ANY of the kids made it out. 46:29 Sus? That's an Among Us thing. 48:20 I feel bad for Kissy Missy, and you might be right Mike, that girl might've been who she used to be or someone close to her. 1:06:16 I legit thought that was Huggy, it was Kissy, it was just hard to see her fur. And Poppy's here! Poppy sure explained everything, and the Prototype won't let anyone out. I can't wait for part 2. But now I wonder if this is the last chapter, or if there is a chapter 4.
Tbh there’s obviously a chapter 4, since in one of the video chats they did they had a tab open for ideas for chapter 4. Plus that makes sense since I assume we still need to take out the prototype and idk get more LORE??? Cause wtf happened NRNSNFNND
I'm guessing that there's going to be a twist. Either; 1, Poppy is the real mastermind here, and The Prototype is preventing Poppy from "saving" every one. 2, Poppy and Prototype are working together to go about "saving" the world. Or 3, Poppy genuinely wants to help us, but she's corrupted and hellbent on revenge. Why do we need to redirect the gas? Why is Poppy talking about revenge so much? Who the hell is Ollie? The way they speak is so unnatural, even for a child. Near the end of chapter 2, Poppy seemed either emotionless or sadistically pleased that Mommy Long Legs is dead. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out in the next parts and chapters.
That scene with monitor while you slowly move forward is so Bioshock spirited, even starting with "my name is" and variation of "and im here to ask you a question". All this speech is really a Andrew Ryan-like and many places/situations/etc in third chapter feel like creators wanted to give at least a part of that feeling we were getting from seeing Rapture for the first time. Third chapter really tries to capture that feeling of seeing something once before great that has come down to rot and degradation. Oh, and a clear reference to Home Sweet Home project.
38:42 The "get up" reminds me of what the Prototype says in the beginning of the "monster tutorial" in "Project Playtime". 49:21 Seems like it. One of the cries among the screems we heard earlier sounded like a baby. 1:02:44 That reaction was funny😂 Edit (yes, I'm rewatching): is it just me or does the guy on the radio sound exactly like the prototype? So those lines, "DON'T MOVE", "Get up", whatever else he said, could actually be the prototype talking
@@compassrose1466 I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you? Either way it's a game and an opinion and if you don't like it then you can leave, Ive already had a bad day and you just somehow made it worse. This playthrough is already so terrifiying but awsome. Catnap is so creepy, and the fact that Kissy and Poppy have returend is great. Its amazing to hear all the new lore for the game. Can't wait to see whats next
49:20 earlier on in this playthrough the crying sounded VERY much like infant/newborn cries so… dunno if they waited for long before experimenting on kids
Holy heck, not even all the way through the video and they've definitely stepped up their atmospheric horror game. I don't find jumpscare style horror very scary, so I've never really been scared by Poppy Playtime before, but they're definitely hitting all the right creepy and scary notes with the atmosphere in this one
Something interesting I noticed: it seems like some children sleep in small, 2-person rooms like 47:30 , and others sleep in the rooms with lots of bunk beds. I wonder why some get the small rooms? Maybe the small rooms are for older kids/preteens, since Playtime probably has less of them? Now that I type it, the small rooms could go to the employees.
That's a good theory. I would believe it too that the playtime employees are framing Elliott. It seems that they're the true villains. But we'll just have to wait and see if it's true or not.
There is literally so much of stuff that can be turned into merch. Mostly I want the Huggy and Kissy pillows and some of the posters that you see while you're exploring. Mob Entertainment, if you see this message, I really would like to see these things become a reality. 😊 Also, the chapter so far is so creepy but so awesome. I'm so happy that you're playing this again Mike. Your videos are my therapy and will continue to be. 😊😁
i noticed in the recording at 45:12 that "Joseph" kinda sounds like craftycorn to some extent, their voices are slightly different but they talk in the same way with the stuttering
If anybody is wondering about the sound at 38:24 and other parts of the game, I believe it's the sound of a cat purring. It sounds a lot like when my cats purr and I have them close enough to my ear to hear their breathing. Hope I could help!
I have never herd Mike so scared 😂 been a while sense I’ve herd him say “what the hell” instead of “what the heck“ let alone in the tone of voice AND a voice crack 😂😂
I like how the welcome to playtime tape actually locks you in to looking at the TV. It will move your camera if you try to look away. Further into the video you get, the less you can move.
52:53 that actually sounds similar to the plot of 2016 weekly shonen jump manga: the promised Neverland. Where human Children are raised in orphanages to be food for demons.
pretty sure Ollie is a toy but one that's working with Poppy but keeping hidden for the time being. Presuming he isn't CatNap tricking the protagonist for whatever reason
He can’t be Catnap because Catnap is Theodore Grambell as we can tell from Mike’s theory videos. Plus Spoiler ahead In one of his other videos after this one there’s a video where they test “Catnap” calling him Theo
When Ollie said that catnap uses that place as his “church” I was confused as first but after some context I understand why. He’s like a cult follower and when the prototype shows itself, he literally knees like a follower when they see their god
this is actually such a horrifying chapter, i was literally on the edge of my seat the whole time 😭 (still such a good playthrough though, I love your videos Mike

Yeah, she also probably didn't know that he was dead so when Poppy said it Kissy looked like she was in shock (look at the eyes).
Also I think that would make sense that the children that are inside of them were close since these two toys are ment to be a couple

Fr after mimic I ain't trusting shit
Don’t trust any voice especially when the place look abandoned and being monitor by toy
The voice acting for Ms. Harper and the other VA in the first tape was really good like she was actually frightened of what she saw

I LOVE how the "Home Sweet Home" is a loving nod to PT. Especially the radio announcer who sounds EXACTLY like the original from the game.
I don't think it's just a reference. I think the most common complaint they got from c1 and c2 was how it wasn't super scary, so for c3 they looked at other great horror games to see what clicked, hence the bioshock opening and the resident evil mansion.

Good theory, but the player apparently wasn't there, since they Don't know what happened to the employees. Only that they went missing.

I can’t believe that Elliot did anything to that child. Also I feel like there’s other implications with it being found in a (possibly his) upstairs bedroom. It reminds me of how in real life when men take interest in children and in child care they are shunned, so maybe they’re playing with this real life prejudice

Poppy sure explained everything, and the Prototype won't let anyone out. I can't wait for part 2. But now I wonder if this is the last chapter, or if there is a chapter 4.
I guess at 41:28 it was a nightmare caused by the red gas

Canonically our character was the janitor
PickyPiggy: let's eat!
Chica: **THAT'S MY LINE YOU LITTLE-**
I'm guessing that there's going to be a twist. Either;
1, Poppy is the real mastermind here, and The Prototype is preventing Poppy from "saving" every one.

Now that I type it, the small rooms could go to the employees.
That's a good theory. I would believe it too that the playtime employees are framing Elliott. It seems that they're the true villains. But we'll just have to wait and see if it's true or not.
