By the way! I havent seen people talking about this enough since I discovered this from my own currently on going semi-blind playthrough: there are two miracles that will greatly reward players that hold onto their low tier demons before fusing them: Warrior's Conception and Unforgotten Memories. Unforgotten Memories gives instantaneous experience points upon fusion in proportionate to fusion materials' stat and Warrior's Conception gives bonus stat boosts to the new fusion also proportionate to the materials' stats. Both of these miracles are available early enough and they are invaulable to create much stronger versions of a demon. With how often demons power up via good vibes from the Demon Haunt, you can easily rake in a bunch of bonus stats when combine with the above mentioned miracles. For example, I have a Mermaid, Nyami Nyami, and Naga that I held onto until each of them are around the lv 35-49 range to fuse Anahita. The result is a lv.33 Anahita instead of the usual lv.29. Not only that, but her magic stats were about 15 points higher than a basic Anahita AND I can pass down Naga's Resist Fire to flip around one of her elemental weakness for the Surt battle. Her magic is at the high 50s at lv.42 instead of the usual mid 30 to 45-ish under the effect of these two miracles. The Hydra is also another example. I know I wanted to fuse him, so I held onto a Basilisk (lv.40) , an Orthrus (lv.50), and a Yurlungur (lv.54) until they have all collected enough periodic vibe boost from the Demon Haunt. The resulting Hydra is lv.56 instead of the usual lv.54, gaining access to Resist Ice, Fire Pleroma, Great Mana Spring and Fire Dracostrike from his fusion materials. At such level, his stats are 68 Strength 49 Vitality 33 Magic 36 Agility 34 Luck As opposed to the usual: 54 Strength 43 Vitality 24 Magic 33 Agility 30 Luck If you're also like me who wondered why the demon fusion system even has options to fuse demons into lower tier ones, thats why. You can always fuse demons into ones that are tiers lower to be recycled again and again, and Warrior's Conception and Unforgotten Memories will also carry through until you loop back around to the specific demon of your choice, so therea never too late or too high level to push your demons' stats even further. Hydra is generally pretty underwhelming by the point when you can finally fuse him but with support demons like Onyankopon using his signature move, King of Tales, redirecting aggro with the addition of max buffing attack, then combo with Amabie, who is a great back up healer and buffer, you can pull off some really fun uunga boonga all out physical strategy with a Mighty Cleave (Low Accuracy but gurantee critical hit) +Dragon Eye (Increase Accuracy by 30%)+Resist Physical and Safe Guard(Missing, Nullify, and Draining of your attack wont penalize your press turn) Hydra, he can at times hit close to Murakumo (one of the late game Nahobino signature attack) numbers and slam the crap out of anything you come across (given that they dont null physical). Pardon the text of wall, but I think you deserve to know that long lasting friendships with your demon allies will absolutely pay off in the end. Happy gaming!

I see you're new so I won't give out any advice except for. Buying some spyglass. Also the games background story is so intriguing. It pushes me to keep going when I should be doing the subquest and looking for those sneaky Mimans.😅

I like that others obtained the power before the protagonist. Makes the power more special. One of the things that I didn't like about P4 was that it seemed like everyone could gain the power to summon a persona. If you're able to confront your shadow, then you get a persona. P3 on the other hand it seemed like only certain people were capable of gaining that power.

Just a little thing: do not underestimate the enemies or this game, the game is relentless most of the time. Don't use your main character as healer or support (unless you want him to have a support build), instead have him as the main attacker (physical build, or magic build). And have a demon for attack with magic or physical to complement the MC. Then the other two demons can be in charge of healing, buffs and debuffs, but also should have a magic based attack. If you already know an enemy's weakness, don't waste time healing with the MC, attack the weakness so that you may gain extra turns. Also don't expect your party to dodge attacks, and likewise don't expect the enemy won't.
Ya I definitely need to fuse better demons cause right now everything is wack 😩 but I need to remember to hit weakness first to get extra turns! I always panic during fights cause I think imma get one tapped 😞

SMT does make you think about morality and sometimes you have to make somewhat difficult decisions. I hope you continue playing the other games in series. Strange journey and smt iv are the best. Also try to find miiman to help with glory. There is cirronup who can tell you where they are located for fee at the end of each area. Also the side quests give you a chance for new magatsuhi skills
Right! ...btw , if you take your time and level up to 99 the demons you first encounter they are eventually some of the most powerfull! It seems! Thus, why you why first encounter them in the game, the true survivors of it all! Slightly underbuffed Artemis and Yakshini with Xuanwu and Basilisk took turns tap dancing on both Baihu (white tiger) Qing Long's grave! I was happily suprised! Obariyon and Mandrake at lvl 99 are real terrors! And cute to watch! I now have Quezteqatal and Anahita leveling up! The mix must be just right balance not too much power with perfect pinch of Magic, Luck and agillity per demon! I think i have my crew now! Initially i try to keep 30,000 money balance to get the demon at stats i can work with! Your crew of demons sounds powerfull! Mix the stats right with not too much on power! Good luck! Enjoy its a statistical crap shoot anyhow!
@@Suhtired you can play the creation story on new game plus if you want however while the eary game for the vengeance route is easier for this chapter imo the final fights are much harder than creations
SMT is not really a series where you should get overly attached to your demons because the demons you start with are definitely not the ones you finish with. Unlike Pokemon, you're constantly fusing, negotiating with new demons, etc. So it's a little mystifying they added a "bonds" system, even if I like it. But for what it's worth, I like to think fusing demons isn't "getting rid of them", they're simply changing form. ie. your mermaid could one day be an Anahita.
I consider fusion in SMT the equivalent of evolving in pokemon. But i suppose one could technically stat boost a mermaid and teach it powerful abilities for late game.
@@zackfair6791 I mean, that's exactly what the DLC enables you to do with grimoires. I did that with Artemis. It's totally viable provided you do a lot of grinding. Otherwise, fuse fuse fuse.

To answer your Question, Vengeance is a separate campaign mode, so it's like an alternate storyline.
I’m really enjoying the new stuff they added with Vengeance. I was already a fan of the base game but this is such a good improvement.

...as well invest in Freikeugal type abilities especially with those "tear drop" multiple types! Really beneficial! Next phase area!

You need to start using your items you have elementel shards incase you dont have certain magic on your character
