The things I do for you guys..
It's a fun game
on april fools i want her to come up with a set of completely fake gen z slang for them
oh my god genius
👍
Don’t let them see this
I swear himbo was made up bc I’ve never heard it in my life and I’m Gen Z
How do we do this without them finding out though?
Y/n started off as a self-insert placeholder...but she has evolved into her own being now
Literally does anyone even think of themselves when they see y/n at this point or is she just her own entity
@@riyak.7393 i can’t help but read y/n as your name and imagine her as the classic long brown hair and brown eyes with bangs covering her eyes
@@riyak.7393 I think of a pretty girl with my skin tone
I replaced y/n with the word Mystery. From the first day onward I was stuck calling my MC "Mystery" #frenchbread
y/n is basically urself but ideal version, prettier, more likable, smarter, richer etc
Shane putting "lmao" at the end of every sentence deserves bonus points cause gen z is ALWAYS laughing at the end of every sentence lmao
I was already laughing at this comment and then I read your ‘lmao’ at the end and I nearly spilled my drink
@@ilo_ro bro I read that comment and then I read your reply and almost flipped my table LMAO

gotta hand it to these guys tho ngl, i'm pretty sure most of us genZ don't even know what half our slang means, we just have a vague understanding of how to use it. It's entirely based on the vibes of the word
i was thinking this too like I can't explain what a girlboss is she just.. is girlbossing

Gen z DEFINITELY respects Vine and I am extremely offended that anyone would imply otherwise

i think at least older gen z (til 2004-ish?) were influenced more by vine than tiktok actually. because it was popular at the time where most of us first experienced internet culture as teenagers when we got our first smartphones
nah not 2004 vine was dead in 2016 we were 12 then 💀

Honest to God was shaking my head at Shane's response because I definitely thought it was Ricky's definition, like I've fucking used it like that myself, and then comes Simone with that point for Shane 🤡
I only know because I got invited to an OOMF discord by a friend I play FFXIV with.
what is an oomf
@@SetFireGirl i use 'oof' in that sort of context (imagine roblox death sound) - but normally i use it to express embarrassment or awkwardness at the end of the sentence aswell as in the context off "oof, that sucks" in a sympathy pain sort of way.
I would say Y/N is not gen z slang. I've been reading fanfic for a decade and there were Y/N fanfics before my time. I'd definitely say millennials came up with it, but it mostly stays in the fic community so that's why many people don't know about it
That's right. This is a fanfic community. Millennials definitely started using it first in the mid 00s.
@@MissRainbowSkn yea, I think it's coming into the mainstream rn, but it's an old fic term. In fact, since you never really know who writes a fic it could be a 46 year old woman that came up with it🤣

"My little meow meow," did come from ARMYs but it really was just to describe Suga who looks like a cat 😭😭😭 I think both Ryan and Shane were right in their description of it though. People use it for anybody these days lmao
I came here to say exactly this 😭 when did it start meaning antihero? Yoongi just out there living his precious lil meow meow life, he’s no villain🥺😔
I was so confused because I’ve only seen it used by ARMY
Is he like the bad boy? I'm only a surface level BTS fan
@@jackroberts2704 he was stereotyped like that, like the "cold mean savage one" but he really isn't, which sort of plays into the whole "lil meow meow" thing because he's actually soft inside. however, iirc, the origin of "lil meow meow" was when yoongi was getting criticized by antis for something and some army went "my poor meow meow... my lil baby who hurt so much im sorry i couldn't do much for you i tried my best i really did" because they couldn't properly defend him from antis? but it went on to be used for all sorts of things. heck, i have seen it be used the way ricky defined it. however, i do think that considering its most popular usage, i think shane got the closest answer because it just morphed into an affectionate nickname
Not to be that person but wasn’t lil meow meow from that one video of this dude crying about a cat he thought was dead? BUT yeah I have seen armys pick it up the earliest so technically ur not wrong lmao

@@michelavila4740 no it originated in 2018 during the fake love era. in their comeback show there was a scene where yoongi was sleeping in a massage chair. someone on twitter had edited the audio from a vine, i think it was, over the clip of yoongi napping. in the original video, a guy found a cat lying on the curb which he thought was dead. the man in the video was all sad that “they killed lil meow meow” only to realize it was just sleeping when he approached it. the edited clip went viral among army twt and the nickname stuck since then. it was an _inside joke_ about how he resembles a cat and, back then, how he had slept in a very still and funny-looking way in that clip that was circulating. it has very much been our thing for years now
