Black Dragon may have won against Ripperoni, but it was getting its ass kicked in the weapon-to-weapon collisions and only won because Ripperoni lost its stabilizing wheel and broke down. Ribbot, on the other hand, scored an upset victory against Quantum _courtesy_ of its wedgelets getting under Quantum’s. Therefore, I’m picking the tough frog to dish it out on the chin. *Witch Doctor* vs Lockjaw Lockjaw is one of the two big underdog stories of the tournament. With its fragile looking vert and exposed tires, not many people expected it to pull out wins against the likes of Glitch, Mad Catter, and Bloodsport, but it did it, so here we are. On the other end, Witch Doctor is in top form as always, having just previously aced past Jackpot by smashing in its drive armor. Obviously, Lockjaw’s best bet here is to hope that its forks can out-wedge WD’s vert shields, but as we’ve seen in past matches, this is unlikely. In speaking of underdogs… *Minotaur* vs Malice The Brazilian bull continues its rampage after taking down Fusion in short order. Stepping in its way is a dark rabbit by the name of Malice, who had just previously out-clashed Switchback in a battle of attrition. Malice is pretty much the last horizontal spinner in the tournament (which is crazy considering how middling it looked against bots that aren’t even in the tournament), thus making it the biggest underdog left in the tournament. Malice displayed immense reliability in its last few matches, but so did Minotaur. Against a bot this resilient and well driven, Malice’s best bet is to keep its disc facing forward and pray that Minotaur’s drum stops working. End Game vs *Copperhead* After dispatching the reigning champion, the former champion in End Game faces another tough hurdle to go over, Copperhead. As we all know, End Game never fared well against drum spinners. In fact, its title defense was thwarted at the hands of a drum spinner. Also, Copperhead post-season 4 is known to have dominated almost every head-to-head engagement involving ground game tools. Unless Endgame comes up with a good counter for drums, Copperhead will pick apart the wedgelets and gain the edge in head-to-head engagements. SawBlaze vs *Monsoon* Last time they met, Sawblaze and Monsoon scuffled for the full 3 minutes. Sawblaze was able to manhandle Monsoon for a good portion of the fight, while Monsoon managed to deal vital blows to the tires. Monsoon came out on top with the decision. Fast forward to this year, and both bots have changed significantly. Sawblaze’s forks are sharpened and hinged, with its middle fork placed asymmetrically, while Monsoon has improved forks on top and bottom. On one hand, Sawblaze might be able to use its size to get Monsoon on its dustpan for some vital chops. On the other hand, Monsoon might be able to put its new forks into good use and deliver hits at the right angles to hurl it across the box. I pick the latter. Hydra vs *Whiplash* Last time they met, Whiplash overcame Hydra’s piano key wedgelets to score some vital lifts and punches as Hydra struggled to bypass the seams on the floor. Fast forward to this season, and virtually nothing has changed, apart from the fact that Hydra won’t be dealing with aluminum chips this time around. Still, The previous fight came down to the ground game, and I doubt much would change in that aspect. *Huge* vs Mad Catter For this bout, Mad Catter is equipped with a Huge-poon in hopes of hooking onto Huge and taking control of it. I doubt it would have much effect on where Huge lands its spinner, and there’s little convincing me that it’s going to help it win, so… *Riptide* vs Hypershock This is an interesting matchup, in that Hypershock hasn’t faced a drum spinner in over 5 years. As we all know, Riptide is on a rampage right now, trashing its opposition left and right. The best opponent it beat was Mad Catter… a bot that Hypershock beat previously in the Sin City Slugfest. As far as ground game goes, Hypershock’s forks have shown to be very reliable, so seeing it winning in weapon-to-weapon clashes wouldn’t be out of the question. Still, I’m choosing Riptide as a safe pick.

