Great splitting action. The more I see your splitter in action the more I like it. It looks like a fantastic machine to use and does a great job of even the difficult logs. Thanks

I’m impressed with that splitter. Log lift, adjustable secondary wedge. Nice touches.
    Cheers!

Thanks Whipple - The back saver was the primary reason I purchased the splitter. My old splitter could do vertical splits, but it was not ideal in my opinion. Thanks for watching and commenting - cheers

@@botabob When I turned 50 I bought myself the cheapest log splitter TSC had in their store. Think I paid $659 plus PA tax. Second best investment I’ve ever made for taking care of firewood for the camp and the house. It’s still a workhorse. Starts up on the second or third pull (only use ethanol free gasoline) and has never been any trouble. By conservative estimate it’s done five to eight cords a year for 12 years. If I do my math right, that equals a cost of about $6 a cord. It’s a win for me to save my shoulders and let mechanical advantage do the hard stuff!
      Cheers!

Thanks 👍 - it's been very good to me so far. Slower then I was expecting, but I can work longer with the help of the back saver log lift and the 4-way wedge increases my production. Not the log splitter for making firewood for sale. Just my opinion, but this really is the entry level splitter in the Wolfe Ridge line up. Thanks for watching and commenting - cheers

How did I miss the fact that you have a Wolfe Ridge splitter? I was going to get the 28HO, but started to like the budget friendly 28PRO like you have, but then the happy middle ground seems to be the 28C like Mike has on "Outdoors With The Morgans". Auto-cycle and the magnum package seems to be the ticket for me.

I got the WR28pro about 18 months ago. If you want to produce firewood to sell, I would not recommend the 28pro. It's cycle time is slow. I did two comparison videos about the 28pro and an big box store splitter. I think if you are going to make a big investment into a commercial grade splitter you should make the trip to the factory. I don't like to tell people how to spend their money, but I didn't know the 28pro was so slow. It cycles as fast as the box store machine and when you use the 4-way wedge, it might be slower. I use my splitter primarily without the 4-way wedge. The 4-way wedge creates a lot of crumbs. If I was to spend money for a splitter again, it would be the commercial or High Output model. Good luck buddy - maybe you should get up to the open house Wolfe Ridge has coming up in the spring - Thanks for watching and commenting - enjoy the journey - cheers

@@botabob, I was there last year. Fell in love with the WR28C in gun metal gray. But I also like the dark sapphire.

LOL - Henry Ford said you can get the model T in any color as long as it is black.

Thank you about the splitter. I wish I would have bought the commercial version. The 28Pro is a little slow. Yes I am! I really enjoy getting up and having somewhere to be. And now that my commute only requires a short walk to the home office, it's great. My dad got offered a job a few days ago and he is 81 years old. Smart business people recognize the value of older workers. My dad declined the offer though, when he quit his job in the 70s, he was done working for the man. that old gnarly wood don't even slow that thing down.

It's a very good splitter. However, I wanted something with a faster cycle time. The best part of it is the back saver log lift. The wood that I got was cut in the spring of 21 and was very wet. I actually had a hard time keeping a grip on the rounds. Water literally flowed from the would when it came in contact with the splitting wedge. as always, thanks for watching and commenting - cheers.
