Hyoh's latest limit burst has him speaking English in the game for the first time, effectively making this the first time Rain has been dubbed in English for this game. Strangely, Rain's new unit for the Esper of Destruction arc has him back to Japanese again. I wonder why.
That's a very good question. I asked previously that if they make so much money, why can't they ever dub characters with English voice actors. They do it for the Global characters, so why not the rest of the characters? Especially if the game is English. They are simply just lazy.
@@Tauraxus I agree. I can understand that hiring English voice actors would be difficult on a mobile game budget, but I imagine Brave Exvius is doing well enough that they could at this point. Either it's too much trouble for them or it's some other reason. I mean, Tales of Luminaria, for the short time it existed, had a professional English dub cast hired from across other games and anime, and there were a ton of original characters and spoken story dialog for it. Meanwhile, Brave Exvius has CG limit bursts where the characters only speak a line or two, yet the global units get dubbed by unknowns (and now for some reason, Hyoh got dubbed too). The contrast between these cases is weird.
@@Flegan777 it's always about the money. Even being a mobile game, they still make way more money than your average pc games these days because of gacha, etc, which you don't find in any other games. That being said... If you look at WotVFFBE, all their characters on the global version are English dubbed. The FF collab characters and other collab units are not English but the main cast are English dubbed. Another weird case if you want to add that. Why can they do it there but not in their other games? Their recent EoS FF game also had that issue. English sub but no English dub. Personally, if I was in charge of those games, I would have put in the corresponding dubs with the corresponding languages. Imagine playing a Chinese version with all Chinese dub but then playing the "global" version with Chinese dub... Lazy if you ask me.
@@Tauraxus You're not wrong. It comes down to money in the end. I haven't played War of the Visions, but I have seen videos and find it a bit strange that they do that too. Having contrasting voices is kind of fun at first, but only if they give us the option to set it that way, like King's Raid did (it let you set each individual playable character with their English, Japanese, or Korean voice actor for a mixed dub, which was a neat touch I've never seen done in any other game, mobile or otherwise). I think it really comes down to wanting to bother with dubbing them in the corresponding region's language, which in the case of both Brave Exvius and War of the Visions is obviously English for the global originals first (Elena, Yoshikiri, Richt, and so on). The strange thing is, Japan dubbed these same characters in Japanese, so the global exclusive units have regional voice matches over there while we still don't. I guess it's just too tedious and costly for Gumi to call in the voice actors to voice a one to two line Limit Burst, which really shouldn't be the case. Again, it's an odd contrast.
@Flegan777 War of the Visions ain't bad. I mostly just play it for the story. FF games always have some of the best stories. The only problem with games like War of the Visions is that stories are time gated. So you get bits and pieces of the story every couple of days and it can be quite frustrating. King's Raid, I think I have played that a very long time ago but never really focused on language settings, etc. I thought the global units were exclusively only available in the global version and not the Japanese one. Because I saw many collabs or exclusive units that can only be found in the Japanese version and not in the Global. It seems Gumi's main focus is only appealing to Japanese players and not global players. This can explain the lack of English dubs in the global version. But to be honest... If you watch anime, then I have to say, sometimes Japanese voice overs does sound better than the English voice overs. I tend to spend a lot of time reading the subs 😅😂
I have not seen any no. I think it might be on another version. I get my videos from the global game. The phantom beast has probably been released on the Asian version which is a couple of weeks ahead of the global one. I will do some research and check if I can find anything