So happy to see that i picked copperhead correctly (my right side of the bracket is all correct so far), and also riptide doing the unthinkable after 7 seasons, it finally happened!!!!! But very sad and unfortunate how whiplash couldn't do it, hopefully ribbot can, he almost did it last season so maybe he can do it this time
Current record 79-41 My Predictions: It’s no time for the round of 16, matches are getting harder to predict and the stakes are much higher! Here we go! Minotaur KO: (This is actually a dream match for me, drum weapon duel) Minotaur hasn’t faced that many horizontal spinners so this could be tough for them, but I still see them winning by preventing Malice to get up to full speed and push it around the Battlebox. Monsoon KO: If there is one type of robot Sawbaze struggles against its thin single blade vertical spinners, Monsoon just needs to have the right angle to hit Sawblaze and even if Sawblaze scoops up Monsoon they will be scared to cut it because Monsoon’s spinner will still be going. Hydra JD: Jake Ewert has learned a lot from the last time they fought, Jake won’t be conservative and will be trigger happy against Whiplash. Plus their ground game is much better than the the last time. Black Dragon JD: 50/50 matchup but I think Black Dragon will unleash better damage compared to Ribbot, control the fight against Ribbot and won’t catch on fire this time. Riptide KO: Riptide’s weapon spins at a faster rate and they don’t give their opponents any breathing room to get back up. Hypershock is fast but won’t get away from Riptide. Endgame KO: Copperhead’s drum doesn’t spin as fast as Minotaur and Copperhead always has those drive issues and I could see Endgame take advantage from that and find their weak spots. Witch Doctor KO: The first time these two are facing off! I think Lockjaw will still be limping after the Bloodsport matchup and end up getting shredded by Witch Doctor. I also just think Witch Doctor is the better bot in this matchup. HUGE KO: As Ethan Kurtz mentioned, MadCatter’s armor isn’t the best and even with the special attachment I think HUGE will be on the offensive and pick MadCatter apart.

Malice: Minotaur by KO - I could see Minotaur get into a troubling spot from Malice's ground game, but weapon reliability should outlast Malice's spinner and turn this fight around with a KO. Sawblaze V.S. Monsoon: Sawblaze by Unanimous JD - The reach of Monsoon's vertical spinner may be concerning to Sawblaze, but Jamison is very capable of finding ways around the weapon and scoop the bot up and slash it with good damage. Hydra V.S. Whiplash: Hydra by Split JD - The battle of control will be key in this one, as Whiplash don't particularly do as much damage with its spinner, but we have seen bots survive big flips of Hydra. So, it's gonna be very tight. I still think Jake Ewert will learn from the last meeting with Matt and be more aggressive with his flips. Ribbot V.S. Black Dragon: BD by KO - BD has proven to be a very tough bot, and the egg beater can be dangerous enough to KO a bot like a frog. I do expect a back-and-forth battle before BD lands a finishing blow for a late KO. Riptide V.S. Hypershock: Riptide by KO - Both bots are very powerful. But all it takes is for Hypershock to be inverted, allowing Riptide to deal massive damage and possibly tear down one of the wheels. Should be an interesting one. Endgame V.S. Copperhead: Endgame by KO - I know Endgame lost to a drum spinner at least twice, but Copperhead's driving does not appear to be as effective as Minotaur's. So, I'll give this fight to Endgame. Witch Doctor V.S. Lock-Jaw: WD by KO - At least one of Lock-Jaw's wheels is gonna be taken off by WD. Let the Witch continue to spell trouble onto their opponents! 🧙🏻♀️ Huge V.S. Madcatter: HUUUUUGE by KO - I honestly don't see the Hugespoon being effective here, as HUGE is a big bot to deal with. I could see Minotaur completely blasting Malice's weapon off its chassis) Monsoon over SawBlaze by JD (I should probably know better than to pick against SawBlaze two weeks in a row...however, I think it will be hard for SawBlaze to drop the hammer saw on Monsoon without it getting mangled by Monsoon's large weapon. Monsoon's current build is quite similar to Uppercut's, and we all know what happened to SawBlaze when he met Uppercut. I'm predicting a 3 minute slugfest where Monsoon ekes out a controversial judges decision victory on the strength of damage points) Hydra over Whiplash by JD (I really wanted to pick Whiplash here...I really did. however, Hydra only barely lost to Whiplash last time they met, and I trust Jake to have a new strategy specifically in mind for Whiplash) Ribbot over Black Dragon by JD (yet another rematch of a past tournament fight! I have a lot of faith in Ribbot. I think they finally have the robot dialed in and ready for a deep tournament run. I think both their horizontal and their vert are more dangerous than Black Dragon's eggbeater. this fight is so hard to predict and it will probably come down to driving and ground game) Riptide over Hypershock by KO (I hope I'm wrong about this. I really, really, really do. nothing would be finer than seeing Hypershock turn Riptide into dust. however, I think Hypershock's super-exposed wheels are going to be its downfall here) End Game over Copperhead by KO (Copperhead always seems to falter when it faces a truly top-tier opponent. I see this going about the same way as their loss to Witch Doctor in last