I love the fields of satellite dishes with red lights and the harsh beams of light. the whole area gives the feeling of being watched. I don't know how up-to-date this criticism will be, but some of the lights have lampshades that should be creating cones of light rather than circles, like the purple light in LD_A01 and the blue ones in LD_BO1. You could change the appearance of the lights to ones that don't have shades.
It looks good for the first! Adding more detail to the background is definitely the way for you to improve. Also something that put me off were the starting pipes and the trash pile tunnel. Idk, just the way it is and how it was supposed to form naturally is weird. Again, all great, i feel like creatures you'd encounter would be scavengers or pink/blue lizards, maybe some whites and vultures. Also which region is this supposed to be connected? Because it feels like the mix of waterfron facility and filtration system to me. Also the construction site background is definitely interesting, maybe the lore pearl of the region(if there will be one) will say something about the project or why it was discontinued. I'd love to see it updated! Ok, i read the description, and i really think it could be connected to waterfront facility! There is a lake, and there were probably ships, but it's weird that the ships even were, because of the heavy rain, submarines would probably make more sense, but hey, you do you. Also i would add a little more detail to the floors, some holes or pipes underground would be a good addition to keep it from being just plain black block of floor, and rust on the metal parts is definitely appropriate, since the place is near the water
This is really cool considering this is your first region! I can really see how you're getting much more comfortable with room design the further you go, and that you're slowly finding your own forte. 👍
Nice and clean, whilst still keeping visual interest; layout reminds me of high Shaded Citadel. One thing I'll have to say is the water at 0:57 is too difficult to see.
I literally just copy-pasted the outskirts to industrial gate, since I know nothing about making gates, so consider that gate a placeholder I suppose. The main thing that identifies the room as a gate is its flag in the region’s worldfile. You also need certain geometry and decorations in order for the gate to work, as well as a file that gives it a karma requirement.
This is super cool. As an artist who loves rainworld I think that this is very well done. Some tips would probably be adding more detail to the background in terms of wear and tear. Rainworld is a pretty dystopian world. And it rains a lot. I'm not sure if you were going for a rain world feel or something else to add to the game. So I'm not going to tell you how to "fix" anything because quite frankly it looks really good, and I hate the idea of "fixing" art because everyone has their way of doing things. One thing I did notice while watching this video is that it feels more alive here. Not like all the other regions where it feels like there is living things and creatures but it's not really alive. It feels like a society a community living here, has a use for this workplace. While in other regions it's just things live there, they made the best of the place. If you're going for that more alive feel then I think you did great. But if you are going for a more Rainworld-y feel then I'd suggest removing some of the sounds. (even though they're super cool it feels like background noise caused by workers or telecommunications) you could add some wear and tear if you want, maybe some rusting from the rain or scratching on the metal so it doesn't look like it was just shipped in. 👍 Great work. Also I've never seen someone create a region, could you just make a really simple region. That being space. Just put a really random really tall pole somewhere. Then at the top there's a room with a karma gate. And then you float into the wide open expanse of nothingness. (I don't know if it works like this but the only reason why I suggested this is because five pebbles already has zero gravity features. So the game clearly has implemented it so it shouldn't break anything....right?)
Thanks for the advice! I don’t really consider my maps “art” per se, as I’ve never really considered myself an artist because I can’t draw, like, at all. And I do believe that there is a difference between feedback and “fixing” art. Any feedback, whether it’s praise or criticism, is much appreciated. I am going for a more traditionally “Rain World” region in the sense that it’s supposed to be more desolate and less alive. Almost every room in this video I’m unhappy with and will revisit in future when I have a more solid visual style. I’ve gotten a lot better at the level editor so hopefully my abilities reach acceptable standards soon. And finally, your idea for a space region is very doable. There is a way to apply zero gravity in game and the idea of just floating away into empty space is super cool! Thanks for the comment, I always enjoy reading the longer ones and I’m very grateful for the feedback!
@@tetraneo no problem 😊👍 And I just watched your "5 pebbles removed gravity" series so now I'm absolutely sure that the space thing is doable. Also art isn't just drawing. What you made here is definitely art! I can tell you put time and effort into this. (Not to mention the I-hate-this feeling after making it. Classic artists feeling) Give it some time and yes improve on it. I think the region itself is a great concept and it just needs a bit of tweaking. I think your videos are very entertaining and cool. Put so much work into them and you deserve a much bigger audience. The intros on the flooded series made me laugh every time and are super beautiful. Keep up the good work 👍❤️ Edit: I really think it's hilarious how green lizards we're basically the top predator in the no gravity world. It's like an underdog story. They went from not being able to climb poles or walls to be the most powerful lizard in existence. It's as if they've found a way to do all these things and more and became the best green lizards that could be. They need not take their power for granted like the other lizards.
i think it looks very cool, but it looks quite empty, i'd add more effects, like rust and melt, big tall plants to fill in the empty parts, and instead of taking an effect and putting it over a whole area, like the rubble in _ENTRANCE or grass in _A01 try putting multiple effects, in blob like shapes, around specific parts where it would make sense for plants to grow a little more for example, the base game does a lot of this. for example, in the second screen of _A01, it doesnt make much sense for the metal scaffolding to have rubble on top of it, as there is nothing above it, and it doesnt make sense ro have wires hanging from it, as it isn't machinery with wires. in short: try adding more effects (especially rust and similar effects) in places where they make sense, and in small patches, instead of everywhere, or just randomly
Yeah, A01 and ENTRANCE were the first two rooms I made, so they’re somewhat worse than the other ones. Adding effects is a good idea. Also taking into consideration how rubble / decay has occurred is a good tip!
0:34 i really like the atmosphere of this room & the transition into the next one! bluuuuueeeee...

the emptiness of region + ambient... i really like it
Looks amazing!

Dang, that Depot sure is Secluded.
truly
Beautiful region! I love the lights( 2:52 )!. I have a question though: How do you make the gates for the regions in rwe+?

@@tetraneo Alright, thank you!
not bad for a first region. there's some beginner mistakes, but they're something you'll just filter out with exprience.
Reminds me of home depot
true…………….
It looks very cool!, but i feel like it's missing something, as it feels void and empty.
Still good
i agree, maybe the background is a little empty? some walls are extremely smooth too

2:23 it’s The™ room from the community post!!
What?! How you did that? This is impressive, now I am curious of how use the editor of Rainworld, its really look good! Its hard?
It’s a bit difficult to get used to the editor but once you do it’s all up to how good you can make it look

Its nice but... i think you should add enemy spawns as theres something so unnerving with no predators, it doesnt feel right. Feels... empty.
This is an earlier version of the map. I’ve made some improvements now. Also I’m not planning on adding enemies until the region is mostly finished
Please give me the secrets of your people.
Soon.
Although I literally only found out how to get my levels connected to the world yesterday.
Lmao
Its a nice place but its so empty forget about the background theres no creatures this is a walking simulator
because its provably not done :/ no reason to be rude