year's tournament) Witch Doctor over Lock Jaw by KO (how in the world have these two never fought before now? Minotaur KO Sawblaze KO: this is a much improved Sawblaze from season 3 that actually has a weapon that can do damage to Monsoon, glad go see Monsoon make it this far but I think it ends here Hydra UD: Even in their first fight Hydra damn enae won on a half powered flipper, if they keep it at full power this time around I think this is gonna go the opposite way Ribbot UD: This is assuming Rubbot doesn't randomly lose drive and give fraud Dragon a free win Riptide KO Copperhead fucking KO: I've been saying this since the End Game v Minotaur fight, Copperhead.gets even better engagement than MI otaur so I expect it to tear End Game's forks up and eventually maybe even kill the weapon Witch Doctor KO: W comeback season for Lock Jaw but it ends here Huge KO: Unless the HUGE-poon is on some bike rack level shit there isn't anything that Catter can do to Huge I'm afraid, and with Catter being one of the more fragile verts it shouldn't take too many shots to kill it Best of luck to you all 🤞
I definitely can see you go another 4-0 again. I cannot believe we're so close to crowning a giant nut winner, only 16 bots remain, end game can win it again or someone new will be it. Either way, I'm so pumped and excited for tonight's episode, have really high expectations, and without further to do, here's who I THINK will win.......... Minotaur Sawblaze* Whiplash Black Dragon* Riptide Copperhead Witch Doctor HUGE *Most are these came from my full bracket prediction however two aren't because I got screwed from the previous fights, so I'm picking them to win. And also these are who I WANT to win as well, I will be rooting for them, especially whiplash, c'mon Matty Vasquez you can do it. I am having doubts of picking copperhead now, but screw it, I'm not changing my bracket at this stage, I pray for an upset.

My thinking was based on who would win the head on head hits, because I can't see either of them trying to flank their opponents risking exposing their back side, unless copperhead does it again like what they did in their ripperoni fight. We seen end game fight a drum spinner in the past, that being minotaur, and how did it go for them? Not too well, minotaur was able to bend up those forks, not allowing end game to get a good weapon bite and minotaur just basically controlled them from there on out to win. Copperhead with a similar weapon and how low & powerful it can be, I think they can do the same, bend up end game forks and screw them over. No doubt in mind that end game would go with forks, and I've yet to see successful forks actually counter drum spinners before. Cobalt almost did it to minotaur but he still lost. Copperhead has bent up forks before last season with their lucky fight. Now I am aware that copperhead is no where as good or better than minotaur, minotaur durablity, reliability and drive is superior and could have been what gave them the win against end game. Maybe copperhead can't take the hits of end game and they die off, who knows? Also copperhead has those two wedges on the front which end game can get underneath to damage them. This was a very tough fight to predict but because of how end game lost to minotaur, I really thought copperhead has a chance. But seeing their last performance against rotator, copperhead struggled and maybe he struggles again in which end game can take advanatge and win. Copperhead can beat verts, but has also lost to them as well, so it's a toss-up, even if this vert he's going up against is a former champ. Now I would like to bring up one last point, in that "oh copperhead lost to witch doctor, so end game should beat copperhead then." There is a difference in which witch doctor weapon sticks out to have reach without the use of forks or wedgelets, which is what gave them the win. End game weapon doesn't stick out much on it's own, they need the forks and wedgelets to get underneath their opponent to get that big bite and win the control. But with copperhead having a low drum spinner, they could easily rip up those forks/wedgelets like what minotaur did to them. So this is why I picked copperhead. Anything can happen in the battlebox, I could be right or I could be wrong, we all have our opinions and I respect anyone who picks end game to win. I hope this explanation helps answer your question

Riptide because Hypershock have them huge wheels and I think that'll RTs primary target Endgame is a powerhouse and the driver is really talented as long as they don't get arenad again like with RIPperoni they should be fine Witch Doctor and Lockjaw is a tough call I think it'll come down to driving skill and who wants it more. I wanna say Witch Doctor because I think they deserve it I think HUGE is a terrible bot and I've legit seen it fall apart so go go MaDCatTer #biasedmuch? Malice could do it but I don't think the driver has the skill of the fella in the Minotaur team so my money is on Minotaur it is the safe bet I want Monsoon to win, such an original concept of a bot but Sawblaze's driver is a force of nature on to the sport. Whiplash: Hydra by Split JD - The battle of control will be key in this one, as Whiplash don't particularly do as much damage with its spinner, but we have seen bots survive big flips of Hydra. So, it's gonna be very tight. I still think Jake Ewert will learn from the last meeting with Matt and be more aggressive with his flips.
Ribbot V.S. Black Dragon: BD by KO - BD has proven to be a very tough bot, and the egg beater can be dangerous enough to KO a bot like a frog. I do expect a back-and-forth battle before BD lands a finishing blow for a late KO.
Riptide V.S. Hypershock: Riptide by KO - Both bots are very powerful. But all it takes is for Hypershock to be inverted, allowing Riptide to deal massive damage and possibly tear down one of the wheels. Should be an interesting one.
Endgame V.S. Copperhead: Endgame by KO - I know Endgame lost to a drum spinner at least twice, but Copperhead's driving does not appear to be as effective as Minotaur's. So, I'll give this fight to Endgame.
Witch Doctor V.S. Lock-Jaw: WD by KO - At least one of Lock-Jaw's wheels is gonna be taken off by WD. Let the Witch continue to spell trouble onto their opponents! 🧙🏻♀️
Huge V.S. Madcatter: HUUUUUGE by KO - I honestly don't see the Hugespoon being effective here, as HUGE is a big bot to deal with. Plus, HUGE can deal some great damage assuming its drive is good enough to control the fight.

(I should probably know better than to pick against SawBlaze two weeks in a row...however, I think it will be hard for SawBlaze to drop the hammer saw on Monsoon without it getting mangled by Monsoon's large weapon. Monsoon's current build is quite similar to Uppercut's, and we all know what happened to SawBlaze when he met Uppercut. I'm predicting a 3 minute slugfest where Monsoon ekes out a controversial judges decision victory on the strength of damage points)

@@Sirvantir Ok, that's a great question and I'm willing to answer it......
My thinking was based on who would win the head on head hits, because I can't see either of them trying to flank their opponents risking exposing their back side, unless copperhead does it again like what they did in their ripperoni fight. We seen end game fight a drum spinner in the past, that being minotaur, and how did it go for them? Not too well, minotaur was able to bend up those forks, not allowing end game to get a good weapon bite and minotaur just basically controlled them from there on out to win. Copperhead with a similar weapon and how low & powerful it can be, I think they can do the same, bend up end game forks and screw them over. No doubt in mind that end game would go with forks, and I've yet to see successful forks actually counter drum spinners before. Cobalt almost did it to minotaur but he still lost. Copperhead has bent up forks before last season with their lucky fight. Now I am aware that copperhead is no where as good or better than minotaur, minotaur durablity, reliability and drive is superior and could have been what gave them the win against end game. Maybe copperhead can't take the hits of end game and they die off, who knows? Also copperhead has those two wedges on the front which end game can get underneath to damage them. This was a very tough fight to predict but because of how end game lost to minotaur, I really thought copperhead has a chance. But seeing their last performance against rotator, copperhead struggled and maybe he struggles again in which end game can take advanatge and win. Copperhead can beat verts, but has also lost to them as well, so it's a toss-up, even if this vert he's going up against is a former champ. Now I would like to bring up one last point, in that "oh copperhead lost to witch doctor, so end game should beat copperhead then." There is a difference in which witch doctor weapon sticks out to have reach without the use of forks or wedgelets, which is what gave them the win. End game weapon doesn't stick out much on it's own, they need the forks and wedgelets to get underneath their opponent to get that big bite and win the control. But with copperhead having a low drum spinner, they could easily rip up those forks/wedgelets like what minotaur did to them. So this is why I picked copperhead. Anything can happen in the battlebox, I could be right or I could be wrong, we all have our opinions and I respect anyone who picks end game to win. I hope this explanation helps answer your question
